I'm guessing he's being paid by Soros, right?

This undercurrent of racism and xenophobia has always been active in the USA, but over the past 10 years it has absolutely exploded due to the out of control liars on social media - they create a story, it becomes a meme, it's discredited, the source deletes his account - but the ol' hick that barely knows how to use a computer doesn't know how to do any fact checking. It snowballs and lies and exaggeration become fact.

Which has been a problem with social media from day one. It does not have to even be right wing politics, it can be anything, gossip about a celebrity, science fact or fiction, rumors that spread during a breaking news event (heck where do you think a lot of the 9-11 conspiracy nuts got their initial misinformation, the wild rumors the were flying around that day as events unfolded), sadly now with social media so prevalent these things just spread faster and take a bigger hold.

But back to the NFL, can't wait for tomorrow night. Then Sunday. Hell Saturday I may even sit down and watch a bunch of college games no matter who is playing.

Poor Browns, Garrett out 4-6 weeks.

I think i am going to have to miss the opener tonight, I scheduled holiday at work but my housekeepers constantly phoning in sick so i have to go in. cnuts.

I realised earlier I'm at a fecking wedding on Sunday all night.

Who gets married on a bastard Sunday?!

If the Bills lose to the Jets, the meltdown in Western NY will be fantastic.

Barring injuries, if the Pats do not win at least 5 of their 6 division games, I will be surprised. A nice head start for them building towards home field advantage for the play offs.

You expecting the Fins to fluke a win with Cutler in charge? Because the games against the Bills and Jets are gimme games for the Pats.

I'm really excited / curious to see how the individual match ups play out, hope it doesn't disappoint.

Seahawks fans are hyped about Sheldon Richardson, esp with Bulaga's minor injury concern. If Bulaga is fit, I expect the O-Line to keep them out. But if Bulaga is injured, it may be a bit more dicey, but then Aaron Rodgers is a scrambling ninja in the pocket.

The Patriots could play every game with their shoelaces tied together and still win that piss division.

Football is back!!

Unfortunately can't stay up to see the game, but hopefully Pats start off with a win. Chiefs will be a tough test.

I really don't want to be the guy who tries to undermine the amazing work the Patriots, especially Belichick and Brady, do every year. But that division is so unbelievably horrible each year. It's really frustrating to see how easy their path to the playoffs is. The Jets and the Bills don't pose any threat at all and the Dolphins are without their QB. I'd go as far as putting the Jets and Bills into the five worst teams in the league and the Fins might make the top ten.

Whilst I agree, and that it's a major advantage for home field in particular, the fact we do so well even in the playoffs shows that we aren't there just because it's an easy division.

Don't get me wrong we benefit massively from it, but our playoff performances show we deserve to be there which I think makes it a bit different.

Having the piss easy division and easy run to the playoffs obviously helps with the playoffs themselves. Try getting out of the AFC West and seeing how fresh you'd be for the playoffs!

I totally agree. I just wish the other teams in your division would make it at least a little bit more difficult to get homefield advantage or bye weeks.
Generally speaking, I don't think the AFC is that strong anyway. There is a lack of quality QB's there. Only the Colts, Steelers and Raiders have true quality at the QB position and the Colts manage to field a horrible team each year anyway.
The Pats are amazing and playing on a stunning level year in and year out. But there could be a little more resistance here and there.

But maybe that's just a cheesehead speaking out of frustration due to our own woes in the playoffs.
