wow, you even waited, finger paused above the submit button to do it at just the right time...what a loser.

go beat your kids Murt, it's probably only been a couple of hours since you drunkenly beat the feck out of them for coming home from school with better grades than you vcould ever manage.

what a cnut you are.

Was just out there last Saturday afternoon/evening for Hollywood Stars Night and game against the Twins. Sean Astin (Samwise) and Michael Rosenbaum (Sp? - Lex on Smallville) were by far the best players. That Rosenbaum kid hit two home runs, both of them absolute bombs. OF fence for the game was in short OF area - he got them about 325-350ft. out to RF proper. With a softball, that's talent. He could have reached the seats with a baseball.

And, yes, I took a handful of warning track dirt from CF and grass from the OF as I was leaving to go to my seats. Don't act like you wouldn't.

I definitely would have...I'm going to have to do that at the last game at Yankee Stadium whenever it is.

Why'd they go and spoil an unblemished vomit of concrete by sticking a park in it?
That's nothing - LA is a baseball town, here's some proof.

The city forcibly removed hundreds of mexican/latino immigrants from the Chavez Ravine area in the late 50s, citing emminent domain, after Walter O'Malley had taken a Helicopter trip with the then mayor of the city (the name escapes me) and said "Who lives there?" Answer: "No one really, latin immigrants."

O'Malley: Oh, I would've said 'Yes, we'll move' right this second if it was available.

Mayor: It's available - or, will be.

O'Malley: I'll have it.

Mayor: Welcome to LA.

The cement and the team came after. As a Mexican-American, I have some pause about the history of my team and its stadium, but...I've come to accept that we all have things in our past that we'd like to forget - mine being the Kid'n'Play high-top fade I had in the early 90s.

I have straight, dark hair. What a complete fecking mess that was. Things are much better now, though.

Please share your thoughts...I'd be surprised, nah...flabbergasted...if you have ever been to Texas.

dont know where you get off mate. but yeah, i have been to texas, been to dallas and my parents used to live out in arizona so ive driven through parts of it. and no, i think texas is a right shithole. sure, some of the cities are nice, but the general suburban/rural/white trash landscape of it is pretty much crap. also learn to take a joke, like much of this post for example, before you respond about how i need to be more tolerant of people.

i think you would find alot of americans, especially from the east coast, agree that texas is one of their least favorite parts of the country. im not trying to be a dick, im just not a texas fan, which i would expect alot of people from the northeast to agree with, theyre two quite different cultures.

and ive been to liverpool as a kid when i lived in the uk, and i didnt think it was that bad, it obviously had some poorer industrial aspects to it much like manchester, but i remember liking it.

Giant fans and J-E-T-S fans hate each other just as much. Most Jet fans are Mets fans, probably because the Jets used to play at Shea.

you think so?

i cant vouch for new york cause i havent grasped much of the football culture. but it seems in football that most of the rivalry is divisional. giants fans generally hate the cowboys, redskins and eagles (the cardinals dont count) and not the jets as much. i think youre right that alot of jet fans are mets fans, but in new jersey it seems that alot of the giants fans wouldnt mind seeing the jets win and vice versa. unlike baseball fans in the area, where most mets fans seem to hate the yankees etc.

If you were to take some clippers, gradually fade up the back and the sides of Panch's hair until all that remained was the hair on top, lighten the skin-tone and make him look a bit like Andy Garcia...you'ld have an idea of what was going on. Appalling.

feck the Yankees.

dallas/all of texas is the biggest shithole state in the nation.

I actually like Texans. They are far more polite than the New York city pricks (who, while having attitudes, are really nothing more than a bunch of pussies). Mets fans, of course, are the exception to that rule.

The new Yankee Stadium will look nice with all those championship banners hanging there.

Too bad you won't be getting new banners anytime soon--unless, of course, your team joins a retirement home league ;)

i dont mean texans themselves necessarily. theyre usually quite fun, or at least the few ive met at school are pretty laid back.

but the state as a whole, i dont know why, it just vexes me. would you want to live there mathias?

and i am from new jersey, so your shot at me failed my good man. although i am a pussy.

The only Micks allowed in this thread are the one's who live in the New World. Go back to growing your taters in Viking-land.

Jersey folks are even worse. A bunch of New York City (or, if you live in the south of the state, Philly) wannabes.

As for the state of Texas. San Anton and Dallas are pretty cool, though Houston is a smoggy shit-hole.

Go to Upstate New York and ask the people what they think of the NYC. I'm sure you would be amused ;)

nyc wannabes? bah! i scoff. we're just wannabe elitist NE pricks.

and although i personally dont like texas cities, theres nothing really wrong with them. i think its kind of the rural landscape of the state i dont like as much.

hold on while i think of a good stereotype about people from DC to mock you with... (help me out, i got nothing)

even north and south jersey hate each other!

i never meant to imply that everyone loves new yorkers. i think the "new yorker" is one of the more disliked stereotypes, along with the elitist massachusetts liberal, in the united states. and i may throw in the "texas cowboy" along with it.

I'm not from DC. Hell, no one is originally from DC (unless, of course, you live in the Southeast part of the city).

As for rural landscapes, those are the best. I have spent well over half of my life in rural areas.

you grew up in texas? and i just assumed your location meant you lived in DC. does that mean youre from civil war losing virginia? ;)

in jersey i live next to a damn llama farm, some its pretty rural here. but i meant the texas landscape in particular. although to each his own i guess. just not me cup of tea.

New Englanders are widely disliked. Hell, I spent years in boarding school in NE, and I think the only people I find more annoying than NYC people are those from CT, VT and MA (the people from NH and ME are, somehow, better off than the rest).

I was born (and grew up) in the mountains of Upstate NY.

yeah i have to agree with that. i guess i am the elitist New Englander and its us that dont like the texas stereotype. flash can vouch for that along with me. But yeah, i guess if i were to get to know alot of people outside the northeast id realized we were the most hated group in the country.

so, i raise my glass to that!

what state you originally from mathias? down south?

i have lots of family in Albany and chatham, not sure if thats what you mean by upstate. but its quite nice up in that area.

Albany isn't that Upstate. Try Lake Placid.

Its the land where the real men reside (as opposed to the city, where the people were pro-British during the Revolutionary War and rioted during the Civil War) ;).

ahh thats vacation territory for us!

the company my dad used to work for had a bobsled and shite up there. so we'd go up there all the time for skiing/using the olympic bobsled track thing. it was quite couth.

oh, you been watching the US in the fifa youth championships? i started a thread about it in the football forum.

In 1978, the Sox blew a 14 game lead over the Yankees. Now there's a choke. If you look up choke in the dictionary, you'll see a picture of the Red Sox. Why do you think they didn't win anything for 86 years? Repeating is tougher than winning one. One year doesn't change anything - the Red Sox still suck.
