Also 60% pass accuracy, almost double Buttner's last game. We had a bit more of the ball overall as well, coincidence? No, Evra just wasnt thrashing the ball forward or kicking the ball right at the Bayern player in front of him like Buttner in the first leg.

Something most people fails to see. He's great at linking up and carrying the ball forward. After our goal, Bayern put it into overdrive and were simply better than is.

Absolute nonsense. Did his job, was attacked way more than Buttner hence Evra made the most tackles on the pitch at a staggering 6. He was by no means perfect but he mostly did his part and scored a wonder goal to give us a lifeline to boot.

Absolute madness to suggest he didnt do his bit
He was partially responsible for all 3 goals! Who gives a feck about passing accuracy if he can't defend when it matters?

Love the guy but defensively he's been a liability for a while.

He's been a great servant though and can't fault his love for the club.

Neuer joins the celebrations

Sums him up. Scores a great goal, but then should be sent off and is responsible for a couple of goals conceded. I said it early in the season, but for me, I think Evra and the left back spot is a bigger concern than CM.
Take a break from the windups for one night eh?

We've seen the best and the worst of him tonight.

He always seems to get involved in attacking areas, but I didn't see that goal coming. What a strike! Defensively however, he's been conceding space for a good while now. It's frustrating enough when he goes missing at LB but even worse when he keeps giving chances to their attackers.

Yep that's how I see it as well. The way we are currently lining up, we desperately need a decent left back in the summer.

Half the team were partially responsible for all 3 goals.

He had more defending to do against Bayern's biggest match winner than any of our players and did a decent job for the most part. There were times he could have done a bit better for sure, but thats the case with every fullback. None of them stop every cross coming in.

And none of them have an easy night when Robben makes 5 dribbles. He was up for it tonight, thats the difference.

He was easily our best option at left back and put in a performance that reflects it

Didn't really do anything unexpected though did he? I mean aside from the goal.
We all had a hunch he could have been a bit of a liability tonight, and he kind of proved to be after the goal.

The decision to play Evra, one which I disagreed with, as I'm sure many did, backfired didn't it.
We knew it would, we knew that there would be a "moment". We hoped that "moment" might just end up with a miracle save or the woodwork rattled.

But it wasn't to be. He doesn't get anywhere near close enough to Mandzukic for the first. He fails to close down Robben for the second because he knows he doesn't have the quickness to follow him if he cuts inside, then that very thing happens and he lets Robben drift past him for the third.

He should never have been on the pitch. And I don't give a shit about 22 seconds of joy, or whatever other bollix is being said. Is that we have come to, being ecstatic about leading a game for less than half a minute?

Clear out the deadwood, starting with this shit for brains manager we have, and lets start again.

He has been great for us for a fair few years but it is time to move on from him, as was the case before a ball was kicked this season. His part in their second and third and the back pass were all shocking and as a vice captain, he let us down badly.

Not replacing him in the summer or January was a massive mistake. If we'd have got Baines we wouldn't have dropped so many points.

Still, great servant but unfortunately time has caught up with him

Should have taken him off while he was celebrating. He's the biggest liability in this team and costs us countless goals. I'd like to see Buttner ahead of him for the rest of this season.

For someone who bangs on about the United way all the time, he sure looks like someone who doesn't give a feck most of the time. Long past his sell by.

Nah he definitely gives a feck, just his stamina's not what it was so he's a liability which gets worse as the game goes on.

Evra is a fecking hero. He looked distressed at the end of the game. He gives more of a feck than Wayne Money does

Even a bigger liability. Speaks volumes that he cant even keep Evra off the team.

What a fecking captain he is, that blooter made me destroy my throat but it was worth it, even if the joy lasted 2 minutes. Absolute legend, keep talking shit about him being a liability, he's shown how much he loves this club today with his goal.

The goal was incredible, his first hour or so was good, his final thirty minutes were forgettable. Still, a Manchester United legend. If he does join Inter that may well have been his final game in Europe, nice to finish it off with a goal of that quality.

was excellent first half, and unbelievable goal. Switched off and then visibly tired from 60 mins on

Frustrating and torture, gave us the lead with a goal he had no right to do, but then threw the game away by not being able to perfrom basic defending, what he is actually there for. He was single handed at fault for their 1st and 3rd goals.

Can't be first choice LB anymore. Costs us too many points and goals. Has been really, really bad this season. I know he gets cut some slack for what he has done (and he has been a loyal servant) but he is done. I would have preferred Buttner.

Was a great goal though!

The end of an era I suppose. For the 60 minutes he was brilliant.

He only has five more games for Manchester United, he deserves to start 'em all. Absolute legend.
Aye.

I expect to see Ferdinand, Vidic & Evra leave this summer. Proper end of an era.

He can't defend for shit but that goal, no matter how the brief the feeling of happiness, was still my moment of the season.

Which says how crap our season has been but you take you what you can.
