Go for it.
I've never been but the general impression I get from fans that do go and go to other large football stadiums is that it's not really up to scratch.
If they reckon they can find the money for the investment and that it will increase the value of the club more than it will cost then I don't see why they wouldn't do it.
Please no. Love that stadium.
Who pays? How is the budget to be realized?
And whilst all this revamping is going on, do we get to buy a player or two? Or am I to assume, if that's the case, that the Joel et al are going to foot the bill ( be nice for a change )?
Madison Square Garden
Yeah, they've totally committed to pre-preliminary discussions.Fair play.
Wonder what our debt will eventually stand at, given the half a billion we're still saddled with after they leveraged the shite out of us in the first place? The club will surely borrow the money.
Update the public areas and replace the roof with something of the 21st century.
If the South Stand can be redone then great, but if not, doing the above would be a good start.
I, on one occasion, was one of the aforementioned "wankers" and it's as sterile an experience as you can possibly imagine.I mean, I can see them doing up the corporate wanker boxes. Would be very surprised if anything else happened.

Yeah that Southern shit cheese crumbles when under pressure! We can have a cheese room of our very own! Filled with strong Northern cheese and not that mild namby pamby Southern shite.
The upper quadrants would be more visible. Not nice.
Some Gullible suckers will lap this up and actually believe them.
Would bet my house that they don’t re-build even one stand. This is the tactic they do for years, always drop stories about ‘considering’ or ‘planning’. People who actually do stuff just do it, they don’t talk about it for years or wait for a riot in their stadium. They are con artists of the highest level, hence their leveraged buyout and sale of shares ever since.
Your distrust of the Glazers is understandable but let's be clear here. A project of this size takes time to get underway. RFPs go out and bids are tendered, then reviewed. You need approval from local government as well. The process takes a long time and there will be some wind of it in the press because Manchester United putting out a request for propsals to redevelop or rebuild Old Trafford is going to get noticed and because it's United, it's newsworthy. So by all means make comments about the Glazers and the (un)likelihood of them spending any of their own money to do this but don't come here and tell us that the process is a 'just do it' kind of thing that goes under the radar, because it's not.
So gross. Can we not share City stadium?
Of course the South Stand can be done. And it has to be for this to be an acceptable project.
If they come out with a line that it is cost prohibitive or impossible then that's a load of nonsense because there are many stadiums in the world now that are built over train tracks.
To be fair Liverpool are flying along with their rebuilds.
Done one then approved a second sharpish. Shows what having an actual intent to do something can achieve
Could we not have something like St James Park? I always think that roof looks much better.
It's pretty old but overall it's far better than most other stadiums, I've not been to Spurs yet and obviously it's supposed be fantastic but other than that give me Old Trafford over any other ground in the country. Wembley is utter shite and genuinely one of my least favourite stadiums at any level, Emirates is a classic soulless bowl, Newcastle is just weird as feck, Etihad is shite and feels older than OT, Anfield has character but obviously I'm not keen but I'd rather do what they are doing than flatten the place. The roof needs doing obviously but in terms of wow factor there's nowhere else like it in this country. I've got mates who follow seven or eight different clubs and Old Trafford is their favourite stadium in the league.I've never been but the general impression I get from fans that do go and go to other large football stadiums is that it's not really up to scratch.

We should just work a deal out to go on tour with the WWE (or whatever they call themselves these days) playing a different stadium every weekend. Maybe a few of our players could find a new path where faking it is actively encouraged.
Burger King StadiumFair enough. I’m all for a new stadium if it’s on the same site and is still called Old Trafford and not some stupid sponsorship name.
