I honestly think that could be the end of the Pats window. Brady simply can't defy time for much longer, rumours about Gronk retiring, Butler will be leaving for definite now, both coordinators gone, incredibly weak linebacker core minus Hightower.

Brady has covered up a lost of weaknesses for a long time.

Completely agree. 40 is already beyond where most QBs retire, nevermind lead their teams to Super Bowl appearances. Brady is basically good, actually great, as a distributor of the ball to his receivers, but once the pocket collapses there is a real vulnerability that will only grow if he sticks around for another year or two. That said, his leadership and galvanizing qualiries as the greatest QB to ever play the game is not something that can be discounted, so the Pats are going to have to make some decisions in the next year or two. They would be wise to use this year's 1st round pick to take advantage of one of the many good QBs coming out.

Yeah I think this is the beginning of the end of the dynasty. The co-ordinators will be a big loss, especially McDaniels. There’s so many deficiencies on D you wonder how they’ll fix them all & Brady at some point will slow down.

I think Bill will give it one more year before calling time too. Brady has nothing to prove but his desire for ‘one more’ will always remain. I hope he retires before he turns into a shadow of his former self (think Peyton, although he did win the ring)

Collinsworth and Michaels were terrible, as someone rightly pointed out earlier in the season the NFL catch rules are made even harder by the fact that the commentators who are paid to explain them can't understand what is happening half the time. That Ertz TD was a clear one and yet they behaved as if the sky had fallen

Everyone watching the game with me wondered why they needed to double check that TD. It was clear as day.

No it wasnt. The main decision there was deciding if he was a "runner". If he caught it and went down straight away without taking those 4 steps then it wasnt a TD cause he had no control since he the ball bobbled out. But he caught it and ran with it while having control, his bobble didnt count and it was considered a TD. The commentators dont know what the ref is going to do there. That was their confusion. They did try to explain the situation. Its a similar to how in football, when there is a last man tackle, if the ref is going to give the player a red. The commentators the situation but still dont know what the ref is going to do.

Its almost poetic that the first time winner the Eagles put an end to this Patriots dynasty. Honestly cant wait for that to happen so all these "fans" around me can shut it for good.
The city of Philadelphia though, god bless them with the riots

This.

I really do apologise to those who may have noticed my repeated moan about how there were so many Patriots fans online on the Caf last night.

I genuinely was perplexed at the amount - especially given Patriots have a reputation of being disliked.

Always nice for the underdog to win in the SuperBowl.

Anyone know why Brady didn't stay to shake hands with Foles?

Except he did?

I’m gonna go home and watch the second half that I slept through and fully enjoy every second

If Brady really didn't congratulate Foles that really is twattish.
Isnt it super chaotic on the field though after the game? More so than a regular season game and with all the decorations coming down, it might be hard to find one specific player. I think we can cut the losing QB some slack for not shaking hands. Maybe he did it later.

He ran straight off the field, it's pathetic and really classless. Just another reason to dislike Brady and the Patriots.

Some patriots 2018 super bowl champions gear is on it's way to some shit hole country today

You deserve a response? You dont deserve shit. It their team, their business, their money, their decisions, they will learn to live with it. You just want to get your ratings higher and focus on the gossip side of things.

These are always the dumbest types of responses.

The fans are what drive the league and individual teams. They are the ones that pay for the tickets and merchandise and make it possible for the players and coaches to get cut the cheques they do. So to say we don’t deserve a response? Yea, stop being so ignorant. Stupid logic is stupid.

But hey whatever to fit the anti Brady/Pats narrative I guess

Opposing QB's always shake hands and exchange congrats/condolences after the game.

Yeah why dont you demand a response for every single thing then from the team, like who they sign, who they trade, who they fire, etc. Why do only need an answer for the so called controversial decisions? You think Fergie explained every controversial decision to us?

Except he didn’t

That's not Foles. He was clearly shown running of the field and then I googled it and it was confirmed he didn't shake his hand. Not the end of the world but pretty classless especially as he's been to the SB so many times.

Fair enough. If you remember however, Foles was in shock (obviously) when the hail marry fell incomplete and was celebrating on the sidelines and caught up by his teammates surrounding him. Maybe it took too long and Brady left? Could very well be because Tom certainly didn’t just “run straight off”.

Either way, Brady caught up with Eagles players post game as well and congratulated them so he definitely wasn’t ducking or dodging anyone.

I very much doubt Foles could care less that he didnt get a hug from Brady. He just won the frigging Superbowl!

Brady is 40 going on 25, guy still has 8 years left in him which means the Pats will be strong for 8 more years.

I think Brady will play one more year, during which the Pats will do well but not make the SB and Brady himself will have to deal with getting knocked senseless once or twice. At that point he will know its time to call it quits. I suspect he is sticking around to catch the likes of Favre and Manning on yards and TDs, but that likely wont matter since Brees will wind up on top of both categories and no one will catch Favre on attempts (although Brees has a chance on comps)

I don't think he cares about the yards & TDs record, it's all about getting another ring. In that regard, I don't think he's bothered about the records he set in yesterday's game, all that mattered was he lost.

Reckon he will call it quits within the next 2 seasons. As great as he was this season, father time is undefeated.

They pretty much are. No one else really plays the sport do they? Canada has a league but nowhere near the quality of the NFL.

They might be the best team in the world currently it doesn't make them world champions though does it.
