Texans ain’t waiting around.
Holy shit, they really aren't. Traded up to 3 and going back to back!Texans ain’t waiting around.
Still a massive risk that guy. I am not sold on him. It's quite funny how a team in the last Super Bowl ends up with the highest rated player in the Draft at 9.
They still have a 1st left next year from the Watson trade - had 12 picks this year and 11 next year so definitely draft capital enough to make that move imo. Actually for all the crap I've given them, love how they played this out. Get your potential franchise QB at #2 instead of fecking around and then give your new HC and former Niners DC his guy on defense. Loved this move, although sticking to #12 and drafting some help for Stroud would've been nice as well - guess that's what they'll focus on from now on in this draft, or at least they should. The Texans giving up a 1st next year with that roster. Woof.
But what if they are a generational talent? They could transform their offenses immediately.Considering what the top RB’s actually make right now it makes no sense to me to take Gibbs at 12 for a team like the lions

I was being sarcastic. I firmly believe that picking RBs in the first round is sheer stupidity.Well as per most people the generational talent was Bijan and lions could have just taken him at 6 then. I think Gibbs will be good but I am just not sure that this was the move for a team on the verge of being a contender
Wonder how much that will change this year with their new OC, I've seen a lot of Ravens fans who felt Greg Roman was the biggest issue when it came to their lack of WR usage and they've added OBJ and now Flowers for Lamar to use. They still have a 1st left next year from the Watson trade - had 12 picks this year and 11 next year so definitely draft capital enough to make that move imo. Winners: as always, Eagles with a very solid round as well imo - best prospect in the class and another Georgia defender to add to an already stacked front seven, that's just scary. Great move by the Cardinals also to get some additional draft capital and still get the guy they want. Same for the Pats, moving down and getting a top-10 player with Gonzalez was a great move. Vice versa the Steelers did well to move up a few spots (and more importantly ahead of the Jets, I think) to get Pickett some much-needed protection. And lastly I think the Seahawks had a great round, they're set at CB for the foreseeable future now and they have their replacement for Lockett next year or the year after that with the best WR in this draft. Still wonder if they would've taken Richardson at #5 if the Colts didn't - might've changed the entire draft because then the Lions wouldn't have traded down at #6.
What I didn't like was the Bears not drafting Carter, but I guess them wanting to protect Fields a bit more makes sense as well. Also think the Lions panicked when the Seahawks nabbed Witherspoon in front of them - essentially what many thought that Gibbs' role would be in the NFL is exactly what D'Andre Swift does best, so not sure how they'll fit both of them into their offense.
For fantasy: weird to see how the fantasy community was right on Kincaid, while Michael Mayer was widely regarded as (by far) the top-rated TE in this class at the conclusion of the college football season. Zay Flowers getting first round capital is great, Zay Flowers paired to the Ravens' notoriously bad offense for WRs: not so much. I wished the Chargers would've gone Addison over Johnston but the selection makes sense I guess. Don't like Addison stuck behind JJ now. And Richardson, fourth overall fecking hell. Gonna be a fun ride to see what he can do.
Oh and Will Levis though Some may find it funny but I always feel for the guys being in the green room and ending up not getting selected, that must be tough.
Yup, total of 38 times he was shown or something like that, I read this morning. First time ever I tried to watch the whole thing in full on demand, but after around pick 13-16 I started skipping the parts between the "SELECTION" signs, too spun out for me.Wonder how much that will change this year with their new OC, I've seen a lot of Ravens fans who felt Greg Roman was the biggest issue when it came to their lack of WR usage and they've added OBJ and now Flowers for Lamar to use.
Yeah, felt sorry for Levis being left. There were a few others still in there as well but at least those guys barely got shown. With him, you had the constant cuts back to show him just waiting.

Terrible deal to not keep their own pick. That pick could be Caleb or May, who teams will be desperate to trade up for, or a #1 WR which they desperately need.I also think I jumped the gun by saying the Texans did great. I loved that they got Stroud and traded up for "their guy" on defense, but if you look at who they could've picked at #12 without giving up their own 24 1st (they kept the Browns'), then they gave up more than what the perceived difference between Will Anderson and someone like Van Ness, Gonzalez or Nolan Smith, probably.
Don't blame you, there was so much filler in between the picks.Yup, total of 38 times he was shown or something like that, I read this morning. Monken might indeed be an upgrade yeah (hard to see how he's not) but Flowers is still landing in a low-volume spot, you'd be foolish not to use Lamar's strength as a runner to the fullest as his OC. That, combined with the addition of OBJ and presence of Andrews and Bateman, is just not that ideal for a great rookie year, likely.
