Master mode is great, on the Great Plateau at least, brilliant fun when you have nowt but a stick and the place is dripping in blue bokoblins and pretty much can't fight anything.

Splatoon is such a nice game, i am addicted

Have you tried Salmon Run? I highly recommend it, but remember to play as a team! It's even more important than turf mode to do that ;)

It's a great laugh when you get guys on who seem to know what they are doing. Earlier I got stuck with the sniper on stage three and just perched myself on high, someone was smart enough to cover me, and I proceeded to take out all the bosses and revive the others whilst they just went for eggs. It was such brilliant fun considering you can't even talk to them to coordinate. We just were all on the same wavelength for once!

No, i havent played that yet. I am still relatively new to the game, only a few days in, so i want first do the basics and get some experience with the usual stuff and then diving into the more difficult and advanced settings once i mastered the gameplay.

But so far i love the game, really nice. I havent played Splatoon before, all new to me, but great fun and easy to learn and progress. Thanks for the tip, i havent seen that before, but i will look out for it in the next few days to try it out. Sounds like great fun

Good stuff! Definitely try single player too, it at least gets you used to weapons and movement plus you can earn meal tickets which aren't critical, but help for turf wars. But Salmon Run is a lot of fun, and don't worry about sucking, you'll soon pick up the gist of it!

If you need any tips for turf wars/salmon run, I'll be happy to share what I know. But first and foremost would be make sure to use motion controls with the higher the better sensitivity. Trust me, it seems weird at first, but it really is the best way to git gud.

I love master mode, it forces you to enjoy the game's mechanics at their fullest. The silver enemies are everywhere in bigger numbers & take so many hits that you run out of weapons if you just take them head on. So you're forced to start using potions to buff your attack, or sneak in and steal their weapons, or blow them off cliffs or hit explosive barrels from a distance. Those things that were just a bit of fun on normal become essential on master mode.

Anyone just get the new sonic game?

Just played the 1st 2 zones. It's an instant classic so far

It's amazing. I've only done two zones also and it just seems perfect to me - the right mix of nostalgia and something new.

Mean Bean Machine as the boss  Had the biggest smile of my face.

I really want to pull the trigger and get one, but £400 plus seems SO expensive for a handheld.

Have you guys found yourself playing it on your TV, so as much replacing your PS4 / XBOX? Am i better to wait until around Christmas, will there be a price drop or more likely bundle specials?

Where are you seeing £400+? It's £280 and yeah I do play it on tv, though normally if I'm playing it my mrs is on the ps4. Truth be told, handheld seems to be the way most people naturally play, and I prefer it for something like splatoon.

Don't be fooled though, it's a full on console with full games, it's not a traditional handheld console. And it's a bloody brilliant piece of kit.

Cheers. I appreciate the console is 280 on its own but by the time you've added Zelda and the controller you're in for 380.

Bundles with a second game and you're at the 430 mark at places like GAME.

Yeah I figured that's what you were getting at, but it's still a couple of hundred cheaper than the other two on launch.

Like I say, it's not strictly speaking a handheld console, so don't think of it like that. And frankly Zelda is an amazing hardware shifter alone, but there are plenty of games on cart and the store now. But if you are on the fence, maybe wait a while, though expect them hard to get come Christmas. Though if you don't own a Wii-U and have never played the likes of Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon, then you really are in for a treat :)

Mario and Rabbids is fantastic. I initially bought it just because my fiance loves Rabbids but it turns out there's actually a properly good game in there, very enjoyable.

There have been gameplay videos of NBA 2k18 on YouTube lately and it's fantastic. It has the same engine and game modes as PS4 version, only worse graphics and framerate (which is still stable 30 fps so fine). Cannot wait till I can play 2k on the go!

Hard as hell too after the first boss fight too.

What, the flower? Only been a level or two past it, and that only gave me a problem because I didn't really guess the explosion on the crates and got Mario killed (the only time I've actually had a down so far). But I can see it getting far more tactical and difficult as it goes.

I've just got Luigi and with the long range he is pretty boss so far.

Anyway, there's a splatfest on!

Nah, that's just the the mid boss, the first boss is DK Rabbit.

Difficulty ramps up a notch after that.

Really enjoying Mario + Rabbids too - for me it's my favourite game this year after Zelda.

Finished the first world - doing it again now I have the power to open up the hidden routes etc. Love it!

If it's on the same level as Zelda then oh boy!

Well we are about to find out. No idea what we are gonna see. I'm just dreaming of Pokemon but I know we won't see that footage for ages.

I've never played any of the Mario Party games. It would be cool to try them though.

With a few friends around it's unreal fun, I used to love it. The switch would work really well for it.

I'm into the Xenoblade game I reckon.

Line up is starting to look pretty strong. I can't wait to play skyrim and NBA on the shitter. All those arcade games, Mario Odyssey, Pokken. So much I wanna play.

I'm surprised, got the demo for Pokken this morning and didn't think much of it besides the animations making me imagine a proper Pokemon game with those graphics and animations.

Never played Skyrim though, so may get that.

There must be a Doomguy Amiibo. There must be.

Also, cut through one of the stories in the Octopath Traveller demo, absolutely love it, though the battles are very slow when you have a single character. Hopefully they'll pick up pace when you have a team.
