Rojo, Dante, Leandro Castan, Vermaelen, Inigo Martinez.Chiellini, Sakho, Matthieu, Vertonghen, Abdennour, Mangala, Badstuber and Laporte are all the decent left-footed CBs playing now that I can find at the moment.

Frank was left footed. It doesn't make sense to take FK for example with his weaker foot, does it?
There was one great FK against Valencia which I couldn't find tho, took it with his left from memory.
Exactly and I can't wait to see the reaction on here if we bring in Otamendi to replace Smalling and Jones on the right and not Blind or Rojo on the left.
Do you think LVG wants him to take Blind/Rojo's spot as LCB or will he be competing with all our other centerbacks for the RCB position?
I hope it's the former.
Frank was the CB, Ronald was a winger. Frank was left footed.
you are wrong, its the other way around....if you dont remember just google it, every site says he was right footed.
You sure about Koeman? Yeah think Frank was the CB cos Ronald was the one who played for Rangers.

Frank was right footed. Ronald wasn't world class though was he?
Ah ffs..
Ramos, Silva, Boateng, Pique, Hummels, Otamendi, Terry, Kompany, Godin, Benatia etc right off my head!Decent list alright Dasty..
Now do me a list of right-footers now!
Thats certainly what I thought, that he was predominantly right but used on the left.
Mendes is like Puffy or Snoop in mid 2000's rap videos, just randomly popping up.
Ramos, Silva, Boateng, Pique, Hummels, Otamendi, Terry, Kompany, Godin, Benatia etc right off my head!
Let's send the list to LVG so that he can compare them and get his OCD out of the way!
Like Suge's anti-Puffy speech at one of the hip-hop awards: "always all up in dem video's.."
Ah the good old days.....y'know, gunned down rappers aside....
Yeah man take a joke man.
Changing the C to a T, proper genius man.How you doin today Tina?
I'm not wrong - i grew up watching him. Check out as many vids as you want & he's left-footed - but could play brilliantly with his right..
Here's one anyway:
Maldini was right footed. If not, then I think that I may have Alzheimer.well, i watched him also and this video profs feck all as he uses both of his feet....

"Although he played as a left back for most of his career, Maldini was naturally right footed, and began playing for Milan as a right back. He was switched to the left back position by manager Arrigo Sacchi, due to the presence of Tassotti on the right for Milan, and the emergence of the young right back Panucci.[59] This was made possible due to Maldini's tactical versatility and ability with both feet"
http://acmilan.theoffside.com/2012/10/10/3423526/maldini-desciglio-leftfooted-rightfooted some Ac Milan site, they also say he was right footed...
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...both-the-natural-and-manufactured-master.html telegrašh also says he is right footed
the list go on and on, every site says he is right footed but i guess we are all wrong....
Van Gaal has some weird ideas, but he isn't an idiot. Unless Rojo improves, it will be Smalling and Otamendi. Not important how many top class left footed center halves there have been, van Gaal is VERY intent on having one right footed and one left footed center half and is too stubborn to change this. If we sign Otamendi it's 90% he won't be playing alongside Smalling very often, he will be playing instead of him alongside Blind or Rojo.
I hope you're right. Unfortunately none of us would know for sure what Van Gaal would do if Rojo/Blind don't cut it.Van Gaal has some weird ideas, but he isn't an idiot. Unless Rojo improves, it will be Smalling and Otamendi.
Blind playing instead of Jones/Evans doesn't mean that a left footed player will play ahead of a superior right footed player. It just means that Blind - who has been doing well and is a left footed - will play ahead of Jones and Evans who haven't been doing well and are right footed.
I just don't see any chance of Smalling getting benched if he plays like he did on Saturday. If he plays worse, then an Otamendi + Rojo might very well happen though, but it is in Smalling hands to continue being a first choice. He just needs to keep this level and continue improving.I hope you're right. Unfortunately none of us would know for sure what Van Gaal would do if Rojo/Blind don't cut it.

Evan's can use both feet though & it's hard to work out which one is shitter..

Are you a fly in the Madrid board room ?
If Man City and Real Madrid want him then why is he still a Valencia player at this point? There are no questions about his availabilty, £35m and he is free to speak to new clubs.
I think we are the only side to have shown genuine interest. I think he is right footed though and we already have Smalling and Jones, we are probably more focused on getting a left footer.
The speculation with this chap refuses to go away. Allegedly close to signing for us according to the latest rumours.
Do not need another right footed centre back if LVG wants balance. We have Smalling for that side of the defence, unless LVG abandons his need for having a left footer on the left of central defence then I don't think he will be coming to us. All the noise from OT is to sort attack and DDG situation out, defence is sorted as no one of better quality than what we have is available.Ballbag seemed to think it was always on, hes tended to be spot on lately. Hopefully we sign him.

Don't want to get drawn in again but..
Shaw - Otamendi - Smalling - Darmian
Damn.

But Ramos is an upgrade on anything we have, even if we paired Rojo as the LCB beside him it would make an impressive partnership. He abandoned it last season when he paired Smallling and Jones. He'll abandon it again. He was afterall trying to sign Ramos.
