Think Rogers is going to be our next manager withing the next few weeks, probably after the Chelsea game.

All the Conte talk that he wants assurances (which was a lie), then the talk about Zidane rejecting us, which could also be a lie, and now this thing about him staying till the end of the season is to reduce the backlash when Rogers is appointed, they know the fans don't want him, so they're giving us the scare that Ole might stay till the end of the season, so that when Rogers comes, we don't get as mad.

I am not one of those and would in fact very much welcome someone with coaching ability, yes I know he managed the enemy but I am prepared to at least give him a chance. Think it's safe to say that Rodgers is not going to ever be accepted by the top reds in our fanbase.

Jesus christ the thought of not caring about our results for another SIX months is sickening

In fairness, that isn't what it says. If our current form continues, or even improves a little bit, his job will become even more untenable. We will slide down the table and before you know it, we'll be 10th or below.

If they already think a change of manager is inevitable, they won't just stick with him for no reason, even if it meant a caretaker or something.

I think it's just a short matter of time before he goes. There are no easy games in the Premier League now and the way our team are playing, we'll be lucky to even win 30% of the matches, if that.

On a positive note, this is the first time I believe Ten Hag has been mentioned as being 'under consideration' by a reliable source. So hopefully the club are looking at him.

I don't get the Rodgers hype still when we could go elsewhere. It's hardly an inspiring appointment for anybody except him

There is zero nailed on appointments.

They all have major question marks.

All the top level managers are employed by our rivals. So we have no choice but to shop at the level below

Quite frankly I would give anything for a caretaker (no ex players) to come in and coach these players properly

It would be criminal to just almost write off the season and use blind faith to the max if it’s even remotely true that Solskjaer is here for the rest of the season, with the squad we have now.

Its fecking insane and I don’t understand that level of thinking. No other club would do that. Solskjaer hasnt been having Klopps or Guardiolas career for us to potentially to have conflicting thoughts on this, like our board seem to be having.

Forget the fecking player. Focus on the manager. It’s the man from Molde who briefly stayed in Cardiff. If it was any of our similar ’elite‘ peers in Europe, that person would never feature on a manager shortlist of the top 100.

Because we are emotionally invested in the team and the club where as they are in it for the money? If that makes sense
I know why we are. It's more about why we should be. This club has taken the piss out of us for for over a decade now. I know this isn't the thread for it, but it goes beyond Ole. This is just more proof.

A smokescreen for the real reveal of the new manager.

Imagine the scenes - a big presentation of our new manager - a big stage outside the megastore, the dry ice mist rising, fabulous light show - tense drum roll.....................

Out walks Ole - 5year contract extension! #passhun

:lol: :lol: :lol: :nervous::devil:

Can't believe we are writing off a season just like that. We deserve every bit of this.

getting to yo-yo between uneven USMNT performances and back to uninspired manchester united performances. Fun fun

Started a new United career on FIFA 22 today. First game of the season and the commentator says “with this squad Manchester United must be challenging for the title this season”. Try telling that to the Manchester United board ffs!

For the sake of my sanity, I would pretend that this year 4th Place Trophy would be very interesting with Ole's yoyo form. We go toe to toe with clubs like West Ham, Leicester, Wolves, Arsenal and Spurs.

We try to make it difficult for teams like Everton, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Southampton and Leeds.

Bottom teams like Norwich, Newcastle, Burnley and Watford we just ask the players to go out there and enjoy themselves.

Forget about Liverpool, City and Chelsea. They are cheating with world class managers.

What's not to like?

What I’d love is Ten Hag is waiting for the CL groups to conclude then join us leaving Ajax in a healthy state and that’s the reason we look like we are dithering with the Solskjaer sacking…

…ok I’ll put the crackpipe down now.

I have accepted we are not a serious club. Know this and know peace.
Winning is clearly not top priority. That's objective truth.
Their priority is the appearance of a "too big to fail" soccer institution. I think they believe that appearance is key to financial success. The reality is, however, that we need to continue to obtain fans from abroad to sustain the financial resources that the club has, and the best way to do that is not generic platitudes about being "too big to fail" but success and standards.

I like your optimism. I'm not sure why they won't go for an interim since it's clear he will be replaced in the summer no matter what (he ain't winning anything lets be real). I think they probably think it's too jarring and not sure who to bring in who would make a marked difference. I don't agree with them but I think they're just waiting for the summer.

Probably more about money and Ed’s ego. Ed doesn’t want his legacy to be firing the man he just gave a 3 year extended contract to, following doing the same with José. And they also don’t want to have to pay off Ole and another club who’s manager they take.

Brendan Rodgers sitting top of the list of candidates for the United job is the mindfeck of the century. Frankly, I'm surprised that you've all fallen for it.

I can't wait until they announce Eric Cantona as interim for the season, with Roy Keane as assistant manager and Micah Richards assistant to the assistant manager. If we can make this happen by tomorrow latest, we'll win the CL this season. I'm sure of it.

It's obvious by now but this pretty much confirms that the club is trying to replace Solskjaer as soon as possible.

I don’t think Zidane is the safest choice but I think he’s the most exciting. If it worked, it would be incredible

So another season written off then??

I guess we'll be cheering on city to win the title over Liverpool. Oh what fun.

Aye, utd should be looking for a worthy interim now Zidane's turned down the offer.

This is more like it:

It actually hurts when you hear things like " Creating space for each other with off the balls runs. Liverpool are masters at this"

Meanwhile we play Neanderthal hero ball.

What pisses me off is that Cole was never a WC player. SAF knew that which is why he was like United's 4th choice. What made Cole the player we know is thanks to SAF and the coaching team who transformed him from a goal poacher to a more rounded player. They did the same with the entire squad including with Ole. Thus its hypocritical for someone like Cole to underestimate top quality coaching and management cause if it wasn't for that he'd be remembered as the Arsenal reject with no trophies and who could only score goals with Newcastle.

Is this a real post?

If that's true it actually makes me feel ill.

Why oh why is he so completely and utterly immune to the sack. Feck me I'd love to be in his position, manager of what is supposed to be one of the best clubs in the world, earning millions, completely failing at my job.... yet completely and utterly untouchable no matter what I did.

I get the board are a bit incompetent with footballing matters. What I don’t get is why they then don’t spend a bit of money employing some people who do. Maybe they do do this and they’re just not good at their jobs. But they obviously have some cash to splash around. I’m sure there are some pro level analysts at there who would jump at the kind of salary and prestige of being offered such a role by a club like Utd. The board is mostly finance or business guys, I’m sure they wouldn’t employ business analysts that had no idea what they were doing or at the least incompetent. They wouldn’t be hired in the first place, and they’d get sacked within months. Why do they take this approach with football and not learn. It’s stupefying, There’s about a dozen clubs in the premier league alone that conduct football matters much more professionally on a fraction of the budget. Why the feck do they not learn? .

They've done that but in the form of Nepotism FC. They ask an old and sentimental Fergie, even older Sir Bobby and the likes of Robbo, Neville etc. It's no wonder we have a very insular and traditional set up which has turned into jobs for the boys.
