Looking at the limits there are in the UK I doubt it was just a 'one bottle of beer'. Nothing to do with with a high horse, just being responsible and not a total idiot.

Inexusable shit to me really.
Yeah your are being pretty dramatic. Its more dangerous to drive whilst tired than after what could well be a pint and a half. i'm sure you'd call in sick unless you've had your full 8 hours sleep.

Yea of course. I'd as well not drive after drinking alcohol but it seems that I'm quite fecked up.

Just trying to work out how much he had to drink. Using his height and weight if my calculations are correct its 3 pints just before driving.

It's so pointless trying to work it out. He could have had half a litre of vodka the night before, he could have had one pint of Stella on an empty stomach 15 minutes before. There's just far too many variables to be able to accurately guess.

His 'I don't give a f*ck' attitude was endearing at first but it could become an issue.

Yeah, this is why this kind of thing is never a black or white issue.

Not a surprise. He never seems to play for them anyway. Everytime I look for their matches he's on the bench.

Trying to point out that it's fairly small amounts of alcohol were talking about and while it's stupid it could be an honest mistake. Think it's a bit harsh on the lad for everyone to start slating his attitude and labeling him as another Morrison who will throw his career away.

And to think I once questioned his effort and commitment. Should have listene to that Raoul guy who laughed it off. He is so wise.

Seems a bit of a knob at the minute. I get a very lackadaisical vibe from him, needs to fix up.

He seems to have a poor attitude. I'm not sure he's anywhere near talented enough to get away with it if that proves to be correct.

Is no one else going to question why he was driving a Vauxhall Corsa? With his money you'd think he'd be driving better cars.

He loves that car. He's tweeted numerous times about how people tell him to get a new car and he tells them to do one. It's a bit of a running joke I think.

Nick Powell could be allowed to join Leicester City

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson is keen on signing Manchester United's Nick Powell during the summer transfer window.

The Daily Express believe the recently-promoted Leicester City have placed Powell on their summer transfer wish-list as they look to bring in several reinforcements for their first year back in the Premier League.

Powell could be allowed to leave Old Trafford either on a temporary or permanent basis during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The former Crewe midfielder, who moved to Old Trafford in 2012 for a fee that could rise to £6.5million, has failed to establish himself as a member of Manchester United's squad.

The 20-year-old had to make do with playing for Manchester United's reserve side before sealing a loan move to Wigan Athletic at the start of September.

Powell scored seven goals in 31 league games for Wigan Athletic during his time at the DW Stadium - but it remains to be seen if the England Under-21 starlet can make the step up.

Leicester City would provide Powell with the perfect platform to express himself in the top-flight of English football before returning to Manchester United if the East Midlands outfit can only land the youngster on a temporary deal.

On loan maybe, but come on, apart from Januzaj its going to be hard for a 19 year old to do that in this day and age. Besides he is not ready, he has the potential but not quite at that level to be starting week in, week out for us. Doesn't mean he should be sold.

They've been talking about him being sold permanently since last summer and how he has failed to establish himself here. I'm not sure what they were expecting him to do but I think it is all bullshit. No chance of him being sold yet.

Hope if he goes it's only on loan.

He has so much potential and hasn't exactly been given a massive amount of chances.
You get the chances you deserve. If there's one place that's true it's at Utd.

You expect a young player hoping to make the breakthrough to demonstrate total commitment to his career. Getting done for drink driving isn't exactly doing that. I should imagine he'll be on probation with Utd now and his career could go one way or the other depending entirely on what he does over the next season, both on and off the pitch, if he's sent out on loan to another PL club. It's up to him, no one else.

Idiot.

"His breath test at the scene was 54mg per 100ml of breath, the legal limit is 35." How many pints would that be?

At a guess the limit is around two pints (just under)
He is just over 1.5 times the limit
this would indicate he had 3 pints in his system... but keep in mind the recorded figure is not the roadside figure but the reading at the station and time would have passed between the roadside reading and the station reading
possibly 4 pints of fosters strength or 3 pints stella strength presuming he was stopped almost straight away... for all I know he could have gone out for a meal and had a bottle of wine then a few pints at a club after and easily be over the next day

You can fail a breathaliser after one pint, absolutely.
You cant blow 54 though.
http://visual.ly/interpreting-breath-alcohol-test-results
remember the 54 is not the roadside but the station reading... typically one unit is processed in an hour and it is likely to take that long to do a roadside reading read the rights take to station and then record three readings at thr station (the lowest ond being the figure they charge on)
It would suggest three pint (about 1bottle of wine) would be in his system
750ml at 12% (wine) = 9 units
550ml (pint) x3 × 5.5% = 9 units
if say fosters at 4% then 4 pints

However if drinking four pints it is likely that at least some of the alcohol from the first pint if not all will have left the system by the time you drink number four (subject to drinking speed) and even more so by the time yoy have been tested at the station...
the reality is to blow that in a station you must have drunk more than a bottle of wine or drank 5+ fosters strength pints and driven... or had 4+ stella strength

And I think most people would see that as a little different to a bottle of beer with a meal

keep in mind to get a 14 month ban shows that according to the sentencing guidelines is band c

http://www.drinkdriving.org/drink_driving_sentencing_guidelines.php

If he was just over it would be band a and the fact that it is not a nor b shows it is clearly over

I just don't see anything like the same attributes. Powell has talent, thats for sure but his lack of pace and intensity works against him a lot.

I think he have potentially better players in the youth teams....

I don't necessarily disagree with the rest, but he's got a nice burst of pace on him from what I've seen...

Any guesses where/how/if Powell fits in Van Gaal's system? Not really been discussed since Van Gaal was confirmed.

Obviously it depends on the formation but you'd imagine him playing centrally in midfield as one of the more advanced 3
I think he'd be great to come off the bench early in the season for someone like Fletcher/Carrick (assuming we don't sign anyone) and as the season progresses he can command a more regular place in the squad.

SAF rated him with Januzaj as the best talents on 2/3 occasions when he name dropped them together.

Moyes didn't get a proper look at him in pre season though as he was injured. Did well in the first half of the season for Wigan before injury and discipline problems struck.

His problem is that it's not figured out yet what his best position is, and it almost seems at times he is too casual and doesn't want it enough. Very talented though and can play number of roles well.

If we sell him we will regret it. This boy is ridiculous. Could see a breakthrough season ala Ross Barkley happening with him.
