Gaming Nintendo Switch

It's super addictive and in my opinion much better than FTL since it feels less random. If you're into puzzles it's a must have.
It's not as good as FTL but is really good.

I would have put many more hours into it if it wasn't for Dead Cells.
I'm quite enjoying this. I didn't make it through my 1st run. Maybe I should have gone for the final mission instead of wanting to clear all islands. I've unlocked the Rusting Hulks or whatever they're called for my 2nd run and they seem to fit my style of play a bit better.

Anyone played Skyrim on the Switch? What's it like.
It's Skyrim. On the Switch.

I mean that seriously. It's console Skyrim but portable; same upsides, same downsides. Whether playing Skyrim on the go is worth the cost for you is up to yourself. Didn't regret my purchase anyway.

Pretty much this.

Skyrim was always a bit shit, even with 1000 mods on PC and less so with the epic VR version (which whilst still a bit shit, it at least made the game finally scale to the senses right) it was at best a decent action adventure. On the Switch though, you get the game on the go. And isn't that what really matters? Isn't that why I've pre-ordered Dark souls despite smashing that game over and over?

In summary, it's worth it on the go, not if you've played any one of the other million releases of it.

I love how all the squads force you to change your play style, it gives the game real longevity.

On another note, has anybody played Salt & Sanctuary? What's the verdict?

Yeah I started another run with a new squad, the Zenith Guard. That's a completely different experience. The mech with the laser beam is pretty straightforward, but the two others really leaves you thinking. One of them can shield shit with it's only offensive move being a force pull kinda trick. The other one damages itself with it's only default move.

Also, why do Nintendo insist on doing weird shit? They've just released the new Super Mario Party but why haven't they made it possible to play the normal gamemode online? Of course Mario Party is always best with your friends on the same screen, but come on.

Nice :D

I've never finished it  I only played it on an emulator years ago and was waiting to buy a proper copy of it to play it through, but have yet to do so

You like it?
It's the oldest game i remember to have finished when I was a kid. I like it, but it's certainly more for nostalgic reasons.
I'm not a fan of the Zelda series in general, so the first one being my favorite is a bit special. :p

I'll just pretend I didn't see that :D
The only one I really played was Phantom Hourglass and I hated it - having to go back to the same bloody dungeon with a constant time limit was a horrible design choice.

TBF the DS ones weren't the most well received. Not to say that you would definitely like the others, but they aren't the most representative of the series.

Yeah, if I ever manage to clear my Switch backlog I might give Breath of the Wild a try.

Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are worth playing too (though with you not liking time limits and repeated stuff, Majora's Mask might not be for you).

Through being busy with work and planning a wedding, i'd not picked up my Switch in a few months. I picked up Mario Odyssey again last week and had forgotten just how fun it is.

I've got Mario Rabbids, Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart, Zelda, and Mario Tennis Aces (still sealed / unplayed).

What newer games should i get or be on the look out for? Many of you played Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze?

I enjoyed Dead Cells more than I thought I would, it's practically taking up almost all of my gaming time right now because it's so damn addictive. Still waiting for my copy of Starlink to arrive at my local shop.

Captain Toad was fun too, am currently waiting for a sales before I grab Donkey Kong.

*Edit: Octopath Traveller is great as well.

Diablo III is out and Warframe is out later this month, good times ahead for Switch
Is Diablo III any good? I played the shit out of Diablo II with one of my mates back in the day but never got around to Diablo III.

It only came today, I have only played it for 30 min, never played a Diablo game before so I’m not the best person to ask

Civilisation 6 is released today for the Switch. Really tempted to buy it. IGN gave it a really good review.

I finally brought mine yesterday with Mario Kart, buzzing.

Anything I know or should be doing right away? Any decent free games on the monthly when you subscribe?

I noticed Rogue Legacy has been released on the Switch as well. Fun little game to jump in and out of.

It’s currently sitting at 91 on Metacritic. Think it’s got to be picked up despite my wallet advising not to. Owning a PS4 has a Switch is great but fecking costly.

Yeah gaming is an expensive hobby, but i am tempted to buy this. I also want Tetris Effect on PS4 though, so not sure which one to go for.

Cracking game. Played it when it first came out. Anyone who likes Dead Cells and hasn't played this owes it to themselves to pick this up
