Thinking of getting one are there any must have accessories?

Depends what your main use of the machine is going to be.

If you plan on exploiting the portable capabilities then I'd definitely suggest picking up a carry case and screen protector, probably a secondary USB-C Charger too (unless your current phone uses that and you take your charger with you already). Other than that, I would probably invest in a Pro Controller if you plan to play on the TV a lot, they are expensive though. You'll be lucky to get one much under £60, so definitely shop around and see what you can find.

Cheers! Probably mostly in handheld mode at home with occasional break outs to the TV if the missus isn't around.

I heard some talk about the dock scratching it, is that true?

The screen yes, buy a screen protector

Bleeding money at the moment. Only recently got Rabbids and Pokken, just dropped money on Golf Story, FIFA is en route next week and Odyssey and Xenoblade to come quite soon.

Embarrassment of riches at the moment.

Especially true if your Dock is bent. There's a big thread on GAF about it. Look at your dock and see if the gap the Switch fits into is straight or not. Personally even though mine is fine - I still fitted some moleskin on the Dock (where the Switch slides down against on the sides). I never use screen protectors on anything - hate them.

So just played a few games of Fifa in handheld mode. Not so easy, think i will buy a controller and play it on a smaller TV. I dont like the analog sticks on the switch for Fifa and the worst thing is the screen or switch is shaking too much if i hold it and play. Missed a few sitters because of that. Otherwise nice game, but i think i can be more productive if i use the dock station and a real controller

Aye, the analogue sticks on the joy-cons are a bit too gammy for FIFA, just a little awkward even to pass.

Does anyone know if it's possible to pick up a cheap 3rd party spare dock?

€80 on Amazon for an official

What's everyone thinking about Fifa? Or have I missed that?

It's very good for a handheld game. Online is smooth and offline modes are the same as PS4. It's a different engine and plays slightly differently but animations are very similar so it still ends up being a similar experience. Worth the price IMO and it's a treat to be able to play some football during lunch break.

Which games would people recommend on the switch ?

I'm considering getting one but other than Zelda I'm not really sure which games are worth getting

There will be significant shortages of this during Christmas after they had released Mario.

I dare dream, I’m in full Mario Muppet Mode.

They will do well to beat the M64 ending theme though, GOAT level tune

SMW for me, till the day I die. With Zelda 3 being most emotional.

But jaysus what a game M64 was and still is. I really think they should HD Sunshine on the switch though and show just how great M64 was that Sunshine was considered a shit sequel, I mean that game is outstanding and easily better than most every platformer since

I would love a Sunshine remaster, I absolutely loved that game and always thought it for far too much hate. I just got such good vibes from it.

I prefer Sunshine to both Galaxy games. I think in the future when people look back and realise that those games, along with Skyward sword/Paper Mario ss and Zelda albw, were the points where Nintendo started slightly dumbing games for a bit, they'd agree too. And I loved the Galaxy games and I really enjoyed SS (though never agreed with the reviews).

That's one of the best things about BotW, the controversy over the weapons and structure. Nintendo got a reputation for 'kiddie' games, but they weren't ever easy games, they were games to master. BotW was a return to that, all those absolutely brilliant little touches and one of (if not the!) most consistent gaming worlds ever created whilst not once holding your hand.

Hopefully the likes of BotW, Splatoon 2 and this new Mario shows they've once again got the balance right
