NFL 2024 | Christmas Day Double Header

Absolute clownshow from the Cardinals. How do you put yourself in a position to eat a delay of game penalty on 3rd and 5 with no timeouts on that play before Murray took the sack?

I don't think United would manage to do that if they were an NFL team.

That Pats defender who intercepted it in the endzone and attempted to bring the ball out, only to be tackled half a foot outside of the endzone needs a clip on the ear.

Turned on Seahawks. 1 min 25 seconds left on the clock. Takes about 10 mins to play that out.

Just seems absolutely pointless.

I'll try again next year.

Games often move far slower in the final 2 minutes of the first half and the final 5 minutes of the seconds half. That's because:

A) The clock stops if a player runs out of bounds with the ball. This does not happen in the other 53 minutes of the game.

B) Most teams will use their time outs that will stop the clock running and the game is also paused for an extra 30 seconds.

The clock will move very fast if you run the ball a lot.

So funny that Raiders & Jags who are both going to fire their coaches are playing so hard to win. Biggest winners though are the Giants who are getting the first pick

This 49ers Purdy situation is getting interesting, still think that they will pay him this offseason but not as certain as I was say 6 weeks back

This cowboys kicker is nuts.

I know, that 58 yard kick was fecking insane. Straight down the pipe and looked like it could go 10-20 yards further. It's his TENTH kick over 50 yards this season, the longest being 60 yards. Unfeckingreal to watch.

I thought it was a great game too, some of the hits were fecking brutal. I counted at least 5 that made me whince. The sound of those was sickening, one of them was with shoulder/back as he flew in and twisted as he hit. The game had everything including some really dodgy fumbles and cracking over the shoulder catches at full speed.

Also, the ref was more ripped than some of the players. He looked like a WWE wrestler

Hard to see past the Chiefs again this season though. Sadly their defensive play just stifles everyone else. They also have a pretty low for/against average so most games are pretty tight.

Hopefully the Lions or Bills get through to the Superbowl. They have been the most entertaining to watch this season mainly because of their all out cavalier offences and high scoring games. They are like the Spurs of the NFL this year, with the Chiefs being Mouronho's Inter Milan. Although I have to be honest, last year's Superbowl was such a great game, I really enjoyed it, lovely to see defensive football at its best. Just not what the casual viewer likes to see, especially not on Superbowl Sunday.

Their main rival in the AFC laid 30 points on them in a convincing win, so at least there's that.

They'll likely win quite easily in the Divisonal round against the Steelers / Broncos / Texans / whichever team goes through with the lowest seed. All hope rests on Josh Allen imo.

Yeah, that ruined their clean sheet season too. Allen has been immense, but Goff has been consistent as hell as well. Not the longest yardage for him this season but his pass completion success rate is in the 70's% and the Lions have been fun to watch this season. I'd love to see either win this year, both had great seasons so far.

Wouldn't go as far to say the Bills win was convincing. On balance it was deserved but it was a close game that came down to a Josh Allen 4th & 2 conversion at 23-21 with just over 2 minutes left. Had he not converted it the Chiefs probably would have drove down the field and won with a walk off field goal. It was about as convincing as most of the Chiefs wins this season.

"We would've won had the other team not converted" You're so full of shite when it comes to your own team, unreal stuff.

In the end it was a two-score win on the scoresheet - the Chiefs have 3 such wins in 14.

I'm full of shit? How about I've literally seen Mahomes do exactly that time and time again for years. And you are omitting the key word in that "quote" of mine. I said the Chiefs probably would have drove down the field.

Are you suffering from brain rot or something?

You can't take anything negative about your own team, you whine constantly about it when others on here give your team shit or argue that you're getting favored, your comments on other games are purely Chiefs-focused ("come on team X which plays our AFC rival"), most of your posts are extreme hyperbole ("worst INT I've ever seen") or extremely cringe ("Russ cooking, Russ kitchen"), and you come across as a complete dick most of the time.

I'm not gonna give you my time of day anymore and put you on ignore which I should've done a lot sooner. But rest assured I'll tag you to have a good laugh should the Chiefs not win the Super Bowl for a change.

I don't think I can endure another Superbowl winners acceptance speech from a quarter back that sounds like he's been sucking helium from a balloon before he speaks.

 bye.

I think this is Bills year. Allen has that extra something this season.

The Cards and Bucs losing very important games for their playoff hopes (albeit not quite must-win) to two shitty teams did not go well for my parlays

Could well be but their defense really needs to step up in the playoffs because it ain't looking great at the mo. They are also set to go through a gauntlet to get to the Super Bowl. They can obviously do it but it will be a tough ask.

This just came up in my Twitter feed. Sadly I'm too young to remember this, but wow. What a pass, what a collision and what a catch then run to TD.

To be fair, I see your point. Mahomes is a bit like a poor's man Darnold. If you give him the last possession, he will get points.

The All-11 camera angle surfaced a couple of years ago, still can't determine if Harris actually caught the ball before it hit the deck...

No, I can't tell either. The original I posted is so fast moving, you don't really see the ball, I suppose you're distracted by the huge collision and rebound of the player skidding along the floor after the hit. The next thing you hear the ball was caught in the air and see the player running towards the end zone. fecking amazing play nonetheless.

Watching American Football now is more like watching F1 at times with all the technology. One thing that's for sure is it's a hell of a lot easier to learn the game now for someone who never played it and only watches it on TV. I started watching in the early 80's and it took me years to understand it properly. The indepth analysis nowadays with the slo-motion cams and angles and commentary is so much more advanced and easier to understand.
