We have scored more than one goal in a single game just thrice in our 20 matches since PSG. Once in our last fourteen matches in all competitions.

And one of those 3 occasions was when we got 2 penalties against West Ham last season and won 2-1.

It just tells us enough when there's far more positivity surrounding Chelsea than us when they have a rookie manager too, sold their best players, got a transfer ban have and average squad and got same points as us in the league, because you can see their rookie manager is applying a certain good style and young players are getting in the team, while their defense is costing them, thus he deserves more patience in terms of results and it's obvious with few more transfers in to solve their defensive problems.

While you look at us, you see absolutely nothing being applied on the pitch. Crap and uninspiring football, can't score more than a goal a game and winning every match even against League Ones side with utmost difficulty. There's really nothing to be positive at. We're not asking for results, just a coherent and good style applied on the pitch that shows there's work being done and it's only missing few key signings.
This is how I've been judging all of our managers. I'm not results oriented. I want to see us playing good football and see some coaching to a point where we can believe the manager is the right man going forward. None of our managers have passed this test. We've had a lot of different players, so I don't like to blame the players for a lot of it.

There are far too many blind faith posters who ignore this. Fergie's words to back the manager has poisoned so many fans and all of them put no thought into why the managers deserve to be backed.

The problem we have is not coaching.. It is the pressure that is getting on our players .. with high expectations.. and our poor recruitment.. You cannot coach a Smalling, Jones to make a 50 yard pass.. what we are lacking is recuitment and players that can play under pressure
I'd agree with you if it looked like we were trying to play a certain way but failing at it. But that's not the case. The football is insipid ineffective nothingness. One of the main problems we have is coaching, playing style and also having modern thinking minds in the backroom staff. We're stuck in the Stone Age in every single aspect of that.

I dont believe in this coaching crap.. these players are not good enough.. they are under pressure everytime they go in to play.. and make stupid mistakes, the press, social media is not helping.....
How many of our players would get into City, Liverpool, Spurs,Arsenal's team.. not even 1 ..maybe 1 -2 .. thats why we are where we are.. You can analyze strengths and weaknesses of opposing teams .. but if you buckle under pressure or are not better than the opposing player you lose .. That has been our problem.. We have a recruiting problem.. and we have a pressure cooker situation ...we keep buying dross .. or over the hill stars..thinking about stock market and clicks and advertisements.. The thing we are missing is a football structure .. and scouts that can identifu talent ..It will take us a long time to get on top again..
I think my brain melted reading this.

I know people love to make excuses for him, but that's terrible. Terrible players and average (at best) coaching team.

This will end badly. Woodward will wait too long to pull the trigger and season will end up being a complete write off.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ole takes us around relegation spots come December. We will be playing 2 times per week and with a short squad can drop some points on the way to shite opposition.

This guy has literally no plan B. Even against a League One side. All of our inferior opponents need to do is block the center and force us wide. We don't have a presence in the box, can't cross a ball, our set pieces are useless. Frankly even a Sunday league team has better variety in attack and some decent moves.

Our only option is to fall back and counter in space. That's it.

Exactly, for all the knee jerk comments on here I think we as fans are generally ok with us losing or giving a manager time, if we can buy into the long term vision. Lampard had a decent experience with Derby, nothing incredible but definitely proved himself at that level, develpoed an idea of how he wants to play football and is putting it into place. Even watching them the other day against Liverpool you could see the progress they're making. I don't think they'll reach that elite level until after they can add a bit more quality to the team but I feel most Chelsea fans think the foundations are slowly being built there.

Оh boy, let's see.

lsd, roonster, Wolff, Patience, etc, etc.. Just look at the thread 10 pages ago.

We had the whole fanbase divided during the summer explaining how he will come good only after he's given couple of season and time.

Edit: still coming as well - The_Midfielder above..

I think many of those you mention believe in what he is trying to achieve; a complete overhaul of the squad which began only a few months ago, and they are prepared to forego short-term success in favour a securer future for the club.

Have we ever won a game and you've come out of it feeling as bad as that?

The only other one I can think of was in Van Gaals last season when we beat Sheff Utd 1-0 in the FA Cup 3rd round with a last minute penalty.

We're not a good team, but I simply don't see how Ole is making us any better.

That first game against Cardiff was the best of his reign in terms of the quality of our play.

They said the same with Moyes. Pretty sure they were saying Mourinho would stay same time last season.

There is no improvement. We playing fecking Rochdale and Astana. What’s the playing style? All this talk about fitness and we look unfit.

True but unlike Moyes and Jose the squad isn’t in a position to challenge for the title at the moment. 6 years of bad management needs sorting out and this summer it looks like we hit the reset button.

The question should be is Ole the right man for the rebuild? I’m starting to have my doubts, we are starting to look more clueless by the week but if they sack him now then the plan is again fecked.

So in essence they believe a mediocre manager will come good, isn't this what I said?

Wasn't the million comparisons with Klopp and Pep used to defend the idea of him making it, based on absolutely nothing in terms of actual evidence he is remotely as good and talented as those managers?

Just read the last posts from @Wolff and @Patience openly at it against anyone who would question the point in keeping him and sticking to his plan (whatever that is)..

He writes in a slightly unorthadox style but the points made within are solid.

The players aren't good enough and no amount of good coaching will alter that small fact.

So we need better players to beat Rochdale?

City's U21 side smacked them twice.

What are we actually doing in training though? I agree, the club is rotten to the core and things need to change at the top, but just the basic attacking principles of a professional football team just aren’t there. Do we actually work on linking up midfield with attack? Id love e to watching training for a week

The manager is far worse than the players this time around though, the players aren’t great but they are nowhere near as bad.
We’re shocking, really really shocking, really under coached, no plan, Ole is not good enough to manage at this level, regardless of which players we’ll buy or sell, it is well obvious.

Don’t know why that keeps being branded about. They played the kids & so did we. It weren’t the same team
They haven't won a game since August.

We are probably 50 positions apart in the league system(although that is likely to change with them moving up in League One and we down in PL).

We can’t even get a set piece right.

Even dinosaurs like Pullis and Big Sam can get the basics right.

Either way you can’t compare the two as neither of us played our first teams

Embarrassing interview after the match, claims that "that's the way we do things at United, we never do things the easy way, we've always been like that at this club" while saying he is extremely happy and what's the worst that can happen if you get knocked out? Christ, I wish I could lose my love for football. This is a shambles right now.

Used to be a thing while Fergie was here about doing things the hard way.

What's sad about Ole is he's such a second hand throwback still. Feels like his whole time managing is running off the memory banks of another man.

The only thing he's got down well is his three signings but I'm left feeling sorry for them playing wise and it's still early days to say for sure.

I think it should be time for a poll.

How many want to keep him and how many think he should go. Thinking Rashford and Lingard are going to do the business for you over a season was one of the stupidest things you could do.

We can’t even cross, I don’t trust a single player to score a free kick in a scoreable area anymore and we get a corner nowadays and i don’t expect a bullet header off anyone.

We were pretty close to our best team, apart from Maguire. Considering Rashford, Martial and Shaw are injured, how different would our first team would have been if we were playing a PL side today?

Funny, people used to say the same about Van Gaal & Mourinho too. It takes about 2 months of a new manager, and the players the last manager signs become deadwood for the fanbase. I'd hold your horses with that assessment.

I think he will be given a lot of patience compared to all the other managers post SAF but there is a limit to how bad they will let it go. Those who think he'll keep his job if he finishes 10th will be dissapointed. I want him to be given time but things have to improve, it's dire at the moment.

Out of his depth and there's no indication he can turn it around, or anything in his managerial record to suggest he has it in him. No semblance of a plan. There was always a strong possibility it was going to go this way, right down to some posters disregarding the former and supporting with him a kind of religious zeal

You'll have to ask them. I can't speak for others.

Personally, I doubt anyone saw OGS as a manager capable of leading a top tier club to long-term success (far from it based on his limited and unsuccessful previous experience) but he might be the right man to lead a rebuild, laying the foundations for a more tactically aware manager to take over and lead the team to success. At least that's the hope.

I really hope you're wrong.

No manager should get a 2nd season if they finish 10th.

This is just stupid and/or ignorant.

Sir Alex finished 11 in 87 after beeing appointed in november 86.

He finished 2 in 1988.

In 1989 the team secured a 11th place in the final table.

In 1990 We finished 13.

In 1991 We came 6th.

The rest is history.

Don’t know why that keeps being branded about. They played the kids & so did we. It weren’t the same team

For a start that’s wrong but even if that was true it makes tonight’s result even worse.

Couldn’t beat Rochdale’s kids, I mean if their main team is 17th in league 1 and they’re getting beat 6-0 can you imagine the level of their reserves?

Im honestly lost for words at your post.
