Patrice Evra | 2013/14 Performances

I think it's a bit of a stretch to say Evra found Januzaj. United have scouts in Belgium, Evra plays in Manchester. Unless he was a regular at youth training sessions in Belgium.

It is great, but could you not photoshop out that hideous thing on the left?
Agreed, however I was watching the DVD of that season the other day and I had forgotten just how important he was. Some crucial goals. Can't believe I loved that guy.

Time for a rest. I want Fabio but we all know that won't happen. Hell I hope Buttner starts the next game.

Has been one of my favourite players for a long, long time but he is seriously annoying me these days. I really think it's gotten into his head that he is above everyone else in the sense that he can just jog back when we lose the ball, do these needless stupid flick ons inside our own half. He generally does not look arsed to play for us.

Last season he returned to form to an extent (though a lot of it was due to the goals he scored IMO not his actual performances) and I think with the departure of Fergie and given how many games he has played for us, he just does not seem arsed anymore.

Doesn't need to taint his reputation by doing this.

Was jogging back when they got the 'corner' for the first goal as well

He needs some serious competition to get back to his very best I think. Lets hope seeing Fabio on the bench will be a sign

I didn't think he was that bad today possibly because I didn't see some of the things you lot are talking about. But he took a knock today and with one day rest, any of you think Fabio may start vs Norwich?

Competition?

The guy is most likely leaving at the end of the season. I doubt seeing Fabio or Buttner on the bench will leave him worried.

Why would he leave at the end of the season?

For one, his contract is ending. We also know all the rumours about his return to France. He denied it of course, but he also admitted in the past he thought about leaving and Fergie convinced him to stay. He could be off soon. He hasn't got much time left anyway.

Why would he leave at the end of the season?

Last chance of a big payoff assuming there is some truth in PSG and Monaco being interested.

His position has already been under threat considering the bids for Baines (neither one of those would be happy to play a backup role now would they?).

It's obvious he loves and respects the club but players can leave clubs on good terms particularly at his age where he isn't likely to be offered more than a 1 year extension.

It's a shame that he probably won't get a testimonial. Would have to be here until the end of the 2015/16 season for ten years' service. He'd have to accept being 2nd choice left-back and it would be almost be an affront to the little big man to ask that of him when he could get a nice contract elsewhere as a first-choice pick in the final years of his career.

Horrendous but hard to blame him given how much he has been overplayed

He's been shocking. But he hasn't had any support to be fair and anytime Cleverley or co go to help they are as bad as him

He looks exhausted. And who can blame him at his age.
This LB situation is untenable. Buy Baines or whoever in January or this season will be beyond hope.

That's the worst display from him I've ever seen, and he has some bad ones recently. Pls retire.

I reckon even Valencia would fancy his chances against Evra these days.

Agree 100%

fecking cnuts on here far too harsh.

We have been saying for years he plays far too many games, he used to handle it brilliantly but it's all catching up on him now. He shouldn't be playing more than once a week

Normally ignore the people giving him a hard time, but today looks completely off it. Been roasted a couple of times, and another couple of times a last moment tackle has got him out of it.

Bit worrying today!

Lazy and old with high wages, needs to be replaced by the end of the season.
Love paddy, but it's enough now.

Fabio should have played today.

He's got Lennon waiting for him in a few days time.

It's obvious, 'innit. He's saving his energy for that duel. He'll be swashbuckling going forward and tight on Lennon at the back!

That was a dire half, I'll agree, but that he's generally had a lot of appalling games the last couple of seasons seems to me to be grossly overstating issues he's had in certain matches with players using their pace right against him... Nobody can blame him for not being as fast, but he's still effective going forward, and that leaves something going back. It'll be interesting to see if Moyes keeps him on to see if a half-time bollocking gets him re-doubling his efforts.

also, YES! bring Fabio on. Not sure why he's not in contention... From a CL-final in 2011 to this... *groan* Looked good in the one game I saw him in this year, goaled in it an' all!
