Gaming Nintendo 3DS vs PS Vita thread.

I hate the name "new 3DS," it's "The new iPad" (iPad 3) all over again.

Also the "new 3DS" and the inevitable upcoming "new 3DS" exclusive means I'll probably have to splurge more cash... the console itself looks decent, though.

It looks the same as the last one, with a nub (sorry this is unacceptable - VITA has two proper sticks) and a few buttons moved about, oh, and colours.

I do wish the 3DS had a built in second stick. I do have the circle pad pro, but I don't know if we'll have to buy a new one for the "new" 3DS - which would suck if we had to.

It's more of a personal preference to play with circle pad pro if the game supports it.
Well TBH I don't see a reason for a new CPP on the New 3DSes now that not only is the second stick covered, but also the new buttons.

Isn't the new nub to replace that circle pad pro, pretty much?
Yep I would think so.

I can't see any reason for needing two slide pads as well as the new c-stick.

I don't understand why you and the rest of the Nintendo Defence Force still have the guile to beat the drum. Their software as always is brilliant, but the hardware for the past 15 years has been absolute trash. They are going to become a massive cropper.

The wii, wii-u and especially 3ds are superbly built machines.

If you want to prattle on about out of date techology, then let's talk the PS4 too eh? Memory aside the whole thing is budget tech from years ago. Let's also talk constant console revisions of things like the ps1, 2 and 3, some of which wouldn't play certain games either.

In short, move along old man!

If the PS4 is out of date technology, what the feck is the Wii U? You know very well what you are talking about here, the PS4 is built within a power and heat envelope, what do you want in it two GTX Titans? Stop talking crap just for the sake of it.

What's the matter, can't dispute that? Well stop moaning about the 3ds then! It's a far better games machine than the Vita all round, there's only one winner here. Move along gramps.

It's like they learnt nothing from the Wii/Wii-U debacle.

Perhaps they'll alter the name for the western release?

It seems absolutely ridiculous to me to release a slightly more powerful tweak of the same console and then allow devs to optimize games for it and not original 3DS.

They should have just left it a year or so and released a completely new handheld. They'll upset people that purchase one of these and find it obsolete within 18 months when they do release a new handheld. A bit like the DSi XL that came out in 2009, then they released the 3DS in 2011.

They won't replace 3DS with a new console with its sales figures. It's been only 3 years since the release, it's in the middle of its cycle I imagine.

Oh guys, FFS...

Doesn't look that great IMO. If it was a proper design, like the inside and buttons all themed like a NES that would be cool, but that just looks like a sticker of a NES controller :(

The box is pretty cool though.

I WANT ONE OUT OF PRINCIPAL.

Haven't seen a picture of the inside, hopefully they have done something with the buttons.
