Today is going to be one of the most anticipated press conferences there has been. I’m kinda excited for it.

I can’t wait. We should do a pole how we think it’s going to turn out.

Will he go peak Keegan. Will he starting singing Ole’s at the wheel like Lou Van Gaal’s army!!

Or will he just be a cliche mess talking about United way and you know right…. I played in a game where we lost 5-0 to Newcastle.. who were the Liverpool at the time.

Today’s presser will be Solskjaer’s ‘cup final’. Rarely will there have been such media interest in a manager’s pre-match press conference and I fully expect the pressure to get to him. Expect cliche after cliche, ramblings, hollow words… and that’s only if the journalists let him off easily. Should they crank up the pressure a few notches and ask the tough questions they should be, I expect Solskjaer to wilt, I’m sorry to say.

The way the club have handled this week is disgraceful and putting Solskjaer through all this is after all the speculation is extremely cruel. He doesn’t deserve it but that comes with the territory, I’m afraid.

We need a manager to come out fighting - with the media, his coaching staff and under-performing ‘stars’ - and if Solskjaer does that fairly sharpish, starting today, he has a chance of salvaging his job. If nothing changes, and all we get is “United DNA” and “the players are working hard” empty platitudes later today, he should be relieved of his duties immediately after tomorrow’s game, no matter the result. It’ll only prove he will not, and possibly even cannot, ever change and that, for any United fan watching our current rot, would be extremely worrying.

'There's been great passion and willingness shown this week to turn things around, in fact, Harry is still turning around from yesterday's training session as we speak but I'm sure he'll be ready for tomorrow'

'No problems that I can see at the back, they'll figure it out for themselves'

'Pressing is key, we need to press more, get as many body's pressing forward as possible'

Does anyone remember how low the support got for Mourinho? I'm surprised by the number OleIN votes still.

Okay. So honest question. What do you see him winning?

@Berbasbullet can answer this too.
Look man if there's one thing that really bugs me is when people talk about inevitable things that'll happen in the future. At this point yes it's looks likely he'll be gone before the international break. But I won't be so facetious so as to claim I know for sure he won't be able to turn things around and win things.

And honestly, I'm a Utd fan, so all I care is us doing well.If it is with Ole, great, if it is with someone else, then great as well. What I don't get is people who have already decided that they've seen the future and refuse to celebrate a present Utd win if it means Ole staying longer.

Again, I do think it's unlikely he turns things around but I hope he does, and as long as he is our manager I will support him.

Former players bring kept on in an ambassadorial capacity is brilliant idea. But the idea the people in charge of coaching or technical director or DoF briefs should be hired primarily based on not needing directions to Carrington is absurd. Seeing so many suggestions about him becoming DoF. Based on what?

We can’t claim such a job is necessary for us to compete at top level long term then fill it with someone just because we feel bad for sacking them

Right now? Nothing, but it doesn’t matter what I think. What I HOPE for is the team (as the other poster put) “turns it around” which I interpret as competing for titles.
I really hope Ole does turn it around but no I don’t think he does.

No doubt will be another cliche riddled press conference today. Along the lines of... "The boys are working hard in training to put things right, I cant fault the fantastic attitude of the players, We're in this together, My staff are fantastic, everyone at the club is hurting" blah blah blah. Then fast forward to kick off tomorrow and we'll still be playing with 2 DM's and will more than likely keep our magnificent defensive record up.

We are all United fans. I just don’t appreciate fans that don’t keep it honest. He’s not going to win us anything significant and if it wasn’t obvious before it certainly is obvious now.

So suck it up and get behind us trying to make this club the best team in the league again. First stop a quality manager. Raise your expectations not just to be happy your team wins for one week.

“Nah that’s absolute bollocks that. Absolute nonsense. There’s always pressure here”

We ain’t doing nothing. Give it up.

Go on Ole. Rip into these players. Give us a laugh.

"These players simply can't be fecked. Even if I start with 10 defenders tomorrow, these players don't have the mental capability to keep a clean sheet. It's as simple as that."

If you have already decided you've seen the future, then there's nothing to discuss here.

ESPN running a piece on Rodgers being the favourite to succeed Ole, that the club will likely look within the Premier League.

My question - is it too early to start drinking?

I’d be absolutely fuming if we overlooked Conte for Rogers.

Ah! So you’re comparing SAF not being sacked following a defeat to Palace in 1989 to O’Farrell being sacked following a (5-0, interestingly) defeat to Palace in 1972.

Now I understand :)

So are you saying Ole should or shouldn’t be sacked? There are precedents for both.

I've repeated myself a few times but since this copypaste from a article was quoted no less than 15 times I'll repeat myself once more and hopefully people actually read it:

It's not a comment on Ole. It's not a comment on todays circumstance. It's not a comparison between the ability of the managers. It's not a comparison between the situations. It's not a comment on anything.

All it is is a (to me) fun look into a comparable situation in the clubs history where the fans repeated the same arguments nearly word for word.

*3 years without a trophy"
*Spent a lot of money"
*Fans calling loudly for the sacking of the manager

I'm not comparing the playstyles of the 80s and today.
I'm not comparing the moneyspend to a different generation
I'm not comparing the call to fire Sir Alex to Ole's current situation.

Can you now please read what I wrote and stop putting words in my mouth. Thank you.

Tell me you’re joking. That’s one way of getting the fans behind Ole.

Theres nothing to see. It’s flipping common sense. Name me a manager with his CV that has won a premier league. Information is there for a reason. It’s why people recommend reading books and doing research. It improves your knowledge.

This would be extremely underwhelming, yet an entirely possible turn of events.

Good bye manager it's been nice
Hope you'll find your paradise
Tried to see your point of view
Hope your passion will come true

He might as well do Give us a Clue for what he is doing.

I have reached the point where I just want someone to come in and drill these players properly whilst keeping the biggest egos in that dressing room like Bruno, Pogba & Ronny in check at the same time which I feel Conte does.
Don't even think it's an ego thing. All players need is a structure they can relate to. If they actually know what their job in the team is it makes it easier to play to their strengths. Players doubting training sessions and tactics will never function as a team. The players have to buy into it which under Ole they obviously don't.

Because you can reasonably make predictions based on data that you have and patterns that you can see from it. Sure, no one knows the future, but that doesn't stop one from say investing in something when they know they can make a profit from it after a certain amount of time.

You can keep on going till eternity that it will come good because no one knows the future, but past it there to learn from and use it make reasoned decisions.

You know I actually do research for a living, seeing as how I'm a scientist. But thank you for the recommendation.

And since I do research for a living, I do know anomalies occur all the time, in science, in nature and in sport.

Anyway I tire of this pointless conversation. I've already agreed with you that I think it's likely he'll be gone soon but I'm not gonna claim to have some brilliant foresight and until he is sacked, I'll hope he keeps winning games. Have a nice day. :)

Most people can do bench press more than United do pressing the opposition.

Well you have no excuse to say these things. I expect better from you.

With Ole it's always going to be the same MO. Relative highs followed by disastrous lows. What we do know is his coaches can't coach and that Ole himself has no idea of how to get the best from his players. That cannot be argued. You're living in an alternate reality if you think it's suddenly going to click.

I said I HOPE he turns it around, not that I think he will. I did not know it's such an unpopular opinion to hope for Utd to go on a winning run around here.

Everyone wants us to go on a winning run, that goes without saying but when every single metric suggests other wise there's only 2 choices. Get with reality or live in denial. You've said yourself you don't think he'll turn it around so how long would you give him before it finally sinks in that he isnt good enough?
