Gaming Nintendo Switch

It’s always a nice surprise how much you get for trading in Nintendo games, I wanted the Xenoblade and Splatoon DLC so I traded in Donkey Kong & Hyrule Warriors and got £60 credit for them.

Just started playing Dead Cells because I was sick of Hollow Knight (dying in it - it's a great game, but too hard for me to bother with against the bosses). And damn is Dead Cells awesome - loving it!

Same.

Hollow Knight is really good, Dead Cells is amazing.

The bosses get easier as you gain more abilities and stuff, theirs only truly one hard boss imo, the messenger though is a completely different beast boss fights wise.

I got to the 4th boss (or at least 4th in my order). The one who slams the floor. He killed me quickly and it was miles from a save bench - couldn’t be arsed.

Ori and the blind forest is an incredible game - in my top 5 of all time - but HK was nowhere near that standard for me. Even if it was easier, it just didn’t have the feels that Ori did.

Anyway, so far Dead Cells is riveting - loving it

Yeah that's always annoying. At some point you start to plan around it. But yeah all the running back and forth gets somewhat old. I've just unlocked a type of portal that will make it better I guess.
I have to say I'm loving it. Yesterday I was battling one of the warrior spirits several times before I changed my charms to be heavily focused on spells. I destroyed it after that. Very satisfying.

At what point will they announce a new version of Switch? I think it’s bound to happen within the next 6-12 months, the same console but perhaps a smaller (or larger package) with superior (or inferior) materials at a higher (or lower) price.

Hang on mate, just let me find my crystal ball.

I think it would seriously piss people off if they released a better version of a new, nearly €400 console only two years after it launches.

Besides they don't really need to, it's still selling so well, they haven't even dropped the price yet from launch.

Late 2019 at the very least, even then it would be a smaller less powerful version for the core pokemon players.

I just finished Hollow Knight with 90% completion and ~27 hours spent. Great game and great value.

Go for 107%! I'm at 103% atm and determined to get the 107% once i've finished a couple of other games.

ok, rookie question as just bought it a few days ago and all was good. Played Mario kart 8 with my wife and 2 kids (4 remotes) and yesterday all was good and we realised for some reason tonight that besides me being the main remote, the other 3 characters were driving automatically even though they were connected and the wife and kids got to chose their characters, cars etc.

Why come "game time" did they lose control??? advice welcome folks.

I think there’s some sort of auto assist in mario kart that maybe they might have turned on? Check in the menu but I can’t remember where it is.

Click + to bring up the menu, then each player's settings will be in the corners. There's auto accelerate which you might want for the normal racing, then there's the assisted driving and lastly motion control. If you don't know you have motion control on that can feel like you're not in complete control.
Anyway, try that. It's super annoying that the game keeps forgetting your previous settings.

No worries. Now you can paste your kids into the floor. It’s the only way they’ll learn.

Anyone played Into the Breach? I loved FTL and this is made by the same guys apparently.

It's super addictive and in my opinion much better than FTL since it feels less random. If you're into puzzles it's a must have.

I've just started YS VIII, still on prologue but I can say this game has one of the best JRPGs combats I've ever played.
