NY Yankees unveil new stadium plans

I prefer this one...

Robbing, thieving, 5th place in the League, lucky, crap defensive team + The team from New York that just totally sucks that everyone laughs at after spending hundreds of millions every year on players who are always the wrong buy and get injured or traded before even underachieving + The Smelly Garbage State/Landfill + Coldgaytard + pretentious ivy league schlmeel + human being that will never get to go to Luger's again till he graduates = Alonso767  :p ;)

"pretentious ivy league schlmeel" bitter reject ( ;) ) + 30million for a fat scouser to partner a donkey who cant score for shite + shite team that chokes in the MLB playoffs every season for the past four years + future secretary of Alonso767 ( ;) ) + hating music just because its popular + new york pseudo intellectual urban trash + human being who whose next trip to peter luger's will be his last because Alonso767 is purchasing the restaurant and hanging up a "flashwok's not allowed sign" at the door = flashwok

I just can't believe you occasionally root for the Yankees.

Were a chasm to open in the earth, swallowing whole George, Yankee Stadium and all its fans, I'd throw the mother of all parties--I'd even invite those obnoxious Red Sox fans for shits and giggles.

sorry. i'm a giants fan and on occasion, will root for the jets as well. is this blasphemy? maybe it's something to do with being a transplanted new yorker rather than someone that still lives there.

i think you are developing an insecure, self pitying, inferiority complex Alonso...my advice is to begin listening to coldplay... ;)

im the same as you there mate. football's different than baseball in my opinion.

i cheer for the giants, but i like to see the jets win in the playoffs, theres not as much rivalry between these two teams. unlike yankees and mets, whose fans generally despise each other.

I hate the Giants...they are my team's rivals.

the Jets i can stomach and cheer for because I am ambivalent about them.

I am a child of the 70s and a Roger Staubach devotee...I must admit.

ok we can fight this flash, just hear me out.

you will go to dallas for no less than ten minutes.

you will return to new york.

you will no longer be a cowboys fan after realizing that dallas/all of texas is the biggest shithole state in the nation.

this is true...except for Texas Stadium

I have been to Dallas quite a few times, always on airline layovers and such thankfully and never for very long.

 At the Yankee fans here (and everywhere for that matter).

I guess George decided to one-up my boys (i.e. the Mets) and build a new ballpark as well.

And by the way Flash, Wrigley and Fenway are just as important as Yankee Stadium (not to mention the Rose Bowl).

Nonsense, the Yankees had been planning this well before the last-place Mets decided to build their stadium. Wrigley and Fenway only have historical value as the smallest major league baseball parks in the US.

The new Yankee Stadium will look nice with all those championship banners hanging there.

Please share your thoughts...I'd be surprised, nah...flabbergasted...if you have ever been to Texas.

BTW, I've never been to Liverpool, but seems many Brits think Liverpool is the biggest shithole in all of the world. Apparently this is hands down unanimous.

For my 2 cents, I'd rate Houston as a shithole, but Austin and DFW are very lovely cities, and San Antonio as well. But Washington DC and Philadelphia are bigger shitholes. And Gary, Indiana, is the black hole of the states.

Shea Stadium--a thing of beauty ;)

It's a dump. It's the only baseball stadium in the world where half the seats face the center field fence. Met fans deserve Shea Stadium.

BTW, Delgado's LH power swing was made for the short porch in RF at Yankee Stadium. They should have went for him instead of signing the over-rated Giambi (quite astonished he won a MVP award in Oakland). Always thought he was a good player, but never a great player, even though he had a couple good seasons.

I thought Texas was class, as well. DFW and San Antonio esp.

Never been to Houston, though.

Giant fans and J-E-T-S fans hate each other just as much. Most Jet fans are Mets fans, probably because the Jets used to play at Shea.

I always chose the Jets...1) they were quite shit in the 80s/90s...and 2) the Giants are Dallas' division rival (and will always be in our shadow ;) ).

But the Giants are not as loathed by Boys fans like the Washington Deadskins and Failadelphia Eagles.

Delgado is a mental case. Giambi should have won another MVP the year they gave it to Ichiro (check the stats). In hindsight it was a mistake to sign Giambi, but who knew that all this would happen.

WTF? Did the city just poor a bunch of cement and then carve a field into it?
Stadium is built into side of hill on top of a small mountain range. Parking lots are terraced. Top deck (Red level) have the best view of the city's skyline, hands-down.

A bit older picture, as dugout level seats have been added, but the stadium is always pristine and in a beautiful setting. Can't be beat. Went to SBC Park a few weeks ago, the Bay was nice and the area was decent...just didn't think it beat Dodger Stadium.

Delgado is fantastic in the clubhouse, just about everyone likes the guy.

how can you see the city skyline though TDO? Doesn't Chavez Ravine face East not west?

Top of the whole lot, FLASH. Red Level is ground level, so to speak, of the high point on that side of the Ravine. Concourse (smoking area ;) ) on the top deck faces NE LA, East LA, Downtown, and Mid-Wilshire district.

Seats in the bowl face the opposite direction, which is the other side of the Ravine and Griffith Park. You can see the "Hollywood" sign from some seats.

Check it out, FLASH. It's something else.

Why'd they go and spoil an unblemished vomit of concrete by sticking a park in it?

yeah i always thought Chavez R. was a pretty cool looking stadium...I think I know the concourse you're talking about..it was in the end of "Naked Gun"
