Has had a poor season, and was beyond horrible tonight. He has been irresponsible with his defending all season, and tonight..wow. The number of times he was nowhere to be found as his man got behind him was astonishing.
 
He's been a bit of liability this season. Horrible positioning for their first goal.

At one point allowed Mascherano of all people to waltz past him.
 
I know that when he had his early struggles, Fergie told him he bought him to attack so he should attack. But it's embarresing when we have the Da Silvas attacking as well without leaving such gaping holes and showing lack of concenration like that. Not been a good year for Patrice and I'm not sure the nightmare French summer is a worthwhile excuse.
 
Terrible tonight but his performances this season have been nowhere near as bad as some make out. He'll be back to his best next season after a nice Summer off.
 
He was utterly rubbish. Amazing how such a top player got so much wrong on such a big night. Just kept making really poor poor schoolboy positioning mistakes. I feel for Vidic who has to do the work of two at times.

Hopefully the break in the summer does him good.

He's been our worst defender all of 2011. He's a bloody liability right now and can't do anything right. He can forget his Inters and Madrids with performances like that. O'Shea would have been so much better than him today.
 
Terrible game.

Looking forward to see more of Rafael and Fabio in our starting line-up next season.

But hopefully he's going to deal with his form during the summer.

Apart from congratulating Barca, Evra should be identified for his lackadaisical defending in the second half of this season.

I think a lot of his inadequacies are masked by Vidic's superb all round defensive performances.

Evra doesn't seem like he can be arsed to get tight to players (Pedro) nor bother to throw himself in front of shots (Messi).

Not going to criticise any other player - just disappointed with Evra's laziness.
 
I identified him as the weakness in defence and it was unfortunately correct. His positioning, distribution and even basic touch has just deserted him. The way he got dragged about tonight, and featured heavily in all their goals, was gutting to see.

Has the time come to start next season with both Fabio and Rafael more regularly?
 
Wasn't great, I'd be surprised if by this time next year Fabio and Rafael aren't are first choice fullbacks.
 
He has been poor defensively on and off all season with far too many lapses of concentration or not tracking back when he should be. The amount of times he is caught in the wrong position after attacking up the wing then just strolling back is infuriating to me for all his talent at times he looks like he switches off on the pitch. Hopefully he gets back to how he can play next season or else his position in the team should be under threat from others who can cover his place in the team.

This might sound strange but at the moment he could learn a thing or two fromt he twins who know how to get stuck in proper.
 
He really disappointed me.

The weak spot of our defence was the LB slot. Barcelona always seemed to find space while he was nowhere to be seen. Against a team of their quality you can't be so slack in defence. Also his passing was poor, he went forward without much luck and the amount of times he just couldn't keep the ball in play.... This hasn't been his best season so I hope he takes a long rest and comes back stronger.

Yeah, you know what? It's been clear that Evra has been poor, certainly in the past couple of months.

The only excuse is that he may be mentally fecked after playing non-stop for what seems ages (through last year's World Cup).

I have been surprised this season just how many games Fergie has played him in. Perhaps it was lack of options.

he's always used to drift forward and put vidic in pressure, as early as in 2006, When the deterioration in his form and class,combined with it, it became disastrous. He's been bad all season.

He's almost finished.

Relax. One bad season doesn't mean he's finished.
 
He needs to learn a little humility. Arrogance in a player is not great when he is a brilliant player. When you are performing shit, it is better not to "reveal" that you were thinking of leaving last summer nor to tell Nasri he would do better at United!

Way too mouthy...Evra needs to try conducting himself like that great left-back Maldini.
 
I'm surprised that more teams don't target him. He's a real weak spot in defense. The amount of times Vidic has to cover for his multiple mistakes is ridiculous.

He's been targeted all season really. In the end as a team you have to do your job and not complete change your play to try and get at one specific player. If you think you have the better of him you play your natural game and take advantage of his poor form as and when the opportunity arises. That has happened enough times this season.

Thank God for Vidic, really. He's covered Evra's ass all season.
 
One of my favourite players but he's had a very poor season and was shocking tonight. Never where he should have been in defence and when he went forward he just wasted it against a team where it is as good as a capital offence to do so.

Needs a good rest and time to get his head together.
