Gaming Nintendo Switch

So, Dark Souls...what kind of an open world does it have? Is it a dark, desolate, constant dungeon world like in the Metroid Prime series? I'd probably grow bored quickly if it's anything like those games.

Skyward Sword HD for Switch has been teased. I'd like that as I never played my Wii copy. A Switch port of Wind Waker HD would be even better, I haven't played my Wii U copy of that either, but I'd love to play it

What what where? Don’t get me excited

Ok new to this Switch stuff. Bought it for my kids with Crash Bandicoot and Sonic. What do I neef to get this party started. That is what games are essential to this that you cannot get on PS4

How old are the kids? Bayonetta and Octopath are excellent as well but might not be age appropriate

Either way can imminently add Smash Ultimate to the above, and the Let's Go Pokemon games would be a good way to introduce them to the series if they are not familiar already.

They are 11 and 8 but of course like any good parent you need to play with your kids..

Yeah Mario Kart for sure if you want to play it with your kids. Maybe Mario Party as well? I haven't tried it on the Switch but it was a right laugh back in the day on the Gamecube when I was younger.
He wants to play with his kids, not make enemies out of them and disown them.

Is there any or have any announcements been made for a real city/island building game such as tropico? I have seen the Civilisation6 trailer and gameplay but not my cup of tea.

Had a flick through the game list but not sure if there is anything that can be found on the eshop at all.

Cities Skylines is out on the Switch. But I have no idea whether it's any good.

I think from the reviews I read it plays well to a point then struggles to run smoothly when your city hits a certain size.

Have any of you got kids or tried out this Labo stuff? If you have tried it, is it any good and does it justify the purchase. Thinking about getting my neices a Switch with the Labo something or other if it is indeed something that will keep them fully occupied and pay for itself.

Cheers both. After it was mentioned I looked into it further and saw the same info about the performance when the city gets too big. Makes sense I suppose as trying to run that much data can be difficult even on the Xbox. Still if found for a decent price, would be worth picking up.

it's an absolute bitch of a game. whenever I built a city everything always started off great and then when you hit a certain population it just goes completely to shit, every damned time. It's incredibly difficult.

What sort of population are you getting to before this happens?

maybe 5,000, sometimes 10,000.

I haven't played it in ages. Went back to it a few times but always gave up.

Wow that is way to low! If the issues occured at 100k you could understand but 5k is a few hours gameplay!

Will give this a miss unless they bring out any updates.

Cheers for the info though, saved me a few bob for the time being!

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is the one I'm waiting on, god knows when it'll be out though!

Japanese demo tomorrow, will get that. If the full game in Japan is English compatible(the first was), might just get that.

Ah feck it, I messed up and didn't get the bundle for Smash ultimate.

Gonna have to order the fighter pass when it's out on the 7th

Think I’m gonna leave the fighters pass for a bit anyway, first one isn’t out till next year anyway is it?

Getting a free Switch in a week or so as part of my phone upgrade, can't wait.

Have any of you bought Monster Boy? If so, how is it?
Not Monster Boy, but I have Wonder Boy which is more or less the same. It’s a good solid game, but sometimes end up going through the sames places just in different transformations

This one: https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Ni...nster-Boy-and-the-Cursed-Kingdom-1260136.html

It's a follow up to the brilliant Wonderboy 3 that came out on the Sega Master System decades ago, essentially.

Love the series: Monster World (II) and the aforementioned (SMS III).

I want the game, but £35 for it is ridiculous unless it's massive, which is why I've held off.
