NFL 2024 | Christmas Day Double Header

I heard earlier this week that 2 point conversion is down from usual average of about 50% to about 32% this season. You can have anyone at QB but it's still a single play where things can go wrong. The chiefs went and got a TD in overtime but it's not as common as people think, most of the other OT games this season have seen 2 possession. It should also matter that there were 40 seconds & 2 timeouts left for the Ravens and I think if the Bengals get 2 that is still not a win. If anything if the game is tied then the Ravens are less likely to be aggressive when they get the ball
Baltimore scored on four straight possessions in the second half, the Bengals D was non-existent. So you either go to a 50/50 situation and hope the coin (literally) flips in your favor, or you think that your franchise QB with the ball in his hands at the 2-yard line has better odds than 50/50... I like the decision - and they should've gotten another shot at it for the non-call on Burrow as well.

That's not taking into account that a PAT is not a given either, Justin Tucker of all people missed one in this very game. So just like the 2-point conversion, still a play where things do go wrong.

On a scale of 0 to bacon sandwich where does it rate?

Seriously though, that looks great (I think I see some burnt ends there, delicious). I prefer Carolina (vinegar based) style myself as Kansas style tends to be too sweet, but that does look good.

Ranks very high on the bacon wrap scale. The BBQ sauce is quite sweet I agree but there was hardly any of it on the meat, with most of it being in the side pot. The burnt ends and sausage were absolutely insanely good and the brisket was very nice. Perhaps the best plate of meat I've ever had.

BBQ styles vary from state to state (and even within a state), so a great excuse to take a Tour of American BBQ!

I don’t mean to start an off-topic argument, so I’ll just say KC BBQ is second only to Texas Hill Country and all other arguments are invalid.

A great plate of BBQ and you have to ruin it with French fries

Proof that 'muricans will never be truly civilised.
I was told beforehand their fries were good and the BBQ beans were so-so. A side dish came with the BBQ plate I ordered and those 2 were the only sides I fancied eating. The fries were really, really good in fairness.

How was the brisket? Looking at the picture doesn't seem all that juicy, that sausage looks sexier than a Hollywood A-lister though.

Fried okra/aubergine would go so well with all that meat, give you a respite from the salt and fat. Heck, even a charcoal grilled corn on the cobb.

The brisket was very good and it was juicy, but the sausage and burnt ends were mindblowingly good. Had I had the brisket in the UK I'd be blogging about how fecking incredible it was on this site...but I'm not because the other 2 were even better.

Get rid of the eggplant and get some mac and cheese

I would like not to feel sick after a meal sir, our arteries arent made out of fat and cholesterol like yours.

Tbh though, despite the variety of side dishes, I would happily get just a well made sourdough to soak up all that juices, and a pitcher of sweet tea with mint to wash it down.

Anyway, back to football, the Chiefs will lose on Monday, surely....

Friend of mine paid a fortune for tickets there as it was his only option to see live NFL this year. Hope the football itself doesn’t detract from their weekend

2 people got married at the tailgate I was in.

They played the Curb your enthusiasm theme as the Broncos came on the field

Final game of four with all the teams in last year's conference finals. Played them all decently with no X or Y.
