NFL 2023

How does everyone think this will go. If the Texans don't take a QB at number 2, which is being mocked a lot, then there could be a raft of trades to get into the 3-8 positions and take those left.
Indy makes a slight jump to 3 via the Cards to gazump (is that a real word?) anyone after their QB and then all hell breaks loose, especially if Jalen Carter gets past Seattle at 5.

I'll be watching with my boy RayGQue's livestream.

Ray's great, glad to find another fan on here  And he's also a great college prospect evaluator.

Don't think that happens though, because someone could still trade into #2 to get the QB of their choice?

Jalen Carter goes to Seattle or Chicago imo, not slipping out of the top 10. I think the Colts draft Stroud if he's available at #4 and otherwise the Titans might slightly trade up. The Raiders are too bad at drafting to get him at #7, probably.

My prediction (no trades):

1. Young
2. Anderson
3. Johnson Jr.
4. Stroud
5. Richardson
6. Witherspoon
7. Gonzalez
8. Robinson
9. Carter
10. Wilson
11. Levis
12. Smith
13. JSN
14. Van Ness
15. Skoronski

Would love it if the Packers draft a first round WR for the first time in forever exactly the week in which Rodgers left them

Has there ever been a successful NFL quarterback who has only played the position for 1 year (and been quite average at it) prior to being drafted like Richardson? Can't help feeling that he will be a mega bust.

I've seen Meyer mocked to the Packers quite a lot, so not a WR but probably a receiving threat at least :D

Also seen Meyer mocked to the Chargers a lot.

He’s this draft’s Malik Willis. Well, let me amend that a little - even Willis played well at Liberty.

He will most certainly be a mega bust.

I think he'll end up at the Raiders or the Titans.

The biggest unknown to me is what the Texans do, if they don't take a QB at 2. Think if they do want a QB they will move up. They could also make a move for Trey Lance.

There has also never been a QB entering the NFL as athletic as Richardson either. Ever.

That said, I agree that his bust potential is very high. But in the unlikely scenario that a QB coach gets him to figure it out, oh my.

He's definitely going to be an interesting watch. He's basically the complete opposite of Purdy, who was the best rookie QB from 2022. I wonder if the Ravens will make a move for him.

The thing to keep in mind regarding ARich is he missed his senior year of HS through injury and his frosh year was COVID with a coaching staff incompetent enough to not know to start Dameon Pierce.

Despite this he still has quite good pocket awareness (rare for his inexperience) and his accuracy is fine when his footwork is in order. A proper coaching staff can turn him into a superstar.

Apparently the Vikings are 1 of three teams that have spent significant time working with him.
That sounds ominous.

We have so many holes to fill, I'd rather we trade out of the first to accrue picks. I am basically like a neutral tonight & am pretty geeked about the draft as there could be some head scratchers tonight.

Yeah. The rumour about Cousins and Trey Lance being a topic of conversations between the 49ers and Vkings during the combine have given life to what I believe is the most sensible approach which is to go with Lance in 23-24, see if he is above average or even elite, if he is bad the Vikings will trade high next year and will be able to get an other top prospect at QB.

Now if they somehow get Richardson then hopefully he is Lamar Jackson on steroids, you build him for a year and let him cook in 24-25. But I think someone else is going to take him higher also too many teams can offer better trade up packages.

I really hope this is the end for CEH at KC. Perhaps he's included in a deal for D Hop? There was a huge correlation between my enjoyment of our season and CEH being dropped last year.

Lots of rumors the titans have made a deal with Arizona for the third pick. Colts must be bricking it.

There's a lot of you on here who need to eat your own words re: Lamar being stupid for not taking what he was offered, being stubborn and making a mistake by representing himself, for believing he was hurting himself.

Highest-paid player in NFL history

Yep. Hand up. I just detest Lamar because of what he did over a couple of games to my Seminoles years back.

But props to him for getting paid.

Let's say you're projected to be going in the third round and you have an equal chance to start with every team. What is the team you are hoping does not select you?

I sometimes wonder if a few of the players are crying because they've been selected by a team they really don't want to be at.

Cleveland.

Cleveland.
They're the one who instantly comes to mind. Don't think I'd like to go to Green Bay for 4 years with them rebuilding and the shitty cold weather to boot.

Yea that doesn’t seem like a great destination in terms of lifestyle.

On the flip side of that, Miami weather and the lack of a state income tax is something you’d be quite happy with.

As I thought the issue wasn't the average wage but likely the structure. 185M are guaranteed while the total worth is 260m.

Forgot about the taxes. Miami's too hot for me. This place is more like it:

When is Rich Eisen getting on? These guys on the NFL channel are boring and annoying.

Imagine if the Panthers select Levis like it was rumoured earlier this week
