Not his fault that the players are so shite. We should judge him after the preseason, when he gets rid of the dross hopefully.

Some of you are honestly mental with this criticism.

Mourinho (and the players) killed the season dead. Ole resurrected it (and it's still not over even if we lose tonight). Just chill out.

You do understand that Ole is an appalling inadequate manager for a club with our (supposed) standards and aspirations. When we look back in a few years from now his appointment will be seen as the absolute nadir of our decline in the post-Ferguson era. If it isn't then I dread to think just how much further we possibly could have fallen.

At least last season, we had the character to come back from behind. All this United fecking way bullshit and we crumble the second we concede.

Not even close. He could lose the remaining games and have a full summer before that is considered
This is Man United and surely Ed will see a shiny toy of a manager and jump on him. Logic is not our greatest organizational quality.

He has let our standards drop so low you would guess that we are wearing the blue of Cardiff not the red of Manchester United. We look so different from how we were playing during the honeymoon period. Is this really Manchester United? I know we are better than this.

Needed any form of a result tonight, 10 minutes to go he decides to go for it when 2 down. It’s just too slow a reaction

I'm worried we will fritter away another season before Woodward realizes it. Ole may come good but this isn't the right time to gamble with an unproven manager.

Every appointment is a gamble. Can anyone guarantee that if poch took over in the summer we will fight for title/top 4.

Also, was there a more proven manager than Jose?.

Looks well and truly out of his depth. And what exactly is Carrick's role on the bench?

Please tell me how you (random internet person) are qualified to say such a thing.

I mean, we can probably get a clue on this after he gets some of his players in and has a pre-season but until then, you really don't have a clue.

One more defeat and I think he is out. I mean we lost 7 out of 9 or something similar?

Considering those included Arsenal away/ 2 Barca/City/ Wolves away (second one we should have won but you can't miss sitters and expect to win.) Yeah lets sack a manager who hasn't even had the chance to bring in his own players and its not like we have Great players, most won't even get into spurs 11.

so, winning run = ole
losing run = the players

?
Winning games with defensive tactics under Jose: "boooo Jose, sack him Ed, he is not good for United way, toxic piece of shit, how he dares to criticize players"
Losing games without any tactics under Ole: it is not Ole's fault.

Secret: Ole lose with smile on his face

100% - weve created feck all against Barca PSG and City at home. fecking disgusting.

Newcastle beat City. Palace beat City. We cant even create a couple of chances against these gods.

I have his back till the end but if he fails to get rid of the useless dross that's been burdening us for years and gets in proper talent to replace them then I'll turn against him quickly.

Nah the players obviously did their part too in the winning run.

you took issue with criticism aimed at the manager and attributed the "resurgence" to him. If you're going to give him credit for the winning run then he sure as hell holds criticism for the 7th loss in 9 games.

He’s a legend and that’s not going to change, but appointing him when we did was a massive error by this club. There was just no need in making a decision until the end of the season.

The club has absolutely no direction. Nobody knows what there doing. Have they done anything right since sir Alex retired?

It’s seems we’ll never get back to where we once was. Nobody seems to care enough.

Every decision the club makes is wrong, and no thought goes into anything. We’re just sleep walking into one mistake after another. Where do we go next?

We sacked Mourinho to hire an inferior manager because he is a legend of the club (something which has no correlation to his ability to manage Manchester United) and because he will make the players happy etc. Feck these players tbh. They deserve to be pushed and made uncomfortable. They're all a sack of shits.

Hiring him after a honeymoon period also shows how fecking clueless we are as a club.

His tactics against any half decent team is 5 in defence with 2 isolated strikers, it's so fecking predictable now.

It's Mourinho football, just done less effectively.

For the same reasons that you also know but simply won't admit to.

I remember back when we first brought him in on an interim basis, most people said he'd have to do an extraordinary job to get the job full-time. Which was fair, considering his credentials were limited at best and he was largely seen as a stopgap.

If we'd been told in advance he'd have a spell during the season where we lost 7 games out of 9, I'm not sure a single person would've backed him to get the job in the long-term. Which is my major issue here. For as excited as I was initially there's not a lot of evidence to suggest he's going to be particularly successful in the long-term, much as I want to be wrong.

Pretty much, same people making both arguments too oddly.

We played significantly better football last season.

Nothing can be gleaned from this season. We will know what style Ole wants us to play only in the first game of next season. This squad is broken regardless of his quality as manager.
While I agree that the quality of our players is really poor - the likes of Lingard and Lukaku shouldn't be anywhere near the team while Young should not even be allowed near the stadium - the coaching or lack thereof is absolutely clear. If he cannot imprint any style in 5-6 months, then I doubt he will suddenly get them playing amazing from next season. He has been a disaster it seems and we are currently in relegation form like his Cardiff were.

I was not flying the "let's sack ole flag", jeez.

This.

I'd have faith in Ole in a manager if he publically said "right this team is getting torn about. One or two will stay and you'll see a new squad from next season"

Instead he's said "we won't make too many changes".

If he actually ends up making less than 5 transfers he's made his bed. Assuming that's his intention of course.

He does because he's in the hot seat - all managers do. I just think the weight of criticism for not keeping the run going and then seeing our players confidence hit rock bottom is bit heavily tilted in his direction. Frankly it's dumb.

Let him actually do some work first (a pre-season at least) and let's see how we look.

If we look the same as this by Xmas, I'll probably be considering him a mistake like some of you have already decided but until then, I think it's nuts to draw many conclusions bar our players are low, low quality. Just fecking watch them.

There is nothing wrong losing to those team, but at least give them a battle. Statistics has it we have spend more on players than Barcelona, Madrid and PSG. Yet, we have looked miles away from them.

Agree with this too. In contrast, remember that Klopp had Liverpool playing in his style during the half-season he took over from Rodgers. I think we will lose about 6-7 games next season and lag behind the rest before Ed wakes up as usual.

The issue is we losing all these games playing like Burnley. We shouldn’t be playing like Burnley. No idea why he switched to 5 at the back.

Again, even as someone extremely reluctant to get rid considering how reactionary it would feel, what's he done to actually warrant being worthy of making those signings in the summer?

Pep is not a gamble. Neither is Klopp probably. So no not every manager is a gamble, but Ole was.

I keep reading “let Ole have a chance to bring in his own players”.. so who are these players? What is this style of play Ole is supposedly trying to create? I read that he said “my team will work the hardest..” that isn’t a trait, that should be fecking minimum requirement.

Nothing whatsoever about Ole convinces me he is the right man for the job.
