NFL Thread 2013-14

It almost looks as if the steelers have given up in the last few plays. All of a sudden it all looks incredibly easy for the Patriots.

Brady finally comes alive. Good win. Stupid Sky killing RedZone before it ended is retarded.

At least now I can watch proper NFL analysis on C4.

Edit: disappointed the other dude is not there this week, he was excellent last week. Still, Carlson's not half bad!

Great start for Houston. Nice throw.

Bullshit call. No chance you can say that definitely hit his leg when out of bounds. feck off.

Watching this you'd think he's the first choice and Luck the undrafted, of course there's sweet feck all Luck can do if they don't/can't block Watt from rampaging all over their offensive line.

Disturbing pictures. Hopefully he is ok.

Texans coach collapsed at HT and was carried to a local hospital.

Jesus

I don't think people understand the stress that goes into being an NFL. Read an article in SI where one coach, forget who, basically says that he works near 15 hours a day during the season. The month or so leading up to the draft in the offseason are also basically 20 hour work days

I can imagine it being incredible pressure, especially with such a complicated sport.

Noises coming from the Texans camp is sounding a bit positive, he's awake and responsive, and the hospital trip is a precaution.

The Dolphins just suspended Richie Incognito indefinitely for "behavior detrimental to the team" while they investigate the bullying claims from Johnathan Martin. He seems like a huge prick. If he did send racially motivated texts to Martin, I don't see how he stays on the team. His black teammates certainly wouldn't be ok with that.

Vikings losing a one-score game in the last minute for the 5th time this year? I ain't even mad.

Well, Riley Cooper is still playing for the Eagles.

Incognito's always been a prick.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if those stories are true.

Incognito does seem like an asshole. Marshall Faulk sounded like an idiot too, when he said grown men can't be bullied. Of course they can.

I've heard in the past that's why plenty of players do not get into coaching after their career is over. Too many hours on film, practice, scouting, etc. And of course with the money guys make these days they can live well off post career (assuming they have been financially smart, which most are not) so why deal with these hours, players attitudes, etc. when you're well off and don't really need that kind of stress.

I seem to recall Elway chose front office work over coaching for reasons like the above. I've also heard that great players have a difficult time coaching because their expectations are much higher of players as they were once greats and the game was easier to them. It's a tough transition from being able to affect the outcome of a game when playing versus coaching. Magic Johnson mentioned something about his tenure as coach and how players couldn't relate to him, etc.

I'd much rather be in the front office calling the shots versus coaching. I think it takes a special kind of mindset and desire to coach, same for teaching.

I've heard stuff about him in the past. That's he rated as one the dirtier players in the league. A cheap shot guy too.

I'm curious if there could be some homosexual overtones in all of this (i.e. Martin is gay and/or they've pulled the juvenile jokes calling him gay, faggot, etc.).

Incognito's tweets display a typical macho, I'm a bad ass mofo, and paint me a picture that he is a meathead asshat.

Pats fans - the team scores 55, tops 600 yards offense, but how do they allow a pitiful Steelers offense to score 31 and near 500 yards offense, 400 of which were passing?

That's scary defense there.

NFL is funny at times though. Dallas shut down Philly's "revolutionary offense" (snickers) and yet they put up 49 on Oakland, granted Oakland are a terrible team but Dallas is mediocrity defined. And the Dallas D often burnt deep on the pass.

Any news on when Talib is back?

Aye, defence is gone to pot, no Wilfork, no Kelly, no Mayo, and no Talib.

Need another quality CB, can't rely on just Talib, as is painfully obvious.

Yep, but first we need Talib to sign a new contract!
