Ole set up the team well, McTominay was a brave and good selection. Could have easily gone 2 up and everyone would be praising him.

Honeymoon period is well and truly over. He's the permanent manager now. Such terrible management of the game and subs is pretty worrying.

Hard to plan around brainfart red cards and silly own goals whilst missing multiple sitters. Also Wolverhampton are a decent side, although they didn't show much here, individual united mistakes did the job for them.

Or it could be fecking amazing, who knows?

That's the thing about the future, it hasn't happened yet. Your point is, if we're being generous, an absolutely fecking moronic one.
We needlessly gave ourselves a problem though. If we lost every game between now and the end of the season would it be the right choice for him to lead us into next season? Obviously we won’t but what has been gained by appointing him now?

Absolute dogshite subs today. Love him but terrible management.

Young got redcarded, he should have put Dalot on the right back and put on Martial, but he put on fecking Jones. Replaced Lukaku with Martial very late instead of adding fire power.

Very worrying management from him.
His in-game management hasn't been great at all barring a couple of games. And I absolutely get furious with him sitting there cross-legged while our team is still shite on the field. I so miss Fergie and how he used to tear into the players when they weren't up for it, even when they were on the field.

If this was a Mourinho performance, you lot would be slaughtering him.

Not having a dig at Ole, fact is these players are absolutely shocking and nothing will change on the pitch until there is a complete overhaul upstairs

Because Mourinho was doing it for years

We should have waited until the end of the season.

Ed Woodward can not make a decent decision, he has to be the most incapable man in a senior position to ever walk the earth.

Look it may well work out but there was NO reason to make this decision now. Utter disgrace.

How exactly does this game show he's the man for the job?

He set up the team perfectly. We dominated the game, missed two sitters and other chances. Was let down by a horrible mistake by Fred and a sending off.

Did you not watch it??

What was the problem with the management. He didnt say to Young to get a red card. Also attitude of some players is worrying.

The fact we're even in with a chance of top 4 is down to Solskjaer. Dont forget that.

His game mentality does seem to have changed to a very negative one recently.

He'll never be given those kind of resources. The whole point of sacking Mourinho was to expose the fact that this squad full of great players was massively underperforming due to the incompetence of the curmudgeonly manager.

I wouldn't expect more than two or three in.
Next season will be more of the same if we don't make the necessary changes. Players like Lingard, Young, Jones and Fred the way he's playing shouldn't be anywhere close to starting for a top 4 side and many of the players we consider to be good are just the best out of a very average bunch which doesn't say a lot. This isn't Solskjaer's fault. This is a recurring problem in every team since Sir Alex left. Our team doesn't have a right side. No proper right back and no proper right winger.

He set us up well. He can't help Young being a clown, Pogba being disinterested and lazy, Fred fecking up, our defense being shite, Lingard and Lukaku missing sitters etc. Many holes that need filling in our squad but not the manager.

Absolutely no blame on Ole. He played the right team on paper, we started right. They couldn't cope with our shape initially, and then we stopped playing.

Our squad quality is no way near close to what it should be. It's laughable if anyone thinks we don't need a new midfield, or that don't need a full back, or even that Martial/Rashford are dependable week in week out (I know neither reallly played today but it's a general point).

We need such a big retooling of the squad it's likely beyond consideration for Ed.

Make a decision on DDG.
Replace Herrera properly this time, not with mediocre talent.
Sign a right back that Dalot can be understudy for.
Sign a centre back or two.
Bring in an extra central midfielder to replace Matic.
Bring at least one player for the front 3 (ideally a right winger + a number 10).

Then start blaming Ole if he can't build a system with what he has after. The above likely won't happen. In reality I bet we will fluster on DDG until the 11th hour, replace Herrara with a bang average midfielder or internally through McTominay, we'll buy one centre back. And we'll go again for the same shit.

He might be a bit too soft. Doesn't strike me as capable of delivering a proper hair dryer.

Every sub was negative. When Young went off we should have just kept it at four at the back. When we needed a goal we took off Lukaku but not Lingard who just doesn't score or assist.
Then the final sub we still kept 3 of Jones, Smalling and Lindelof at the back with nothing to lose.

It's worrying how cautious he's been for a while now, most tactics to try to counter the opposition rather than force a gameplan on our own.

How can Ole be blamed for this??

Players missing sitters, ridiculous mistake for the goal and our captain getting himself sent off.

Many of our players are simply not good enough.

Young, Smalling, Jones etc. These guys would have struggled to play for a mid table team.

Ole needs to be blamed. The setup was not right, there was no need to play 3 at the back for a counter attacking team and one of the CB's being young! Lingard should have been subbed at half time along with young! These are decisions that manager needs to make so rightfully he should be blamed

but the fans in here talking about sacking him 2 games into his permanent tenure needs to check themselves! disgraceful

Also the same players missed all these things and more and Jose was always blamed :)

If this was a Mourinho performance, you lot would be slaughtering him.

Not having a dig at Ole, fact is these players are absolutely shocking and nothing will change on the pitch until there is a complete overhaul upstairs

No not really. If people blamed individual errors on Jose, they got called out for it and rightly so. This game was there to be won and we fecked it up by missing sitters and instead stupidly gifting them two goals when they hardly created any chances on their own

If this was 2020 then questions could have been asked, but this crop of players is not the quality we need to be what we want.

In game management is a real concern! Leaving lingard on to just keep running around the pitch and taking off Lukaku is ridiculous, same with Jones for Fred. Regardless he needs to be given the summer to sort out the squad. This game should have been wrapped up in the first 30 min!

This is, with the best will in the world, absolute bollocks.

We were completely comfortable in the game as a result of the Jones sub until Smalling scored a freak own goal.

Perfect tactics to begin the match. Dominating first half. Terrible ball loss by Fred in a dangerous position, brain-dead tackle by Young and chaos defending on 2-1. Yeah, it is "obviously" Ole's fault.

If the logic that individual players influence is always to blame over the objectivity of assessing a mangers actions, then Mourinho would still be here and we would have the likes of Willian, Godin and Milinkovic Savic.

Ole is solely responsible for the results just as much as he is for the success we have had, it's not one way yesterday then a different rule the next.

Ole got given the job after 3 months in charge, can anyone here tell me a detailed aspect that guarantees he will be a success here in years to come.

This is what we expected when it came to Ole.

Even those who aren't questioning his appointment but merely criticising bits and bobs are getting their heads bitten off.
It's the new norm for sure. Going to be tough to be an objective supporter going forward.

We should have been 3-0 up after 20 minutes. There's not much the manager can do about poor finishing. We played some pretty good football in that period.

The really problem we face is the same we've had for years now. Our players, especially those at centre half, simply aren't good enough. Lindelof maybe has a future at United, but Smalling and Jones have bene at United for almost a decade each and they've barely improved as players. Get rid.

What was the problem with the management. He didnt say to Young to get a red card. Also attitude of some players is worrying.

I discussed that in an earlier post.

Putting Jones in for Fred after the red was terrible management. Should have put Dalot back on the right back and put in Martial with Lukaku and Lingard upfront and played with Scott and Pogba in midfield. That sub was terrible, then he waited very late to put in Martial and it was for another attacker, Lukaku! He killed his ability to add more fire power with this.

The attitude was trash but Ole's management of the game after the red card was terrible. His first intent was to add more defenders while he already have a right back shoehorned in right wing that could have covered for Young.

Because Mourinho was doing it for years

My point is, lots said it was all him and not the players.

Fact is, it's the players too! Pogba included! Solskjaer has a hell of a job on his hands but, he will get the United mentality back to the playing staff*

*If he gets the time

Criminal he allowed Lingard to play the full 90mins. Rashford and Lingard could have absolute stinkers and you're sure Ole will leave them on because "they're good boys, proper United boys who know what the club is about".

I said it a few weeks ago, Ole has no clue on how to salvage a result that's running away from him. If his plan A doesn't work you can bet your last penny that we'll get taken apart and lose or get taken apart and get lucky through DDG heroics and win.

How the feck do you leave Lingard on and sub Lukaku when chasing a goal? I mean what kind of abysmal decisions was that?

Wolves have got Ole's number.

That's 2 games now we've failed to deal with their fast counter play.

The honeymoon period is over. Time for him to step up now and prove to us why he deserves that contract.

Dont know how you can blame ole. We should have finished the game in the first 25 minutes. Then you make 2 god awful mistakes under no pressure.

Where is his fault in this?

Let's hope he is able to get his transfer targets this summer.
No manager would be able to get this team to play wonderful football on a constant basis.

For a while now?

We made history in the CL when we beat PSG a few games ago. Yeah, the games that followed haven't been great, but we weren't bad against Arsenal, just undone by them being clinical, and tonight has been down to poor individual moments rather than anything to do with Solskjaer.
History is our most recent performances!

They have been lacklustre since PSG which let’s be honest, was very fortunate

Our squad has looked old and sub standard for years. Ole has taken them ss far as he can with the good vibe and smiles etc but nothing can cover up the poor staff we have.

It’s a huge task ahead, he needs backing financially, the right players and showing tactical nous. The last 3 games have shown that we lack 2 of those at least
