Nile Ranger arrested...again & again & again...

Sceptisim on this subject also stems largely from the amount of false allegations made.

Some states recently as to the number of women being prosecuted for making false allegations each year in the UK. If they're being prosecuted that says there is enough evidence for the CPS to proceed rather than simiply not being enough evidence to proceed.

That said, its obviously a very complex issue.

Wait, are you seriously saying that there's a problem in the UK with women making up rape cases and getting away with it? Not that, you know, cases of rape have a 10% conviction rate.

Erm.....Yes? Why wouldn't he? Is the alternative to keep him locked up forever? Maybe a prison shanking instead?

Your talking to the wrong person I'm afraid, far as I am concerned Hectic, your sarcasm isn't far wrong if made serious, would quite happily chuck the prick in prison.

Rehabilitation signal some sort of repreieve and they don't deserve that. What have they done to deserve that then? I think too much is easy come in this world, we know our wrongs better than our rights...

I'm not saying punish the man by death, but I can think of better ways to spend our tax than teaching Mr Ranger how to be a normal human being.

Except it costs a fortune in tax to keep him in prison...

Like, £40,000 a year. It's cheaper to rehabilitate him.

The caf is full of fecking hippies. Makes me sick

He'll find a club at some level, although he'll probably end up tumbling down the leagues till he plays part time between his stints in prison for some county league team. You have to wonder what Newcastle were thinking with him really, a 5 1/2 year contract for someone who'd never really impressed and with a very shady past. No surprises that since he got the assurance of that contract his behaviour just continued to deteriate.

Newcastle love to give out some ludicrous length contracts though.

Pardew 8 years?

Am I missing something as to why lots of these players that repeatedly commit offences still find clubs?

Marlon King is another that comes to mind.

If I or anyone on here committed the kinds of offences that Nile and King did, I doubt we'dd find employment anywhere, ever. Nice to see our most important offending workers are being looked after.

Maybe it's about time we realize that footballers have a different job than the average folk.Comparing our lives and the consequences of our acts to theirs is pointless.

Ex-Premier League footballer Nile Ranger has pleaded guilty to common assault following a fracas in a Newcastle car park.

The 21-year-old, who left Newcastle United by mutual consent a fortnight ago, was arrested after a fight in The Gate complex car park in the city.

Appearing at Newcastle Magistrates' Court, Ranger of Edwins Avenue, Forrest Hall, admitted common assault.

The former England Under-19 player was bailed and will sentenced on 9 April.

This is at the root of the problem for me, what footballers are is completely removed from reality. They are ridiculously over praised and over compensated from a very young age for having well coordinated feet and people are supprised that they arent well adjusted......!?!! we should count ourselves lucky most of them dont sit in a darkend room surrounded by dead weasles chanting to Kthulu

Oh, you'd love America where we spend endless dollars keeping people locked up and the prison workers unions have grown so strong we now just make laws to lock up people to expand the prison system.

It's a fecking disaster.

Alright Thatcher!

I'm just curious. It wasn't a dig....I might have misunderstood anyway?

I certainly wasn't alluding to that by my use of the word gangster. At least I hope it's not interpretted so :nervous:

I was hoping to derail the thread and have it go that way, hopefully could have got a couple of funny photoshops of Joey Barton wearing a bandana. It's passed now.

What you lack in compassion you make up for in ignorance.

TBF you don't need photoshop with Barton. He makes enough of an arse of himself in real life.

Well gangsters should be rehabilitated too. Glad we agree.

But at what point do you say enough is enough? Personally I've always liked the American three strikes rule, if you haven't learned After two spells inside that there is a better way to live then it's unlikely you ever will

Oh Jay you mentalist.

He will be in court next month to face a rape charge.

Former Newcastle United striker Nile Ranger has been charged with rape.

The 22-year-old will appear in court on 21 August in connection with an alleged incident at a hotel in the Jesmond area of the city in January.

Mr Ranger, of Bailey Close, Harringay, London, left the club by mutual consent in March.
The player, a former England under-19 international, who has had spells on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley, is currently on bail.

He made more than 50 appearances for Newcastle following his debut in August 2009, with the majority coming as a substitute.
