Of all the Zelda games I've only ever played A Link to the Past and never got drawn in to the Nintendo DS scene. Are the other Zeldas worth getting into?

Where should I start do you think? Do they have many Zelda games out for the DS/3DS? I might consider getting/saving up for one of them.
There are two for the DS (Spirit Tracks & Phantom Hourglass), and also two for the 3DS (Ocarina of Time 3D & Link Between Worlds), well, soon to be three with Majora's Mask. With the 3DS being backwards compatible though all five of those are playable on the 3DS.
Also though, on the 3DS Virtual Console you can get the original NES Zelda, Zelda II, Link's Awakening, Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages.
So yeah, the 3DS might be a good choice with the amount available there

That lists the main differences.
There's the "New 3DS/New 3DS XL" coming out next year, so prices might go down a bit more then. Perhaps not by much though. I still can't believe this is happening.
I still have Majora's Mask on cart (both jap and pal), on two special edition gamecube disks and last played it a few years ago when I built an all-in-one arcade cabinet for a friend.
I've no reservations about buying and playing it again. Especially after the excellent job done of Ocarina of Time 3D
