Pakistan

That's a shame...

I added some more information to my previous post but yeah, it is more in the sense that you have to condemn them to have a chance to win seats in Pakistan. Its one of the reasons why Jibran Nasir also failed to win as he refused to condemn them.

What's Imran Khan's position on the Ahmadi problem?

He's not said anything either way. Once he said something to back them and was criticsed a lot.The law needs to change. But it was brought by Bhutto, the supposed left-wing party. Ahmadis are not liked all over the Muslim world and face discrimination. Which is sad.

One thing I am pretty happy about this elections so far is that the religious parties got absolutely smashed.

That was almost as sweet as IK winning, no wonder he is crying over the results

Yup :D No more staying in the government and eating money up. He claims Imran Khan is a Jewish agent. He's lost his marbles since he's seen the £££££.

Woohoo.

Imran Khan is the best candidate for Pakistan.

These are the things he did in KPK which he should repeat across the country.

1. Billion tree tsunami, which was a massive reforestation drive.
2. Provide green energy to schools and rural areas.
3. Massive counter corruption drive resulting in the sacking of thousands of corrupt civil servants. No more dodgy cops or absent teachers.
4. Depoliticising the police. KPK police is now completely independent of any political involvement in the hiring/firing process meaning officers cannot be bought.
5. E governance meaning the public are not reliant on corrupt civil servants to get access to government functions.
6. State funded health insurance. 70% of KPK has access to free medical health care due to this scheme. The insurance company pays bills, the state pays them.
7. Huge investment in education. The education budget increased 400%.
8. Focus on health care. Hospitals have been upgraded with modern facilities. Doctors are held to account and have to be at the hospital not picking up pay cheques for playing golf.
9. Access to courts via mobile courts. KPK citizens in rural areas can have access to the legal system through mobile courts, instead of having to travel for hours on end to access a court room.
10. Security. KPK is safe thanks to the police and army. It was a warzone when he took over.

Whilst foreigners hand wringe about his lack of "liberal credentials", the suffering people of Pakistan have voted for a man who will make the lives of the common man better.

He's already delivered from opposition. He took on the PPP in the courts and disqualified two of thier PMs, he took on the PMLN and put Sharif and Co in prison. He even took on the establishment during the Musharraf era. The man is the hero we deserve.

AAP runs the state govt in Delhi with a massive majority (67/70) and is struggling outside that (they have a few seats in Punjab and that's it). T Hey are not a national force, but some of their achievements as a state govt which I read about sounded similar to how you described PTI.

I don't think they will be re-elected despite that because Kejriwal isn't a great politician and keeps getting in endless unwinnable fights with the Central govt.
Unless something major happens, right now AAP getting reelected is a lock. They will have fewer seats though.

Lot of complaints and reports about the elections being blatantly rigged - sour grapes or any truth in these allegations?

Lot of complaints and reports about the elections being blatantly rigged - sour grapes or any truth in these allegations?

Sour grapes, EU monitors have declared the election fair. The result is similar to expectation. No evidence presented whatsoever, just accusations. In the last election there were loads of videos and eye witnesses to irregularities, enough to form a national commission.

Lot of complaints and reports about the elections being blatantly rigged - sour grapes or any truth in these allegations?

The reason for complaints are:

-proceedings against Zardari for corruption were stopped till after elections to give him a fair chance to do campaigning without being in jail. Same for Shehbaz. Now that they have lost they are claiming this so now when they do get arrested they can say oh look this is because of that
-PMLN, with the help of Kayani, massively rigged Punjab in 2013. Where my hometown was it was so blatant its disgusting, compared to that its been very relaxed this time
-Sharifs have also hired two of the biggest lobbyist firms in Washington who parrot his nonsense.

However, PTI I hope will take complaints seriously and investigate it. The courtesy which the PMLN never showed PTI until forced by the courts, where the rigging was proven.

Truly hope that this marks an improvement in Pakistan society economy stability, and our cross border relations

I think it will. Imran Khan is his own man, he won't take sh1t from anyone and is determined to have a positive effect around the world. Despite what Indian fox news says, he's not anti India, but he's no doormat like Nawaz Sharif. He'll look to practical solutions, especially trade and cultural exchange to improve ties.

Infact he has visited India many times. A lot of videos on YouTube, has given many interviews and the Indians took it well. But now its completely opposite.

It's their media - so much hype. It's like if we had nutjobs like Zaid Hamid as lead anchors on all the media channels.

Yup.

Although I suspect he'll turn out to be China's bitch.

 you seem to have serious issues with Pakistani and China partnership.

He has already promised to publish the details of CPEC so will be an improvement even there on nawaz.

Meh, not surprised that you don't understand it. Don't worry, be ready to sing the Chinese national anthem in next first years

I'm watching his speech. Seems quite good right now although surprised his mentioning of Indian media. Nobody should really give a shit about it, it's pretty crap.

Really liked his point about not living in PM house.

Why are you surprised? India has a stated policy of isolating Pakistan. Be it cricket, arts or politics. We are simply moving away from USA. Our ties with Russia as well now are outstanding compared to the 90s. China is a superpower, in the past we made the mistake of ignoring the Soviets who were on our door step. CPEC will be a game changer. If being someone's bitch helps even one Pakistani change his fate being a bitch it is.

Imran Khan saying he was disappointed in the India media portrayal despite his relations with them via cricket.

Said they portrayed him as a bollywood villain

Khan's victory speech:

-turning all the lavish PM, Governor houses and all the lavish buildings where looters enjoyed taxpayer $$$$ to be turned into public education buildings
-the focus will be better relations with all neighbor's including India. He says he is saddened at the level of hate he has received from Indian media in the last few days and he is shocked considering his good relations with Indian media and Indian people. Said he felt like a Bollywood villian. He also says to ensure eradication of poverty in SC trade with India is immensely important. Also says a dream to have open borders with neighbors, especially Afghanistan.

Good speech. Now he has to live up to it.

A point where 95% of SEA politicians fail.

On an human level, I hope you lot get stability. The amount we lot spend on our armies could be spent on other areas to alleviate poverty.

Good luck to Pakistan.

Its pretty ridiculous. I am pretty envious and happy India has a great foreign policy. Something we should have emulated. But anywhere Pakistan does well some Indians simply cannot seem to stomach it.

We have been the USA's bitch far longer. I am glad that is over.

Very true. Let's see, because he has set very high aims. People will tear him apart if he fails; so I am hoping he does well. I am simply glad to see the back of PPP and PMLN. Once and for all one hopes.

That very first move of not living in PM house should resonate with a lot of people. So good start there.

For all the euphoria, this is still Pakistan we're talking about, so I'm tempering my enthusiam.

With the amount of corruption at so many levels in the country, this'll be a very long process to sort out, even for someone like Khan.

Hopefully, just hopefully, we can take some slow steps in the right direction.

I hope Hafiz Saeed fecks off to some cave so Indians can stop harping about it. He is completely irrelevant to a normal person, he event lost the seat to PTI, I had to mention him 3 times for my family to even register its this guy. I hope Indian army stands down from its high alert.
