Cobb was a great player, though a racist and hated by his peers. In the WS, he choked 3 times. Hit .262 and had an OBP of .314.
Of course, had Ted Williams not served 2 separate tours for the military (WWII and Korean War, lost nearly 5 full years to service), he'd probably own or have owned nearly every offensive record.
