Im shocked that the Eagles blew away the Vikings. Generally shocked and ruined my bet, but it's the Patriots and the greatest player to play Brady. Eagles have been underdogs twice now but it' third time unlucky.
Belichick the greatest coach, is more concerning than Brady. Don't remember Brady holding the Jags to 20 points.

I don’t think it’s a given conclusion at all.

Eagles run the ball well - a patriots weakness.
Foles could have another great game which would cause real problems as no doubt B.B. gameplans to take away the run and RPOs. If Foles can put the offence on his back, our secondary is there for the torching.
Eagles front 4 is deadly. Jags crush the pocket but Eagles pressure comes all too often up the middle - a Brady killer.

To win we will need a coaching masterclass, players to step up and make big plays, Brady to be Brady, and Gronk to clear concussion protocol.

Ah yes, Collinsworth. The pristine commentating so boring and monotonous that it can put a child on a sugar high to sleep in minutes.
His delivery is below average but he's one of the sharpest minds around. Not too dissimilar from McCarver in regards to his presentation vs insight.

So, all that Crisco applied on the poles by the Philly police didn't help after all. Who would have thought it eh!

Well yeah when you have all those signs to grab onto and use as steps.
Some crazy shit went down at Philly last night. Some brilliant videos and things heard on the police scanner like nude guy running around and getting people off the statue. I feel for the police. Must be so damn difficult to manage these situations.
Wonder if Pats fans were the same or were they more like "Meh another Superbowl. What else is new?"

 I think there’s probably a middle ground between “meh” and “running around naked climbing poles”.

Yeah but for Philly fans, this is huge and calls for a celebration. For Pats fans, it's something that has happened so repeatedly in the past that it must feel kinda regular, right?

Also, some Eagles fans threw a Christmas tree into a bonfire to keep warm!

Did winning the Premier League feel "regular" when SAF was in charged? Sure, the event was regular, but every season we won it I was just as happy.

Naturally though, the jubilation and hysteria is amplified when you haven't won or reached the pinnacle that frequently.

What I'm saying is, being there regularly doesn't make it any less of a celebration. But reaching there after a long time heightens it. It's like 12/10 and 10/10, instead of 10/10 and 8/10.

Looks like Philly fans using this as an excuse to act like knobs to be honest.

Shock.

Yeah I get that. And you're right each title still felt special. Anyways, looking forward to the game. Two teams so hated that it will cause agony to a lot of people irrespective of who wins.

It’s been done.

Yes, I am toxic :wenger:

So vince McMahon just announced that the XFL will return in 2020. I have no idea what to think.
More football played by NFL rejects in the off season. It's not even going to rival the NFL, Vince said there won't be any investors or franchises so it's basically Vince and his $100M going up against 32 billionaires and a league worth billions. Vince doesn't have the financial power to compete with the NFL and the way he talked about the XFL in that press conference just told me that he has no idea what he's doing. It's going to fail miserably again.

@Raoul confirmed or just rumours? Saw the obligatory youtube vids and the kid looks good but I'm looking at high school vids here. But I bet there are tons of high school kids who look this good so is it hype or a proper player??

Just had a look on the old web and found the pats have 1 1st round pick, 2 2nd round picks - could be an interesting off-season for sure and given how good the Pats have been at finding players and now they have a 1st round pick for the 1st time in 3 years will be interesting for sure!

Yes it will

Its more of a rumor and an inside joke among pundits since Braxton has near identical abilities to all of Belichick's "white guy" receivers of the past and present (most notably Welker). Braxton has similar talent - and can play outside or in the slot and will be a great possession receiver.

Could someone with a bit more nfl knowledge explain what the franchise tag means? Been reading about how Levon Bell earlier threatened to sit out a season if the Steelers placed the tag again on him this season, even though he's earning a reported $12m. Just a bit confused as to what the tag means

At a high level, there’s two types - exclusive and non-exclusive.

Exclusive - the team retains the rights to the player for one year. Player can’t negotiate with other teams or sign with other teams.

Non-exclusive. The team retains rights to the pkyer for one year. Player can negotiate with other teams. Franchise tagger has right to match whatever the other team offers. If player signs with other team, the tagger gets 2 first round draft picks.

In terms of salary, guaranteed in both cases. And also in both cases, equal to the average of the 5 best salaries in the league at that position or 120% of current deal, whichever is higher.

If Bell gets exclusive tags and holds out for the season (which he won’t) he wouldn’t be able to negotiate with other teams and he would probably be fined his entire salary by the Steelers.
