Would be surprised, if Hightower hasn't torn something there.

Hunt's wiki page has been updated.
--On Hunt's first career NFL carry, he fumbled, with the ball being recovered by the New England Patriots, followed by one reception for five yards in the first quarter. Ironically, Hunt never recorded a fumble during his college career. [10] Hunt then overcame his fumble by catching a touchdown late in the first half followed by a 78-yard receiving touchdown and rushing touchdown in the 4th quarter. He would become only the third player since 1970 with 150 scrimmage yards and 3 touchdowns in his NFL debut, along with Marshall Faulk (1994) and Billy Sims (1980), as the Chiefs would end up defeating the Patriots 42-27.--

Gonna be a long season for pats fans.

They'll sleepwalk to the AFC East division title, shoe-in for probably all six wins there. They'll win at least ten games.

Can't tell if sarcasm or not.

Btw been a Pats fan my entire life (have family in Massachusetts and went to games when I was a growing up on vacation there) and haven't missed a game since I began watching (13 years and counting).

Honestly best case scenario. First loss out of the way, BB will give the entire team shit next week in practice for it and will be much better from it. Cooks was great, nearly 100 yards receiving and at least 50+ yards gained which don't show up on the stats sheet from all the penalties he caused the defense to make on passes to him. Tom is fine. Don't know how big of fans you folks are on here being a UK based forum but for the casual fans, no panic from NE side of things whatsoever lol. Been through it all. Last time KC spanked us was the "We're on to Cincinnati" and the rest is history (won the SB :) )

Kudos to the Chiefs and Andy Ried. Excellent execution today. Tbh I'm kinda glad...have Hunt on my fantasy team :p

Massive gamble by the Patriots and a major stop for the Chiefs.

Kinda shot ourselves in the foot with those couple 4th down plays. Easy QB sneak 1st downs for Tom. Don't get why we elected to not run that play as 1/2 yard or less sneaks for Brady is nearly a 100% success rate but no biggie.

...and how unlucky with these injuries early on. Hope Dola is nothing serious and taken out for precautionary reasons. Went from the best WR depth to what, 3 maybe 4 healthy receivers left? Lol. Hope we bring back Austin Carr who was an absolute beast in he pre season and unfairly cut. Or sign Anquan Boldin who'd be a huge signing (there were reports a few days ago he'd consider holding off retirement and possibly join the Pats).

@VancouverUtdFan @MrMarcello I meant they will be a bit boring to watch if these injuries keep piling on.

Ah I see. Will still win regardless...people tend to forget 2011 where we lost to the Giants (feck the Giants lol) in the SB...BB and the Pats were rebuilding that year and made it to the finals with a shit ton of injuries and no real weapons. As long as Tom and BB are there, we'll always have a chance. The division we're in helps too :wenger:

Happy the "can they go 16-0" stuff is already over now as well.

Ffs:(

Knew Chiefs would be a very difficult game & not surprised we lost. Need to see the highlights but sounds like we were really bad.

Just watched the highlights on NFL.com, Patriots secondary looked particularly poor.

Yep & that was supposed to be our strength in D!! Brees is next up so it's not going to get easier but it will be a good indication if this D (especially the secondary) is going to be a problem for us going forward.

People not giving the chiefs enough credit tbh, they were great in the second half last season and have continued from there.

I don't think people are suggesting the result is just down to the Patriots being poor, the Chiefs are a very good team and performed very well.

Thing is there's lots of Patriots fans on here who will naturally look to their own failings first, and the rest of us list enjoy seeing the Patriots lose :)

Chiefs looking this good doesn't bode well for the Broncos' chances to win the division though. Throw in the Raiders who should be better than last year and Rivers with some extra weapons... The AFC West truly is stacked with talent all around, easily the best division in the NFL right now alongside NFC East and South to a lesser extent.

They've been very solid the last 2/3 years & I've got them making the AFC Championship game (where the Pats will get their revenge!)

I think Reid deserves a lot of credit with what he's done. D is very good, offense functions well & their running game is very good. I like Smith as a QB, he's solid & dependable & was excellent tonight but can he lead them to a SB?! That's my one big concern with the Chiefs. I don't think he has the skill set or mentality to do the spectacular & drag them to a championship.

The AFC West has been the toughest division for a few years. I don't think we'll win it, but we'll get a wildcard entry into the playoffs.

Chiefs were excellent. Smith looked excellent. And Hunt looks a player. I didn't think they'd be that good (of course only one game though) and having seen that I'd be very surprised if Broncos get through.

As for us, our defence was shocking. Giving up three huge plays. Also some dodgy play calls. But also was shocked at how poor our offence looked too. Brady looked off too.

But hopefully a wake up call. Perhaps some of the guys will get a kick up the ass now.

I think if the rest of the team performs as well as they did today, he doesn't need to be the one who drags them to the championship. He just needs to function and manage the game.

0% chance Broncos are winning the division

I had originally had Broncos as maybe division winners and almost defo wildcard. Mile High is a huge advantage and probably provides the biggest home advantage of any home stadium.

But that was assuming Raiders tail off a bit and the Chiefs wouldn't be much of a challenging team.

I'm now thinking Broncos may finish 3rd. Question is if you get enough wins for two wild cards out of the West. Possible given the lack of true quality in the other divisions. Suspect it'll be a close call with either the Texans or Titans (whichever don't win).
