So many people doubted the Eagles this season, there were so many articles about how they had an easy schedule and just beat the easy teams and shit. The team as a whole has had an incredible season and have been all around the best team in the league.

Esp after Wentz got injured, no one gave the team a chance. Hope they have one more such performance left.

Delighted for Foles. Could not have been easy knowing he was the main reason most considered Eagles as underdogs. 78.8% completion, 352 yards, 3 touchdowns and a rating of 141.4. Incredible performance.

Its like city playing liverpool in the Fa Cup final ..just a horrible horrible year

Unbelievable how the Vikings capitulated. Will be a tough game against the Eagles who’ve a top notch o-line and d-line. If Foles plays like he did today...

fecking sick of Brady and Belichick. Go away Pats.

This is the year Brady retires, surely?

What do you recon caused it? Don’t think I’ve quite seen anything like it (i.e level of drop off).

The Eagles have arguably the best DL in the league and one of the best OL, if we are fair it's the Eagles who beat down the Vikings more than anything else. The Vikings on the other end have a lately reshuffled OL after Easton's injury and the DL play dropped in the last month.

But I will have to watch the game again to see it more clearly.(I don't want to)

I agree on th OL and DL points. But I don’t think that is the main thing ...

Third down conversions much higher against the D.
Couldn’t stop the run in key situations.
Poor tackling (plenty of times a missed or weak tackle allowed Eagles the first down.
Major secondary busts and ball watching.
Keenum giving it up in key moments.

They’re just some of the things. Perhaps the crazy win got to them. Or the pressure of a potential home SB.

No doubt the Eagles had a blinding game and Foles was excellent. But Foles was partly made to look excellent. The best defence in the league does not allow uncontested 40+ yard passes over and over again. Also worth noting the pocket was often collapsing around Foles.

I forgot to mention play calling and man management during the week, everyone probably thought that they were prettier from Zimmer to the players.

Edit: And your last point is why while I have to acknowledge his good season, I wouldn't give Keenum a big contract.

Not what I expected from Zimmer. Thought he was level headed. Suspect he did recognise it and tried to counter it but the players were on another planet mentally.

If you watch the turnovers, to be fair to Keenum, all 3 were top notch defensive plays.

First one his arm gets knocked by a defender as he throws. Hardly his fault.
Second one there is a free blind side blitzer. I think most QBs fumble there.
Third was his worst, but he was forcing the issue by that point.

I agree - I’m with you that I’d be hesitant about signing Keenum up to a big contract as a starter. But Phillys D was what made him look bad and caused the turnovers yday.

Totally agree with your point on play calling too.

Boy, it was embarrassing. I don't even know if conclusions should be drawn and important changes made.

Two teams i hate most so not really
Two teams that are widely hated. They could bill it as the Super Bowl that America hopes both teams lose.

Trying to think of a matchup to procure more such sentiment. Replace the Eagles with Washington for sure. Not sure beyond that. Baltimore-Oakland probably being the best recent example.

This is tough. I absolutely hate the Eagles fans but their team is okay. I hate the Pats but their fans are not nearly as bad as the Eagles fans.
Think I will root for the Pats because it means less to them. A Philly SB win would make their fans so freeking obnoxious.

I wouldn't think Baltimore or Washington would fall into the nationwide hated team category. I would put Oakland, Dallas, Philly and New England right at the top.

Washington certainly is due to their racist name and shit ownership. Hard to imagine a team with a more negative image that is actually justifiable.

Baltimore never really recovered from the perception of ‘stealing’ one of the most iconic franchises in the NFL away from a small market and playing ultra-defensive football led by a guy with serious accusations against him. Not as hated now, but at least at the time that was far from an ideal matchup for the Super Bowl.

Only philly fans booed santa claus though..i mean who boos Santa ?

Maybe my favourite picture of all time.

Im a Pats fan, I love how bitter rival fans are - and some of the comments on this picture last night were tremendous

The conspiracies are mental. I actively dislike the Patriots because they are boring, but they are boring because they win, and they win because they are very good. Not because of referees.

At the beginning of the Eagles/Vikings game I saw the ref shaking hands with the QB's before each teams first offensive play. The horror

You actually see the officials in many sports laughing and joking with players during the games, almost like everyone involved is human.

Every time I've picked a team this year they have lost my Luck has been disastrous

So ...GO EAGLES

Any fallout or bitching about the decision to call back the fumble return
Or is it just being accepted as really he recovered it, even if it wasn't clear to overturn and the on field ruling was right to stand

As that whistle to blow the play dead was a huge call with the benefit of hindsight, dont know if was going all the way, but Jags would have been surely in the red zone at worst, and had huge momentum

Some but basically once it was blown dead play is over. Jags still got the ball so not like it ended their chances.

Pats fan from Philadelphia signing in here. Pats are going to grind the Eagles' arrogant faces into the dirt. The general population of this city will be on suicide watch. You read it here first.

Im shocked that the Eagles blew away the Vikings. Generally shocked and ruined my bet, but it's the Patriots and the greatest player to play Brady. Eagles have been underdogs twice now but it' third time unlucky.
