Totally agree and suspect it'll be one of those really frustrating things that never happens.
I do hate when posters can spot things yet professional managers /coaches who are much more knowledgeable don’t see it even when they see these players train every day
Wouldn't be frustrating at all. One of the three centre backs is his role.
Not when we've got three CM's injured but plenty of CB's fit.

Had a key job for the team and didn't do it to the required level. That said he had Maguire in his ear asking him for support in defending space when he was wanting to support the midfield...
What was his key job that he didn't do well? I don't think he was responsible for the goal we conceded unless I'm mistaken.
When Fernandes was pulling wide and Maddison was in the pocket between defence and midfield it was his job to push into midfield and mark him and Maguire needed to move outwards and Dalot infield into a flat 4
Mazraoui did that multiple times and Maddison then rolled him to go into the space behind. There was even a sequence when Maddison faked 2 or 3 times behind Maz which forced him into the back 5. Mazraoui also gave up fouls on Maddison from dropping into midfield. Again, I'm not sure what more he is supposed to do. Spurs has Son out wide who keeps Dalot occupied, Tel keeps Maguire occupied. Maddison pushes up on to Dalot. Spence is then completely free. If Fernandes goes over to him you open up a gap of 2 passing lanes into Tel and Maddison. If Maddison drops Tel can spin into the space and vice versa. That first half especially tactically was being ripped apart.

He was part of the defensive line that conceded 1 goal, wasn't at fault for it. Did okay in the ball, did okay defensively. He did okay with what he was given tactically by the manager.
Good game. Got stuck in and kept Son very quiet.
