Out of his depth. Even more than Moyes. Totaly incompetent for this level. I really hope that Ed will eat the bullet and sack him. He is not the right man. It is clear as a day. 500mil and 2-3 transfer windows can't chynge that. You have talent and knowledge for something or you don't. He doesn't have it.
Of course after the match he will throw some phrases and fans will go crazy.
Perhaps your own judgement isn't as precise as you may think. Writing him off as incompetent, talentless and out of knowledge just comes across as arrogant on your part.

This.

I'd have faith in Ole in a manager if he publically said "right this team is getting torn about. One or two will stay and you'll see a new squad from next season"

Instead he's said "we won't make too many changes".

If he actually ends up making less than 5 transfers he's made his bed. Assuming that's his intention of course.
This is so stupid it’s beyond me. Any manager in the world (in any capacity) would never act the way you suggest.

Back to ole I didn’t think we set up that badly today. Front two did nothing but the rest of the team did well. Losing the first goal killed us. Hardly his fault

Meh. City are literally years ahead of us. Their superior quality was always likely to see anything Solskjaer did today end up failing.

That said, given that Solskjaer was appointed pretty much entirely based on his results with Manchester United, it's noteworthy that his results with Manchester United have seen us go from 6th (19 points behind 1st) to 6th (25 points behind 1st).

Pep is not a gamble. Neither is Klopp probably. So no not every manager is a gamble, but Ole was.

Firstly, neither is a realistic choice.

Secondly, Klopp has the same amount of trophies as Ole in England! Zilch!

He said just a day ago that now isn’t the time to talk about those kinds of decisions. He has to try to get results until the end of the season utilizing the players currently at his disposal.

There is nothing wrong losing to those team, but at least give them a battle. Statistics has it we have spend more on players than Barcelona, Madrid and PSG. Yet, we have looked miles away from them.

Exactly my point. We've been reduced to a shit underdog. fecking Bristol City played better against City last season.

You do understand that Ole is an appalling inadequate manager for a club with our (supposed) standards and aspirations. When we look back in a few years from now his appointment will be seen as the absolute nadir of our decline in the post-Ferguson era. If it isn't then I dread to think just how much further we possibly could have fallen.

Go to bed now - Childrens tv ended hours ago

I keep reading “let Ole have a chance to bring in his own players”.. so who are these players? What is this style of play Ole is supposedly trying to create? I read that he said “my team will work the hardest..” that isn’t a trait, that should be fecking minimum requirement.

Nothing whatsoever about Ole convinces me he is the right man for the job.

I also find it bizarre that people expect us to completely change our team within one transfer window when there isn't a single club that ever does that. You can see substantial change, yes, but it's going to take several seasons for the squad to be of a completely different look to what it is now, and no manager gets afforded that much time if they're failing. Especially one who's not really got any credentials to demonstrate he'll make a good job of it in the long-run.

And if the problem within the club is a toxic atmosphere within the dressing room - well, again, that's not going to go away instantly. Even with a change in personnel you're still going to have a situation where the majority of your players were ones who were there the year before, and who'll have been used to that previous atmosphere.

The fact is, when the current team was working hard they were getting the results, despite the squad being bang average. That shows to me that if Ole has loyal and dedicated players by his side he can deliver. Come the end of season fact is at least we put up a fight for top 4, something that seemed impossible if you recall.
At least he deserves a war chest and a pre-season before a write-off don't you agree?

You really live in FM don't you?

If the man in charge of bringing/selling those players is useless then he can't do anything, Same thing happened with previous managers.

Exactly!! With same players who are now "shit".

In truth, the board got what they wanted. A yes man. One the fans would never turn on and would find it hard to be vocal against. I love Ole to bits but I reckon he might regret taking this shitfest of a job.

Let’s just say that there is nothing in his tactical approach that gives us a hint about our future identity.

This isn't some absolute trait in a player though. Some players are dedicated but disloyal; others are potentially loyal but not necessarily as hard-working as you'd like them to be. Similarly a loyal player can quickly become loyal when he finds himself in a dressing room, or when he improves and starts to get interest from other clubs, and a dedicated player may soon lose his verve if he has a fall-out with the manager.

Not publicly as much as we'd enjoy seeing it, but behind the scenes for a club as shit as ours of course. Assuming there are players available of course.

There are so many players up for grabs that can improve us this summer. Behind the scenes he must be looking at wholesale changes. But he said he's not.

He said just a day ago that now isn’t the time to talk about those kinds of decisions. He has to try to get results until the end of the season utilizing the players currently at his disposal.

He said he won't be making 6 or more transfers. The way our side looks, 5 is too less.

In defence of Ole, has any team ever had a tougher run of fixtures?
PSG
Arsenal
Wolves
Watford
Wolves
Barca
West Ham
Barca
Everton
Man City
Chelsea
That's brutal.

That would be a stupid thing to say and an even more stupid thing to actually expect.

If that's what you think he should be saying then it reflects an awful lot more on you than him.

I talk only about what i see. I don't see any football style, i don't see that our teamcreating chances and i don't see our team scoring goals.
I see that team which last year was winning games( ugly but still) now can't even shoot on goal. And btw, it is the same team.

This notion that you can't make comments or observations about a manager till he has spent 200m is new. Only on here. How do poor clubs evaluate their managers? I mean I understand wanting to hold off on a final conclusion but in the interim you can make a series of observations about things like tactical decisions

Firstly, neither is a realistic choice.

You didn't say realistic options, plus both those managers were available at times we were looking to appoint in the past five years, but we didn't get them. That's on Ed and the board.

Why are we.gambling on managers like Ole when we could and should have got either of those two?

If we now want a young up coming manager then why not choose one who actually has a defined style of play, experience in champions League and plays young players like Julian Nagelsmann? I'm not necessarily advocating that, but at least that would make more sense than ole.

I don’t agree because I never wanted him in the first place and right now, this form is doing nothing to change my mind about whether he deserves a summer or not.

City completely outclassed us. They are going to win the majority of trophies in the next 10 years.
