I agree it probably won't but it's hardly doing any harm?

Hopefully not, but it does depend on how it's done. If it's just a normal training session then business as usual. If he gives a speech and goes full nostalgia it might put some people off (they are there to train not get a history lesson). Sorry for being a bit negative, I'm not trying to be, but Ole seems to push the club really hard. For example, he said he didn't park in SAF's car spot, which is just weird, he's not the manager anymore doesn't work day to day there, it's just a parking spot.

Not much evidence of that recently.

Feels like we’re back where we were under Mourinho where we have no idea what we’re trying to do.

Regardless of a good summer or not, I think he will be sacked before Xmas. He has limited options but he doesn't even select the best possible XI.

Not that I mind if we lose tonight, but am I right in thinking that it'll be 7 defeats in 9 if we do? Feck me, that's Cardiff City level atrocious.

That is because we are playing City who are the only ones that can stop Liverpool this season. He is playing Darmian who hasn't played at all this season and Pereira that only gets junk minutes. Ole gets the club and knows he has to take one for the team.

I get that we all want City to win, but I don't somehow think Ole is deliberately setting us up to lose.

Four of those defeats came from two teams. We had to face the mighty Wolves twice, and some other club called barca.

I can only accept one loss in that which is Barca away. A club like us should be getting draws or wins in the rest.

Last time we did that was twice in the seasons post-Munich. Only times post WWII.

You may not be aware of SAF's autobiography.

“I could always feel their breath on my neck from 30 miles away...When a club of Liverpool’s history and tradition pull off a treble of cup wins, as they did in 2001, with the FA, League and UEFA trophies under Gerard Houllier, you are bound to feel a tremor of dread. My thought that year was ‘Oh no, not them. Anybody but them.'”

Nothing wrong with that line up. The perfect line up was the Everton game, look how that turned out! Martial, matic and lukaku deserved to be dropped. The work rate will be better tonight

Quite true. But times have changed. Ole has to answer to Ed now, he doesn't have unbridled power like SAF had. And Ed wants top 4, which has financial ramifications.

Ole will be professional rather than pandering to the fanbase. But as fans, I think we won't be too upset with a loss today for sure.

You must have missed the last 4 months. All Ole does is pander to the fanbase, because he is a fan at heart, he gets the club. Ole will want to win, but if we lose he will do a dance of celebration just like SAF used to do when we got one over Liverpool.

Spot on tactics from Ole thus far.

Shame he couldn't have done it against Everton and this game will likely hand Liverpool the title.

But can't fault him tonight tactically.

Its a shame that I want us to lose but Ole has done really well and in truth, I'm regaining a little confidence in him. Where the feck was this over the last 6 weeks?

Edit: meh

I don't see tactically the amazement in the first half to signify anything, have we created a clear cut chance from open play in our last couple games?

Nothing can be gleaned from this season. We will know what style Ole wants us to play only in the first game of next season. This squad is broken regardless of his quality as manager.

If we didn't hire him when we did, no one would have wanted him hired now.

We have no direction at this club.

Another defeat (expected or not) to add to the list. Soooooo glad we hired him during a good spell where we played a bunch of shit.

A bit yes. I said that if we don't score in the first half we lost. Too much intensity without anything gained in that half. The players aren't able to keep it up whilst City are playing a 90 minute game of football.

Although city are way, way better than us and we had no chance but your keeper cannot make 2 silly errors and your attacking players cannot miss an open goal.

I remember when this used to be a striker issue. Now it's a manager issue...

I think there is an owners issue, CEO issue, director of football issue, coaches issue, scouts issue, goalkeeper issue, defence issue, midfield issue, strikers issue, ground investment issue.

Have I missed anything?

There's a poll where the fans voted for him. In that poll, Ole had more votes than Pochettino. So, it seems what most of the fans wanted.

What's Ole stats since he signed as permanent manager?

Don’t think OGS will be here this time next year. His record is bloody shocking in terms of both results and performance

Some of you are honestly mental with this criticism.

Mourinho (and the players) killed the season dead. Ole resurrected it (and it's still not over even if we lose tonight). Just chill out.

Out of his depth. Even more than Moyes. Totaly incompetent for this level. I really hope that Ed will eat the bullet and sack him. He is not the right man. It is clear as a day. 500mil and 2-3 transfer windows can't chynge that. You have talent and knowledge for something or you don't. He doesn't have it.
Of course after the match he will throw some phrases and fans will go crazy.

That’s because there is a lot of romantic loons around here.
