Onana for the first one, watch his right foot, just stays on the ground, no push off, no spring, that's a saveable shot.
I'm really curious to hear which keeper you think would be getting the side conceding more shots per game than every side in the league bar the record-breakingly shite defence of Sheffield United into a much higher position than we are...Trust me, it would make a huge difference
A top keeper obviously wouldn't do much for this team. We're conceding more shots than any team in the league bar a side that has literally broken the record for goals conceded in Premier League history.I won't disagree with you too much on that, I wouldn't have him as a top shot stopper.
I'm not sure even a top one does much for this team, it's a mess.
Why is it that lower placed keepers, who always face more shots, usually have a good save percentage and their stats very strong and they get bought by teams higher up the leagues?I'm really curious to hear which keeper you think would be getting the side conceding more shots per game than every side in the league bar the record-breakingly shite defence of Sheffield United into a much higher position than we are...
You have zero clue about statistics. It's really that simple.A top keeper obviously wouldn't do much for this team. We're conceding more shots than any team in the league bar a side that has literally broken the record for goals conceded in Premier League history.
Anyone who thinks there is a keeper out there who would have us getting considerably better results knows feck all about the sport they're watching. I'm sorry, it really is that simple.
It wouldn't have made a bug difference in the league at this point but overall, looking at the season, it's had a big effect because going out of the CL like we did was in a big way on him. Psychologically it has no doubt had a big effect in a negative way on our squad.I won't disagree with you too much on that, I wouldn't have him as a top shot stopper.

Onana's stats are strong, so I have no idea why you're bringing that up like it's a point against him.Why is it that lower placed keepers, who always face more shots, usually have a good save percentage and their stats very strong and they get bought by teams higher up the leagues?
Because while they face volume, their ability as shit stoppers means they can make more saves, not less.
Now variance happens depending on how clinical the opposition are but in general, teams will have pot shots and saveable shots, they won't all be worldies.
So just because he has a high volume of shots, doesn't mean he naturally has to ship the most goals.
But besides from the stats, the eye test. The guy cannot make routine saves.
Bad keeper, terrible signing for United. The worst United have had since John O'Shea.
Agreed. He doesn't have the ability to make saves he shouldnt be able to get to i.e. like the very best keepers do. Somehow they keep the ball out by pulling off a worldoe save. The difference between Onana and a top keeper is they save two of those goals, maybe three and keep us in the game.
And a top keeper doesn't kneel and pray for that last Edouard shotThe difference between Onana and a top keeper is they save two of those goals, maybe three and keep us in the game.
Meh, everyone absolutely despised him after his disasterclass against Ghana in the WC. I don't think he was the answer either.Terrible keeper. We could have got Costa from Porto for the same price.
Asking god for an interventionAnd a top keeper doesn't kneel and pray for that last Edouard shot

Anyone take a punt on Ramsdale?
Straight swap sure.Anyone take a punt on Ramsdale?
Everton are going down. Picking up Pickford then?
Nah, he’s as bad as Onana. All mouth and no trousers.Everton are going down. Picking up Pickford then?
Edit: Oh shoot. They are 15th?
Can’t actually argue with that. good descriptions.I've said this for sometime and repeated it on the match day thread:
He doesn't make saves, he makes blocks. Shots have to hit him.
His footwork is a joke for a professional keeper, always late, leaden footed, is still setting himself as shots come in, leaving him with distances to cover. Example; Hughes had a volley from the edge of the area, it's in the middle of the goal but Onana is at finger tips to make what is a routine catch tbh.
I've said it so many times in here but his hand eye coordination and technique in actually handling shots and ball manipulation is absolutely insane, I've never seen anything like it. It's why you see so many shots come off of him at weird, unpredictable angles, seemingly always back into danger.
The ball always hits the base of his hand/top of his wrist, like a block, sending the ball back where it comes.
He cannot judge the flight of the ball so saves rarely hit the "meat" of his palm and fingers, instead hit his wrist where, and this is crucial, he has not control.
He had no athletic ability, no spring, slow to get down, cannot cover the top corners, cannot cover the bottom corners, really does play like a 5'8" keeper.
So much technically wrong with him but everything was overlooked because he can pass the ball (so what tbh) and he's ETH guy.
What's the point? He's been out of the game for an entire year, not playing. Likely won't be sharp and will make mistakes. We should have just kept De Gea, I wonder if he fancies coming back.
