Paris terror attacks on Friday 13th

Damn this is heart wrenching. :( RIP.

Sounds pretty similar to 26/11 attacks that happened in Mumbai few years back.

You know what is crazy, somewhere in the world there is somebody - a lot of people, even - who are happy about this. Enjoying it. Sick.

These bastards wont make me hate a whole religion. I have good friends at work who are Muslim who will hate that this has happened. I wont feel any different about them because of this.
And rightfully so it's not the whole muslim population who is behind this, It's only a very small fraction of muslims who would support something like this but unfortunately many people will blame all mulims for this and that is exactly what the terrorists want.

There were Islamic suicide bombers in London in 2005. Madrid 2004, though I am not sure if that was a stand alone bomb or not.

There is no doubt that this recent wave of attacks has coincided with ISIS and the recent mass migration from Syria to Europe whereas those earlier attacks were tied into 9/11.

We should have left Iraq, Syria and Libya well alone.
Sadly one of the aims of ISIS to force us to leave all these countries alone including the north african nations and with it take our money out of their economy, so theses nations become destabilised and make taking them over easier.

From what I have read, they detonated it at Gate J of the stadium and there was 3 dead, obviously they are just initial reports.

Shit. When I heard he was a suicide bomber, I hadn't heard about any deaths at the stadium and thought he had just blown himself up in a failed attempt.

how stupid are this bastards anyways? they make us hate them more and more. right now, maybe out of madness, i just wish that the whole western declares the world war 3 towards them and wipe them out. its going too far and it won't ever end.

As Neutral said this response is exactly what terrorists want.

Apparently the anti-mine unit is still searching for mines around the concert venue. That could be the reason police haven't yet stormed it.

Not sure I agreewith that. Gives us a chance to show our solidarity and respect. Security around the stadium will have to be very, very tight.

And that's the last thing they'll need in the next few days, working on securing a football match...

Apparently ISIS has already created a hashtag celebrating it.

Some of you are already claiming this is the work of Syrian refugees. Based on absolutely nothing. You total twats.

Highly unlikely to be Syrian refugees, I'd say. They just got off the boat. Something like this needs organization and long-term planning.

France may be the most vulnerable country in Europe with a huge Muslim population: they don't need to import terrorism from beyond their borders.

Its a serious failure of the French Intelligence, third such incident in a year (hebdo, train and now).

Even back in the days of Carlos the Jackal, the French Intelligence were already a mess. IMHO, they are the worst of all intelligence services among the so-called big ones.

And that's the last thing they'll need in the next few days, working on securing a football match...
Doubt the French players, or the English for that matter will be in the right frame of mind.

If that's true game probably should have been suspended/cancelled.
I was evacuated during a bomb alert in work (Not for the first time) only months ago after the place was searched and given the all clear we went back to work, sadly this is how it works.

What's the latest news on the hostage situation? Other than the eyewitness report, it has been quiet.

You won't and I'm sure the vast many others won't.

But some will. And I won't blame them. It's human nature, we lean on what we know and fear the very uncertain future we face.

I don't think it's wrong - people are angry and upset. It's the weekend ffs. Think of this place, we would all be bitching about the suspected ankle ligament damage Carrick suffered...instead, we're sitting and watching a mounting death toll.

What???? Carrick is injured? Doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things tho

I absolutely despise religion.
I don't have a problem with religion. It's when it get fanatical and

They could be people who were born in France who have become radicalised. As you say this has taken a lot of organisation.

I have a work colleague who met up with some of his Irish lads in Paris for the weekend. Frightening

Still shots being fired and explosions being heard. Apparently the police doesn't want the news to run a play-by-play since during the Charlie Hebdo attacks, the terrorists were watching the news.

I saw on reddit that there has been a fresh bout of gunfire outside the concert hall. Is that true. Stay strong Paris

A french journalist was saying that the German bomb threat was one of many throughout the day, well above the norm. Obviously this is unstoppable, but you'd think they'd have a strong police/military presence on the streets fearing something big.

5 explosions at the concert hall and gun battles? So Sky say...looks like it's a shoot out.

Sky News reporting explosions on Bataclan and gunfire
