I agree, but surely surely a manager should be able to get more out of that team as poor as it was against the sort of opposition we've faced so far this season? I'd bin off most of the squad, but I wouldn't fancy Ole to get the best out of quality talent anyway.

Me neither to be honest.

I don't know where the club goes from here, they've backed themselves into a corner by openly supporting Ole in this rebuild, sacking him now would not look good for them so they're obligated to give him a whole season in charge. But Ole clearly isn't the right man for such a big job so keeping him on seems pointless.

I think we're in serious trouble this season.

I know people love to make excuses for him, but that's terrible. Terrible players and average (at best) coaching team.

This will end badly. Woodward will wait too long to pull the trigger and season will end up being a complete write off.

The facts are that since he has been made permanent the results have got worse, the performances have got worse. So what's changed? Has he become a shit manager just because he signed a contract or have the players become shit? Which one is it? You can't say it's all on Ole when the results are great but all on the players when the results are shit. That's ridiculous.

If he had never played for us he would never have become our manager and he definitely wouldn't have survived the summer.
He was always a shite manager and many games even before he got the job we were riding our luck. He eventually ran out of luck, that’s it.

I think we should give him a chance especially as he is the first manager since Fergie to actually think about long term rather than throw money on players who didn't even want to be here
Not true. Moyes thought he had six years.

Weirdly, I think the only game I've thought we played really well was his first game in charge.

In the meantime we should keep Ole of course. I bet you many thought Bebe will come good eventually. It's the hope that never dies.

99% of United fans are blaming the board first and foremost. The difference is probably half of the fan base think Ole will come good under a different board.

Name 10 fans who believe he will come good.

Love the guy but we've seen what he is now as a manager and he's nowhere near good enough for this level. Looks utterly clueless and at this point I don't even think it's fair to compare him to Moyes as at least Moyes was actually a proven mid table Premier League manager before we appointed him. The experiment needs to come to an end.

We struggling to beat 17th place Rochdale at Old Trafford . You don't need process to win this comfortable right?

I think Ole would make a better DOF for United than a manager, he comes across as way too nice, and in an era of snowflakes and kids that get paid way to much, way to fast, there needs to be more balance, Jose was too negative, Ole is way too nice, LVG was Mr.Bean & Moyes belonged in Lord Of The Rings, but the reality is it's difficult to polish a turd, and that's exactly what's expected of managers that come here, they are expected to get the best out of really average players.

To be fair Ole's signings have seemed a lot better than the last 3 managers signings have, and they have only played a couple of games, that say's it all really.

I dont believe in this coaching crap.. these players are not good enough.. they are under pressure everytime they go in to play.. and make stupid mistakes, the press, social media is not helping.....
How many of our players would get into City, Liverpool, Spurs,Arsenal's team.. not even 1 ..maybe 1 -2 .. thats why we are where we are.. You can analyze strengths and weaknesses of opposing teams .. but if you buckle under pressure or are not better than the opposing player you lose .. That has been our problem.. We have a recruiting problem.. and we have a pressure cooker situation ...we keep buying dross .. or over the hill stars..thinking about stock market and clicks and advertisements.. The thing we are missing is a football structure .. and scouts that can identifu talent ..It will take us a long time to get on top again..

You don't believe in coaching?

We all love Ole, but he needs to go.
He did well in the market it seems but that’s not even close to being enough for him to be kept in the job.
We’re at the lowest we’ve been since 2013, the football is horrific, we are way under-coached, our form since March is absurd, we all love Ole but he is not going to be here for much longer, and he should’ve never been given the job in the first place, another season down the drain.

Next.

Оh boy, let's see.

lsd, roonster, Wolff, Patience, etc, etc.. Just look at the thread 10 pages ago.

We had the whole fanbase divided during the summer explaining how he will come good only after he's given couple of season and time.

Edit: still coming as well - The_Midfielder above..

We all of fans should understand just how important a manager is to improving the team and maximizing the players.

It just tells us enough when there's far more positivity surrounding Chelsea than us when they have a rookie manager too, sold their best player, got a transfer ban, have an average squad and got same points as us in the league, because you can see their rookie manager is applying a certain good style and young players are getting in the team, while their defense is costing them, thus he deserves more patience in terms of results and it's obvious with few more transfers in to solve their defensive problems.

While you look at us, you see absolutely nothing being applied on the pitch. Crap and uninspiring football, can't score more than a goal a game and winning every match even against League Ones side with utmost difficulty. There's really nothing to be positive at. We're not asking for results, just a coherent and good style applied on the pitch that shows there's work being done and it's only missing few key signings.

I would say we had about 5 games under him since December when we were truly superior to our opposition.

He's looking worse with each passing week. The board and insufficient investment is the main problem though. But we have the quality of players to beat rochdale in 90mins. Surely.

Tbf, the season always looked like a write off. The only question was can we build something for the future, establish a clear game plan and improve our play as well as individuals within. Would be happy with that.

Even from that perspective it looks pretty bad atm, but it is still too early imho.
The pressure is building though and if this keeps up he will find himself in trouble sooner than later.

A flat earther writes...

You don't believe in coaching?
The problem we have is not coaching.. It is the pressure that is getting on our players .. with high expectations.. and our poor recruitment.. You cannot coach a Smalling, Jones to make a 50 yard pass.. what we are lacking is recuitment and players that can play under pressure

The performances were already getting worse before he was made permanent. We just grinded out the result. This is why I said this
Thing is, do we know Ole wants that kind of football? For example, our first game under Ole he barely had any influence. McKenna and Carrick took over. That was our most progressive performance. Little by little we've gone into a counter attacking team no matter the opposition, with hardly any pressing, and much slower passing.

It's a good question to ask and I'm not trying to sour people on Ole. I'm still positive about Ole. I'm just trying to figure out what he wants his side to be like.
This was 1 day after he was made permanent, meaning my opinion was based on performances before that happened.
Have to remember that we used to play differently. Our pressing won us the ball back in dangerous areas which made it easier for those attackers to do their damage. We also played faster in regards to passing which made it easier to create chances.

I'm struggling to understand why the sudden change in play? Is right now how Ole wants us to play? Who knows. I understand why we don't press as much, but that doesn't explain the slower build up in attack.
A few days after he was made permanent.

Embarrassing interview after the match, claims that "that's the way we do things at United, we never do things the easy way, we've always been like that at this club" while saying he is extremely happy and what's the worst that can happen if you get knocked out? Christ, I wish I could lose my love for football. This is a shambles right now.
No way he said that.

I think people on here seem to think those of us that are unsatisfied want us winning every game by 3 goals or more.

We don't. I just want to see something implemented on the field. Some sort of progress.

I don't mind giving a manager time if there's something there.

If there's nothing there though, there's no fecking point.

Marcos Rojo cost more than their entire squad. And we needed pens.

We can blame Woodward and co for not being up with City and Liverpool but not for this. He clearly isn't good enough. Players looked lost and so down on confidence.

I just don’t get what happened to his ‘plan’? Pressing high, front foot, quick passing...

Patience would be in far more generous supply if we could see some glimmer of a strategy shining through. But we look like we only managed to stand on two legs this morning.

What the feck does that have to do with us being unable to defeat a League One side at Old Trafford ?

We have scored more than one goal in a single game just thrice in our 20 matches since PSG. Once in our last fourteen matches in all competitions.

The season is a write off already, mate. Look at our players, their confidence. We ain’t turning this around to manage a top four or an EL run.

Exactly. I'm fine with patience if there's something obvious to be implemented on the pitch and it needs time and few more key players. I'm not fine with patience just for the sake of it.

the main point isnt just a struggle in a single game. It is a struggle to see any sort of identity with this team. Especially with what Ole seemed to preach initially with what he supposedly wanted.
