NFL 2023

Rodgers hasn't even officially signed and he's already begun being a dick. The last post he liked on twitter...

Why do you think Lebron is a better basketball player than Michael Jordan? IMO he is not.

The second paragraph is not a non-argument. It goes some way to explaining why in the 2 lists I referenced, QBs were not top of the list and there was only one QB in the top four in both cases. It's not a sport just about QBs, although it is becoming more and more like that as time goes on.
Curious to know why you think James is a better basketball player than MJ.

e - just saw the above post by Andrade. Don't waste time also replying to me!
Now we are taking the NBA into the NFL thread

He can assist like the best PGs, he's physically more imposing than MJ (bigger, faster, stronger, more of an all-around freakish athlete), he adapted and changed his own game when needed in different situations and when the league started changing its way of play (paint/perimeter compared to his mid-range game earlier on), ...

MJ has the scoring, the pure dominance, the defensive part (although James isn't as far off as some would have you believe imo), but personally I just put more value into LeBron's basketball IQ, how he can run an entire offense and involve his teammates, ... To me that's more of a complete all-around basketball player than Jordan was.

Disagree of course but can't derail another thread!

Lebron over MJ - there's an argument to be made there.

Brady over a good 5-10 QBs - please.

Wilson is also an idiot for saying that (assuming he did)

Rodgers is an asshole, just a fact at this stage. More painful now when the Jets feck is sideways twice this year.

Draft week guys! Gonna be such a good first round, anything can happen at this point.

If I'm the Texans I'm doing everything I can to reunite Stroud and JSN and try to replicate the Burrow-Chase connection. If the Texans have taught me anything is that they're a good bet to not trade down, select Tyree Wilson at #2 and Bijan at #12 if he's still on the board there.

One of these is not like the other...

NFL media and hype machine is so bad, been so for years.

Rodgers just admitting he's packing it in and hoping for one last hurrah in NY and preparing for his life after the NFL. Jets are a shitshow of an organization and he just adds to it.

It's unlikely but not out of the realms of possibility. Just giving your new franchise QB a security blanket he's familiar with can be of great value - and of course Burrow-Chase is a tier (or a few tiers) above Stroud-JSN but reuniting your QB with his (one of his) favorite college target(s) has proven to be a formula for success.

There are a lot of people arguing that the Texans should rightfully pass on QB because they wouldn't be competitive in the AFC with Mahomes, Lamar, Allen, Herbert, Burrow, Rodgers, Lawrence, Watson, ... But I'm saying that's exactly the reason why they should draft a QB. It's simply the position that matters most and you need to shoot your shot until you get it right, especially if you're picking second. Unless I'm way off, Stroud isn't a particularly worse prospect coming out than the likes of Herbert and Allen (and Lamar?) were. If he turns out to be the real deal, you can finally start looking towards the future. If he doesn't then you reload in one or two years time. But if you pass on him now there's zero guarantee you'll lose enough games to draft Williams or Maye next season either. Passing on QB because your conference is stacked is a surefire way to being a perennial loser imo, if they have to wait to draft a QB until the AFC QB's are on the decline they might as well sit out the next decade plus.

If Burrow wants his other security blanket I'll drive Clyde Edwards-Hellaire over there myself and trade him for a bowl of skyline chili.

1.01 dynasty draft has to be Robinson right?
Rookie draft, yes - start-up draft I've also seen him go first overall but that's a bit rich for me.

I could see a scenario where Gibbs goes to the Chiefs/Bengals and Bijan has a bad landing spot and they might flip (kinda like CEH and JT a few years back), but even then... Couldn't be me, factoring in Bijan's projected top-15 draft capital.

Aye this is the rookie one I mean. I'm 1.01 and helps that I need a rb

That’s where I’ve traded to. I have a strong feeling he’s going 1.02 though.
2nd place has more or less confirmed he's taking gibbs so I think I'm OK.

Its our first year doing thw dynasty format so we just done the vet only draft last weekend. It's pretty clear what everyone's needs are

There's talk of us trading up to 19 if there's a player left who we really want. I really really want the Chiefs to go out and get Zay Flowers but I doubt he'll be on the board by the 19th pick and I don't think we are going to trade up higher than that.

That’s with us. Do you know what’s been offered for a trade?

I’d love more picks tbh.

Nothings come out about the proposed trade but I imagine it would be our 31st, 63rd and one of our 6th round picks.

Might be the first draft I miss in over a decade. Any UK folks know how to watch the morning after, spoiler free?

Do you have Sky or BT or something that will record?

There will probably be something up on Youtube fairly quickly, not sure of it will be the full draft, or highlights, or some commentary show like Draft Center.

How does everyone think this will go. If the Texans don't take a QB at number 2, which is being mocked a lot, then there could be a raft of trades to get into the 3-8 positions and take those left.

Record it on sky, nfl gamepass or you could listen to a podcast. Let me know if you need login details for gamepass!
