Great goal but poor defending from him has lead to all of their goals.

:(

I got laughed at when I said that Moyes should consider leaving Buttner in. But defensively Evra really has been that bad.

Game ain't even finished and the scapegoating starts... fcuk off

Seems absolutely frightened that Robben might dive or something? Whatever it is, terrible defending for the second in particular. You expect one of Vidic or Smalling to stay on Mandzukic for the first.

He lost his ability to defend a long time ago. He has been a brilliant player for us, but his defensive capabilities seemed to start dwindling quite suddenly a few seasons ago.

He was. He organised that left-side superbly and Bayern did nothing...

After the goal is a whole other matter unfortunately.
Exactly. It's a bit unfair to single him out though. Other players dropped off and made mistakes, too.

Brilliant goal. Should've closed down robben and that pass that can happen to anyone were his only mistakes though, did really well I thought. You lot here are disappointed with anything other then a perfect game.

Scored a wondergoal and then decided his job was done, and he didn't need to bother paying attention for the rest of the game.

Same old Evra, I'm afraid. Looks good in attack but put him up against a fast or tricky winger and he's a liability.

Yeah he's finished at the top level. We might as well play Buttner for the remainder of the season to see what he's like with a run of games and see if he's good enough for backup LB.

People are so fickle. The first one was a great header from a player twice the size of Evra. The second one, sure, Evra could have gone closer to him, but he could easily have been skinned by Robben going the other way as he usually does. The third one is Evra making the tackle and Vidic failing to stay with Robben - at least as much Vidic's fault.

People need to find a scape goat. Evra was majestic for the first half and great most of the match.

 Love the guy, I do, but that minute summed up his United career over the past few seasons.

He's served us well though. Never mind.

The second one was entirely his fault. You don't stand off as the full back when your winger is next to you. You don't let him have a free cross into the box.

People are fickle for blaming him for all 3, but the second is conclusively his fault if we have to pinpoint it.

He was directly responsible for all 3.

Whether there were other failures or not is irrelevant, he defends better in every instance and none of those go in.

Yeah, he was poor for the second one, I agree one that. The other two is a team letting each other down from midfield to the last. Pointing fingers at Evra is just plain wrong.

Absolute nonsense. Did his job, was attacked way more than Buttner hence Evra made the most tackles on the pitch at a staggering 6. He was by no means perfect but he mostly did his part and scored a wonder goal to give us a lifeline to boot.

Absolute madness to suggest he didnt do his bit

DDG could have saved number two and three and we would have gone through. Silly thing to say - he wasn't directly responsible for more than one. How come he is directly responsible for letting past a cross, whereas for the first goal it was another player who let the cross past and Evra who lost the duel. Seems like you have an agenda.

Sums him up. Scores a great goal, but then should be sent off and is responsible for a couple of goals conceded. I said it early in the season, but for me, I think Evra and the left back spot is a bigger concern than CM.

You realise more than one player can be directly responsible, right? But the only player who had a hand in all three goals being conceded was Patrice.

Also 60% pass accuracy, almost double Buttner's last game. We had a bit more of the ball overall as well, coincidence? No, Evra just wasnt thrashing the ball forward or kicking the ball right at the Bayern player in front of him like Buttner in the first leg.

It wasn't a red for god sake.

Can more than one person be directly involved as a result of mistakes? That means that one mistake leads to another defender making another mistake to a third - that leads them responsible, but not directly. If Welbeck loses the ball, Robben dribbles past Kagawa, then past Evra, then past Vidic and DDG is a bit unlucky with the shot, is that all of them directly responsible? Rubbish. It's a team effort. Vidic should have done better for the second goal, but he's simply to slow. Evra made a tackle, almost got the ball but ultimately failed. Vidic was there and should have done better.
