NFL Thread 2013-14

Great catch! Atlanta suck this year, think they've missed their chance to win a SB.

Don't think Luck will get a comeback win this week!

Foles has been terrific the last few weeks.

Tough win for Denver.

Peyton has an injury. If something happens to him, Denver are quite fecked.

Costas interview with Brees on at the moment (NBC).

Brees took his number from Ted Williams. Brees is from Austin, TX, grew up a Cowboys and Longhorns fan, and graduated from Westlake HS, a school with a history of producing professional athletes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westlake_High_School_(Texas)#Athletics).

One would think his 6 TD passes in an NFL game are the most ever by a Westlake graduate. Nope, Nick Foles had a 7 TD game.

My pre-season prediction that Carolina would be a force this season is coming true. You can start calling me a genius now. :smirk:

Sean Lee done for, hamstring pull. That's Dallas' best defensive player (this season) out. They'll certainly lose especially with the passing game struggling at this point.

Still amazed no flag on that blatant late hit on Harris and concurrent yellow line infraction on that return earlier in the game.

Dem Cowboys keep playing like this and the Giants may just sneak into the playoffs. That division is awful.

Things are cyclical in the NFL. The NFC East rides the waves like other divisions. It will be a terrible division for a few years, or dominated by one club, and then suddenly all the clubs are good again or 2-3 are while one is a complete disaster (normally the Redskins).

The NFC West was atrocious for years until recently.

I can't believe Giants are in it after going 0-6 Lulz

 The dream continues... Eli has to pull his thumb out his ass, our running game won't last that long. But Dallas has a bye week coming up, so if we win against a Rodger-less Packers, a win in the Meadowlands against the Cowboys would have us equal in wins with a split head-to-head record. From there, who knows?

Don't write off the Eagles either, but hopefully Vick will return quickly.

Haha. Well in that case. I'm a Vikings fan and I still wish Rodgers would come back as soon as possible as he's fun to watch.

No fun in beating the Packers without Rodgers. It's like beating United Reserves :p

He was good for a few games when Rodgers got injured in 2010. He never took off after that.
I remember one game where he absolutely shredded a team to pieces, if you didn't know better you'd have said Rodgers was having a career game. He was getting hyped to feck too, too good to be a back up. Like you say though, never kicked on. He must be dong something seriously wrong in practice and preseasons, but how is he still getting huge contracts? I guess the Packers one must be low.

Reed to the Pats? It'd be the type of thing Bill would do, not sure what his injury record is like this year but we could use some leadership on D with Wilfork & Mayo done for the season.

Ed Reed released by Houston

Has he performed terribly this season? Dallas could certainly use some DBs with the injuries and shoddy performances.

age old story, seen many a QB have a few good games as a stand-in then get a big contract out of it with a new team and never quite each that level they showed in those few games.

Aka the Scott Mitchell syndrome.

I'd love to see it but its the D line they need reinforcements really. Also, there was talk of a move to the Pats in the summer but it didn't happen.
