NFL Thread 2014-2015

Yeah, for some reason it just stuck in my mind because it was reasonably odd. I remember reading at the time he was quite good at actual football so he was given the job when the kicker got injured. I also remember Welker doing similar for the Patriots when Gotskowski got injured a few years back
He kicked a field goal for the Dolphins as well.

I remember Tom Brady punting once, on a trick play, and Brees fecking up a drop kick at the pro bowl.

A great play from one of the most epic play off games ever. 1981 San Diego Charger at Miami Dolphins. End of the first half, Chargers up 24-10 totally dominating the Dolphins.

A game forever remembered for Kellen Winslows efforts in San Diego's OT win. But this was a great play that got Miami back in the game.

So the referee's press conference turned into a fecking disaster for the NFL. Read from the bottom up. No real evidence against the Pats then

Blandino: "Walt gauged the footballs himself. It’s something he has done throughout his career."

Biggest takeaway: How can the NFL say X-amount of balls were 1-2 PSI below the limit if they don't log the PSI upon measurement?

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe · 5h5 hours ago
What a disaster that was for the NFL.

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe · 5h5 hours ago
Blandino said the Colts balls were checked at halftime, too. But again, the PSI is only approved or disapproved.

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe · 5h5 hours ago
So the investigation is simply taking the word of Walt Anderson that all balls were properly checked in pregame. No other way to do it.

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe · 5h5 hours ago
Blandino said the referee does not log the PSI during the pregame ball check. They're either approved or disapproved.

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe · 5h5 hours ago
On balls, "ongoing investigation" blah blah blah

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe · 5h5 hours ago
Blandino said Pete Carroll misunderstood the message about a new ineligible received signal. It was used in the AFCCG.

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe · 5h5 hours ago
Last tweet, wow.

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe · 5h5 hours ago
On ineligible receivers, Vinovich: "I made announcement: Do not cover 34." Blandino: "Which we won't do (in SB)." Vinovich: "We won't?"

So the referee approved the balls without recording their pressure at the time of testing. That could mean the Pats balls were at the lower limit, thus passed, and then weather conditions played a role in deflating them. I'm sure Bill said something like this last week.

Unless someone owns up, or that video recording they have proves something, the NFL has no proof that the balls were intentionally deflated. Without even having recorded evidence as to the pressure of the balls, how do they plan on proving balls were actually deflated beyond what the referee says?

If they're guilty punish them, but I think the NFL made a mountain out of a molehill.

Watching this video of Gronk and Beast Mode playing Mortal Kombat with that Conan guy and absolutely wetting myself.

Could be NSFW since it has some pretty gruesome video game scenes but it is hilarious.

I haven't been following the deflation thing but how is this still not resolved? The NFL is so so incompetent.
How long should it take? Have to be able to prove someone intentionally let air out the balls right? Can't punish someone if does turn out to be the weather. better they take their time and get it right

Can anyone confirm what time (GMT) the kick off will be for the Superbowl?

Had a look around Google and getting conflicted results between 23.30 and 01:30

It should take The Time Until The Superbowl - X days. Where X is at least 4.
Based on what? What if all the witnesses don't tell the truth and they have to question them several times? Plus they are hardly going to interfere with the super bowl prep. If they don't even know what psi the balls were at when checked by the officials they really are stuck for trying to find someone to admit they did something.

Better they do a proper investigation then rush to meet some artificial deadline.

Though I do doubt they are in a rush to do anything before the Super Bowl.

End of the day I have a feeling they won't be able to prove wrong doing. Unless someone admits something.

MVP. A-Rod.

Shame MVP isnt playing in the superbowl next week after that calamitous breakdown 2 weeks ago :(

In a game he shouldn't have been playing in anyway. So let's not make a big deal of it.

Why am I hesitating on this 15/8 Seattle offer PaddyPower just offered me?

Super nervous for this. I find Superbowls the most nervous thing to watch when your team is playing - even more so than the Champions League Finals United have been in recently.

The big day is here!!! Hoping for a fantastic game and a Pats win.

Gronk and Blount will be key for us, as well as the OL protecting Brady. We must have a strong running game if we're to win.

Can't wait to see all the great match-ups, and Katy Perry too

Ground game will be key tonight. We need to stop Lynch and we need Blount to pick up big yards.

Hopefully we will be aggressive at the start and test just how banged up they could be. If the Seattle secondary is banged up as bad as they are making them out to be on the Game Day morning show then we need to be aggressive and see if that is the case.

Im feeling some nerves now too. Such a long day waiting for kick off :(

Bryan Stork changed to 'probable' , big boost, moves Wendell back to RG and gives us a full O-line again.
