What's the jist here please?

Tolouse were playing a domestic game in May of last year where all the player's numbers were set to be in rainbow colours in support of the LGBT community in France. It was league-wide thing for the whole of Ligue 1.

Zakaria Aboukhlal, Mazaroui's Moroccan teammate refused to take part in the game because he didn't want to wear that kit and received a lot of crticism. Mazaroui posted "God bless you brother" on his social media in support of Aboukhlal.

Oh. That's pretty shit. Wish I didn't know that.

Under hag = good
Under rooy = good
Under ruben = good

If all of our players have this level of fussbal knowledge we would be world champion. He is that player who can play anywhere and doesnt have a weakness due to his intelligence.

AWB is really good if he's up against a dribbler that he can just focus on 1v1. Probably one of the best in the history of the game.

But even defensively he has quite a few weaknesses which we saw many times over the years, and West Ham fans are already complaining about the same things going by the quotes above. Positioning, being lazy getting back, ruining our offside line, covering crosses at the back post. He improved some of those a bit over the years (most notably the back post crosses) but it's still not something he's actually good at. Just not the huge weakness which it was in his first few years here.

Cannot wait to watch him and Yoro playing together

By the end of the season, the technical level of our backline will be looking night and day compared to last season

Gonna be honest, I felt pretty underwhelmed by his signing. Thought he would just be another sick note that would be understudy to Dalot when fit.

Very happy to be proven wrong. An excellent footballer with 8/10 performances every week. Already technically one of the best players in the team and a huge upgrade on Wan Bisakka on the ball.

Was at the game. What a smart player this guy is. And such a hard worker. Definitely our best player tonight.

And didn't cost much either! Will be very important for us. Hope he can stay injury free.

Proper player, man. To think I was so indifferent about this signing
I'm surprised by that because I think you're a great poster. I'd have had him as up your alley just due to how good he is on the ball from a technical POV.

I still can't believe we got him. I said back when everyone was hyping Antony up as a transfer target that Mazraoui was the one dominating the right flank. I never entertained the idea of him being a target, though, because Bayern were immediately in for him, and once he joined them I thought he'd be there for a good few years.

Bayern have been so spoilt on the flanks their assessment and valuation of him was completely out of kilter. They got mugged really.

Begging to be Liverpool. How far we have fallen
Well we have indeed fallen for quite some time so yes, the best side in Europe currently are where we want to get back to

That's been a place occupied by our biggest rivals in recent years unfortunately but that's where we will always aim for.

Don't see anything wrong with supporting a teammate. Doesn't mean he doesn't support LGBT.

He’s been quite easily our best signing this season and quietly been super consistent, he must have been insanely injury prone for Bayern to get rid of him

This is the signing I was most concerned about at the start of the season, but he's turned out to be our best-value signing in years. Such a high floor technically which makes our football move so much more smoothly.

First name on the team sheet, he just oozes calm and quality. Best signing we have made for years.

This guy is a revelation. Long may it continue and hopefully we can get good value like this going forward with other purchases.

I, like most on here, have been pretty scathing of our transfer business over the last, well decade really. However this lads an absolute gem of a signing.

Very happy with Maz performance. With Yoro ready, maybe we will play him as RWB or even try in a pivot

Going by his initial performance our best signing in many years. He looks class both on the ball and defensively.

These are the kind of players we should be signing.

POTS for me, the level of footballer that should be the standard of this squad.

My only concern for him would be whether he could stay fit.

What a player. Can play 3 positions if not more, has a good pass, good ball control, can give a good long pass to, elegant in the way he plays.

I know bar is low but he's one of the best buys in a good, good while.

Current best player out of the Ajax Academy, and probably the best since Daley Blind, before that Alderweireld/Vertonghen.

And to think that he was one of the last academy players to get signed, what a story.

The fact that he wasn't even the standout Ajax player in 18/19 is absurd. He was quite the dame player he is now, maybe a bit less physical/focused.

Only player we have who guarantees at least a 7/10 performance which is what we used to have from most of our squad in the Fergie years. Such a consistently good footballer.

I think a big part of my indifference was me being annoyed and blinded by the fact that signing yet another Ajax alumni solidified ten Hag’s with no end in sight for his tenure.

Thankfully he’s an Ajax academy player in the Daley Blind mould — genuine high level ball IQ — with his natural North African flair coming through too.

Don't see anything wrong with supporting a teammate. Doesn't mean he doesn't support LGBT.

It’s tricky though. He just cannot support LGB as a muslim. (Transgender rights yes but not homosexuality). It’s a sin in Islam and most other religions as well as far as I know.

There is a difference between “not supporting” and “hating” though. If you’re not endorsing something by wearing a band - that doesn’t mean you are homophobic.

But that’s not why he was sold. I think it was because of his vocal support to Palestine. Germany, (Bayern) being on the wrong side of history as always worked out well for us. Excellent signing.

This sums him up perfectly. With him you can bet that he will do at least his main job and do basics right.
Really great signing. Both him and De Ligt improved this squad.
Whoever decided to sign these two deserves credit.

Not quite, what I meant. But if you'd like to be Liverpool then okay

He’s just incredible. Intelligence, mobility, technique, physicality - he’s got it all.

I remember many saying with Dalot the RB position sorted. I don’t like to put a player down to praise another but there’s a point there - in that great teams don’t get there by having merely decent players. So whenever we get someone in decent form or reaching a respectable lehel relative our own, that’s the minimum baseline not the target one. Basically, players who are excellent relative to our team are the one’s who could possibly be part of a future top class United team.
