What's wrong with him hugging and smiles every now and then?

Because apparently to be a manager of Manchester United, you have to spit your dummy out at all times on the sidelines and act like child having a tantrum.

Being cool, calm and collected is overrated (and that means you smile even when you're disappointed).

Trying so hard to be rational about the Ole appointment, of course he needs time (Pep and Klopp was given time to build their team and look where they are now). But these past 9 games are an shameful,I certainly wouldn't sack Ole, but if Ed did I wouldn't care one bit.

Some proper cnuts here. Anyone wanting to get rid of a manager without him having a preseason with a transfer window can feck off for all I care. Utter disgrace to out fanbase.

What's the story with us playing with no width. Were dog shite to watch. This narrow midfield is useless. Every time we had ball going forward in full back positions everyone bunched up in middle no options wide. Depressing watching other teams have a playing style and were stuck watching that crap. Looks like players not coached at all. Clueless when we have ball going forward.

Because he is a legend we will give him two more seasons during which time he will drag us to Leicester's level.

Neither did they. Higuain had one chance and so did Rojo. We were easily the better team in the first half. DDG cost us once again and you can't blame OGS for that.

You absolutely can. DDG has made several big mistakes that have cost us in recent weeks. Have the bollocks to drop him for a more than capable number 2 we have.

He hasn't got the balls to drop De Gea. I knew he'd still be in goal again today.

Stood on the touchline in that Man Utd coat reminded me of David Moyes.

They didn't have to. They came for the draw. We were maybe slightly better team in the first half but again we didn't manage to create pretty much anything apart from the goal. Second half was a disgrace, absolutely no desire to score and the last substitution pretty much confirms that.

Whoever the manager is needs a proper pre-season. The squad is so unfit it's a joke.

I am not sure it's down to Ole, I mean we completely outclassed Chelsea with more than 65% possession in 30 minutes and have more chances created and seem likely to score another goal until De Gea's mistakes. Chelsea hasn't troubled us so much, they hardly can create a chance.

If De Gea didn't make mistakes, you'd be all praising Ole's performance.

If there's the thing I learn from this forum reactionary, praise him whenever he wins and criticizes him when lost or draw even if a player missed sitters that probably could have sealed victory or make mistakes that led to draw or lose.

We started well though, but that might be more due to having lots of energy. When energy levels go down we don't have a clue how to create chances.

Nobody is perfect and there are issues for me with Ole as a manager but reading people taking offense of every criticism and making it out as a call for his head, there is no point of discussion.

that's never going to happen, Jose has more pedigree as a manager and it was two seasons more or less and he's out the door. If the team isn't playing well and results by Christmas are woeful, Ole will follow suit and be out the door.

What worries is me is that Ole's default tactic is to have us try to open up teams in 2-3 passes usually involving long balls. It looks nice when it works (first half hour today) but I'm afraid there's no top team that isn't capable of dominating through quality possession play, and I'm not seeing Ole trying to inculcate that at all.

His focus appears to be on
  • High tempo
  • Direct, often long, passing
  • Not much emphasis of possession play and opening teams up through short intricate passing
  • Pace, physicality and stamina

I could be wrong but I am genuinely worried that when we need to move towards the City's and Barcelona's of this world, we appear to be headed in the opposite direction

I hope Ole through his signings allays these fears. But if we're targeting players like Rice that everyone wants, I fear we'll never be headed in the direction we need to

Yes, imagine we had a really tall player who had good chest control and could score goals using his head? Man, he'd be quite useful in this team epsecially when our only tactic is to play long.

Wow, unbelievable.

He's our manager ffs get behind him.

He's going nowhere, get used to it I hope and pray he turns it around then we'll see what you lot have gotta say.

Absolutely pathetic.

Happens mate, a bunch plastic fans not willing to have any patience, even for a club legend.
It would've been the same no matter who was the manager, take no notice.

Hes going to get slated pillar to post for not being able to drag a side into the champions league that has no right being in it to begin with.
If we can get the right players in, we'll improve under Solskjaer, I'm certain of it.
The right players do not want to come play Europa league games in the far corners of Europe for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer..

No CL has killed us

Spot on. Anyone with a differing opinion is (a) not a proper fan (b) mildly retarded (c) an impatient 12 year old.

Plastic, embarrassing display from our fans on here right now.

Heads should be hung in shame.

Trying so hard to be rational about the Ole appointment, of course he needs time (Pep and Klopp was given time to build their team and look where they are now).

Pep and Klopp came into their respective teams as world class managers. they had titles, cups and CL finals. both of them.

Ole relegated Cardiff in his first go at top level management, then ran away to some fishermen league.

there is absolutely nothing indicating that given time Ole will have a similar effect on us that Pep and Klopp had on their current clubs.

are you guys ok?

Weak management from him once more. Sticks with his favorites, lads not on form still get picked. Odd subs again as well, Alexis shouldn’t even be on the bench.

De Gea needed to be dropped. He’s served us unbelievably well but his form stinks.

Genuinely a bit worried how far we might sink.

Me too, I can easily see us doing what Arsenal have done since their last title.
The ownership and the way this club is being run worries me a hell of a lot, Ole being in hasn’t changed anything for me with regards to our long term plans.

I’ve seen this team look out of ideas like that under Mourinho, under LVG.

It’s plainly obvious it’s the players. Lack of quality is obvious.

The bolded worries me immensely. The build up is direct and lacking in method. PL has come a long way from playing end to end for 90 minutes. We are going to Continue getting thoroughly outplayed if he doesn't adopt a more methodical philosophy than playing fast and running hard

he has to take some blame for that 2nd half though. Why the drop off? if he has players not executing the plan he wants he needs to make the changes and get players on who will follow his instructions. They went out there to do nothing for 52 minutes in that 2nd half.

The reason we won't be in the champions league next season is down to Mourinho and the players no one else .

To even suggest it's the fault of Ole is shocking

It’s a hard pill to swallow but I was totally wrong. Solskjaer don’t have it inside him. I don’t need to see more..

We will probably continue with him and that’s a huge mistake.....AGAIN.

The draw result is fair reflection of the game. We didn't really created many chances. We played the whole of second half in walking pace. We didn't force the issue at all. It's embarrassing and shameful to witness this team of man utd. Absolutely zero fight in them. If SAF was still in charge only handful of these players will make his squad.

Rodgers has been at Leicester for how long?
Look at how they're playing and the plan and style he has coached into those players and none of them are his...

Ole meanwhile, is the exact opposite. Players might not be good enough but, they're certainly not 2 wins out of 9 bad

Will be very surprised if he's here come Christmas
Shhh, everyone still thinks you need 5 years to implement your basic tactics.

Great post. Completely highlights my feeling on the game and situation.

Only Cardiff, Brighton and Huddersfield have less points than us over the last 7 games.

Since Ole's appointment we've gone from form that would challenge for the title to fighting against relegation

I'm sure it's all Ole's fault though and not the attitude of the players that changed.

Yes. I was optimistic about Ole earlier. But I really hope his signings in the summer prove these fears wrong. Otherwise we are truly fecked.
