Gaming Nintendo Switch

Believe me, the game more than holds up for it's entirety mate, I envy you! Absolute masterpiece and the Switch is a great machine.

I can't wait. I only got about 15 minutes but it was enough time to crush some goblins with a boulder. My weekend will be gone.

I managed to get a 2nd one a couple of weeks ago really easily. And it was one of the neon coloured ones too

Thought stock issues had sorted out now

It is slowly getting better, seems in July there will be a huge batch of new consoles coming on the market, in time for the Splatoon release.

I think getting one right now will be a bit more difficult, especially the grey ones. Stock has been held back and more Neon ones produced intended for Splatoon 2 release. Can't not have systems to sell with Splatoon 2...

Oh I also had time to sneak in one race on Mario Kart with my brother, was surprised how comfortable those little controllers are in tabletop mode. It helped that I won by nudging him into a banana skin meters from the finish line as well.

Is anything in gaming as satisfying as fecking a mate over right at the end in Mario Kart?

It's Nintendo. Nothing they do with their system stocks ever make sense.

Finally have some money. Why does no fecker have any stock. Nintendo are so annoying.

There are some available, this seems to have a reasonable prize if you don't mind it being shipped from Australia.

Mine will be here in 2 weeks

Nice. I hate waiting!

Ah cheers, gonna hold off though I should be able to get one locally by Monday. I should never have tried my brothers because once I tried I needed it.

Had word from a friend who works at Nintendo UK that they are holding off on stock for the time being and are focusing more on the Neon Colour Bundles (there is a Splatoon 2 Bundle in Europe that includes the Neon Joy-Cons rather than the Pink & Green ones that Japan got). They want to try and push these bundles in July, so much so that I've heard that the Grey Bundles are actually frozen at the moment until they can try and deal with the expected Splatoon 2 driven demand.

Somewhat thankfully, after Splatoon 2 there isn't really a 'killer' title until Mario. There are some cool games, like Pokkén for example, but they're not exactly system sellers. So, throughout August and September we might actually be able to walk into a store and just ask for one (and actually be able to buy it). If you're not bothered about which colour bundle you get, I'd just hold off and pre-order a Splatoon 2 one if you can't find a system beforehand (you could always cancel the pre-order if you manage to buy one).

£319.99 for the console and Splatoon 2 bundle is pretty decent really. You're saving a couple of quid as I'd expect everywhere to charge over £40 for Splatoon.

Yeah those grey ones are sold out totally. I think Argos have some Neon ones scattered at a couple of stores, I ordered one yesterday and it should be at my local store this weekend so fingers crossed! I wanted the neon one anyway so I don't mind.

Email from Argos. My switch is ready to collect

I'm too ballbagged to drive there now but first thing tomorrow it's on.

It's not entirely their fault. Blame Apple and the other smartphone companies!

Nintendo has told suppliers and assemblers it hopes to make nearly 20 million units of the Switch device in the year ending March 2018, people involved in the discussions said. Though the company’s official sales target for the year is 10 million, strong demand suggests it can sell many more—if it can make them.

The problem is an industrywide capacity shortage for components used in smartphones, computer servers and other digital devices. These include the NAND flash-memory chips that store data, liquid-crystal displays and the tiny motors that enable the Switch’s hand-held controllers to imitate the feel of an ice cube shaking in a glass.

I'm excited for Splatoon 2 after watching some gameplay earlier.

And have come round to Arms Too

Got my switch with Zelda and MK8. Can't play till I'm home about midnight though. Ahhhh.

I got mine surprisingly easy, they were sold out on all the big sites but I just went to the official Nintendo UK website, ordered it and it arrived within a couple of days.

Do you have a WiiU?

What are you looking to play on it?

(just wondering, not being a dick)

Had a day off sick today. Had a few hours last night and a few today so far. Zelda is absolutely awesome. I love throwing a bomb into a camp and the goblins all running to investigate and getting blown up

Oh my friend, wait until you see what you can really do!

The only limits are your imagination

Yeah I can imagine! It's weird getting used to thinking differently at times. I don't hate the weapons breaking as much as I thought I would either.

That's because it actually makes sense. You are supposed to get used to all the different types and towards the end game pick those you favour.

Whilst I can agree they could be more durable, it does also show up the more casual gamers in the sense that "stick to what I know and I'll overpower that weapon!". It's been amusing to see that, if nothing else

Yeah for sure. Although every time I find a method I get used to I get somewhere else and it doesn't work anymore

The shrines are great too, it's so rewarding to figure the puzzle out without jumping to a guide or something, makes me feel much smarter than I am

It's even more rewarding to figure out a puzzle in a way that clearly wasn't intended by the developers.

That is a great. I just managed that for the first time just when I didn't have enough arrows to make the room move so I managed to use a bomb to bounce a ball off a wall and over a fence into the hole. So much fun.

After a couple of weeks of having this I reckon if they get the games right this could be one of my favourite consoles ever. It's just great.

Just resisting the urge to buy minecraft :nervous:

I feel the same, the potential is there, we need more great games now, hopefully Mario Odessy/Mario+Rabbids and Pokemon will be great games.

For sure for sure. I think Odyssey will be excellent and Pokémon too obviously. Add a SSB and an Animal Crossing game and I'll be over the moon. Metroid Prime is a big deal too

If they get the Virtual Console line up right it'll be amazing.

Xenoblade Chronicles and Fire Emblem as well.
