That one seems a bit out of left field.
He’s really sharp. Might be the next big thing. I’d take the young up and comer over Zimmer, the optics of hiring a Pats defensive assistant notwithstanding...

Fair enough. I’m hoping for an offensive mind like Hackett, but can’t claim to know enough about this dude. He’s really sharp. Might be the next big thing. I’d take the young up and comer over Zimmer, the optics of hiring a Pats defensive assistant notwithstanding...

More like it IMO.
As much as a HC change was important for the Broncos, I still think the issue is secondary to finding a QB. As much as bad coaching hasn’t helped, the killer issue is not finding a QB post Manning.
Boss you should know by now I watch every game in 40 (not that that changes the fact that I’m generally ab idiot )Whilst I generally agree, this roster should have made the playoffs and would have done with non-shit play-calling and decision making from the sideline.
RedZone and highlights will obviously show you a lot and you’re quite right that we need really an elite QB, but watching full games you so often end up utterly baffled by what the team does on offence.
ST is even worse, if McMahon survives the changes I’m flying to Denver to protest outside the stadium.

I would say a better HC would have got you closer to contention to playoffs but wouldn’t say it’s anywhere near a certainty you should be in there. I guess what I mean is, you need both to contend. You could hire the brightest offensive mind but with your QB room there is still a low ceiling for the Broncos. But on the other hand if you’d found an elite QB you’d probably achieve the same outcome as hiring a top HC.
It’s a bit more of a different situation to, say, the Jags. Who can hire a top HC, invest heavily in free agency, and work to becoming a top team with the right moves as they’ve got Lawrence. For Denver, in some ways the road is actually harder because other than a blockbuster move for Rodgers, Wilson or Watson, with the 9th(?) pick it’s hard to immediately see where your saviour is coming.
We definitely need to solve the QB situation. I think we pretty much agree overall tbf, I’m just of the view that the coaching was so goddam bad it was a joke.
We’d have ended with a winning record just by having Shurmur told he isn’t allowed to call passing plays ffs.
For sure - and in any case just cos you need a QB too isn’t a reason to not go and find your right HC. I was really just talking more generally about the Broncos in that this is only step 1 of a 2 step process!
There were some hilarious Denver stats which I don’t want to suffer through again showing how inept the playcalling was. Passing it in close games when you have Javonte and MGIII despite the QB pressures allowed being near the bottom of the league…stuff like that.
If I was a cynic or this was my fantasy team, I’d run it back with Lock assuming with that record we’d be within range of drafting a proper QB in ‘23. But you can’t allow that losing mentality to take root in the locker room; we need to do something now.
I’m starting to think Rodgers may not leave GB now. All the signs seem to be pointing to a much better relationship with the GM now. Who knows though.Yea totally agree.
If we get Hackett as HC and trade for Rodgers I’m going to explode. Even though Rodgers is a cock.

I’d go all in on Wilson tbh.
But in all seriousness though, the % chances of either being traded is very very low. Watson aside, which has its own question marks, what do Denver actually do to fix the QB situation? I’m struggling to think of anyone viable at this moment.I could live with that too

I’m on the lookout for a second team to keep an eye on. I was always going to watch on with interest wherever Rodgers goes but if it’s the Broncos they could be the team for me. They’re in contention with the Dolphins at the minute as I’ve played a few years at both in Face of Franchise mode on Madden. Plus I quite like the colour schemeYea totally agree.

Rodger’s coming out as a massive covid plank has soured my excitement slightly but will be interesting none the less. Unless he stays of course.
Wait for the post June 1 mark when Atlanta can split the cap hit over an extra year for losing Matt Ryan. I think that’s feasible? I’m not in full off-season form so I don’t recall contract intricacies. But in all seriousness though, the % chances of either being traded is very very low. 50% of the top 10 consists of Herbert --> Guyton and Wilson --> Lockett
Not doing a deep dive into the legal minutiae and history of this case, but it means the Broncos will have a new owner before too long. Possibly as soon as this spring. edit: makes for an interesting coaching hire situation.

Do the owners want to sell then? If so why, out of curiosity?
Well, some of those involved didn’t want to sell; now they can’t block it. The Pat Bowlen trust that he set up to arrange transfer of ownership before he succumbed to Alzheimer’s can now determine which sale is in the best interests of the franchise. It’s a long story...Do the owners want to sell then? If so why, out of curiosity?
