Paraguayan left back Diego León arriving in July

21 by the time he is back here after a loan spell. Just nice.
A lot of people thinking that, I am just not sure that the new order will not try to integrate him without a loan spell, I guess it will be down to Amorim and how the lad actually performs in training

The Moneyball save of Manchester United rebuild. I approve!
Indeed. Benfica, BVB and Brighton’s business models of extorting dumb buyers like Barcelona, Chelsea and Utd might finally be under threat.

The benefit of brexit that we can finally sign top young Latin American talent directly! SJR is a wise man.

I think the difference is physically. Pellistri doesn't have the size or pace to play in the EPL. Even great Messi might struggle in the EPL, maybe that's why he won't consider moving to EPL. This boy probably just need one loan move to get playing time to get use to EPL.

Its important that he gets a loan and some exposure. Not everyone can hit the ground running. Certainly not from a kid from SA at 18. This one clearly down 5 years pipeline into the future. I love these type of captures. Exciting stuff and at 3-4 million cost, even at worse csse scenarios you get some paraguayan fans.

Did messi rejected mancity or what?

Hopefully the first of many South American lesser-known talents that we acquire on the cheap and sell them for profit or develop them into first team players.

Too many times in recent years we had good opportunities on the South American market and we missed out. I didn't like missing out on the likes of Caicedo to Brighton or Anselmino to Chelsea. And what happened to that Zambrano kid?
Zambrano is on loan at Hull and currently suspended after testing positive for a banned anti-allergy medication. He says he took it after eating some shrimp which he's allergic to.

SJR mentioned that United is not going to signing big players but looking to find players and make them into superstars. I think we are in the right direction. I can sign 5-10 such players yearly, if they develop then they will step into the first team. If they can't, we will look for buyer to recoup our transfer fee. We should be looking at Brighton where young players are uncovered and developed. Leon is definitely the right way to go.

I think a club of our stature should be focused on buying special talents - and hoping this guy is a special talent - similarly, I think we should have the tools to best develop said special talents rather than loaning them out - other clubs don’t always have the same “care”. I understand prospects need playing time, but it isn’t as though we’re competing at the top of the table and our bonafide first team is lighting the league on fire - and with that in mind - Amorim seems to give players chances, so I’d like some of these guys to be integrated and developed here (provided they’re good enough)

17? He looks about 50!
Nah, he just looks like a genetically gifted 17 year old. The type of athlete we should be looking to sign consistently.

When we add players who are physically impressive, and they can play football it shouldn't be a surprise that we improve in key metrics. I love this type of signing. Low risk and high potential reward.

Would take 5 of these per season over overpaid cnuts that come to have a payday and be show ponies.

Is this what we’re doing now? Targeting top talent from each country and dropping a few million to take a punt? Kone from Mali, this guy from Paraguay, maybe Nypan from Norway, etc. Not gonna lie, it’s pretty exciting.
Much more exciting than watching us play football for sure.

The random midwinter surprise transfer muppetry to distract us from the actual football might be the most shrewd INEOS move so far.

I completely missed that he sign for a European team. Thanks!

I enjoy off season reading transfer rumours and tracking flights more than i do the season nowadays.

I like these cheaper, under the radar type signings. That's the way to build a squad without regularly getting taken to the cleaners.

If they fail you can move them on without too much bother but if they succeed the upside is massive.

The more important question is -- how many kits does Cerro Porteno uses? Seems like they have like half a dozen kit designs based on the various YT videos that I watched

Actually, let's derraill this...I know the answer...the most important one it's the one the azulgrana one, the Barcelona alike.

I dunno if those colors has to do with its origin where an Argie, Lorenzo Massa, helped to keep the Club afloat. This fella was the founder of San Lorenzo de Almagro, a very traditional club from Buenos Aires (the one Viggo Mortensen it's a fan and uses the kit even at the Oscars), yet more than probably not. "El Ciclón" nickname, its a nick that San lorenzo also uses, but it seems it has to do with an epic comeback match in 1918 or sthg. Lots of coincidences with San Lorenzo, but seems it's just that.
