Wentz, Ryan, and Brees would all perform to the same level with the Patriots (if not better). Rodgers and Wilson are a different class. Brady is still very good though.

Brady is the reigning Superbowl MVP, NFL MVP, passing yardage leader, attempts and completions leader and will likely win yet another SuperBowl in a few weeks. Its hard to make the argument that he isn't the best player in the league right now. Also, you can't use hypotheticals and say what if QB x was playing on Team y. You can only go with the numbers infront of you.

He's in his 40s and could decline any time.
He could. But it’s all about winning the Super Bowl. If you’re 2nd, you’re last. Brady’s proven that he’ll get you a SB on average every three years, so I’d squeeze every drop of juice he has left in the tank and see if we can get another ring or two out. There’s no guarantees that Jimmy G can cut it when it’s crunch time.

To me Brady is top 3, simply because there is a group of franchise QB behind Rodgers and Wilson that you could swap without problem and Brady is among them.

Stats etc. reflect the team and coaching around him as much as his very good ability. I believe the quarterbacks I stated are more talented (better) than him.

Bill B likes to key on one part of the opponents offense, take it away and make the weaker part beat them. Not a shot at Bortles , but I think they'll key against the run, spy Bortles and see if he can beat them with his arm. He could play well enough to win the game.
Yep. This
Will try and take Fournette and the run out of the game and force Bortles to throw more than he or the Jags want.

But then Jags are going to try and get a lot of pressure up the middle to stop Brady

I know it matters a lot anyway, but the turnover differential might be key this game

Any UK/London Season ticket holders?
Looks like having a season ticket wont really guarantee you a ticket to the Tottenham games (Seahawks/Raiders)
Looks like the capacity is 60k.
There are 40k season ticket holders apparently.
And yet Spurs season ticket holders will have first priority over the NFL season ticket holders. Nuts.

You are being very generous there. Wentz has had one good season. Ryan is good, but not as good as Brady. With Wilson, it is difficult to tell how he'd perform elsewhere. This year he had no run game and a terrible o-line yet again, nonetheless he had very frustrating games or needed his time to get going. As a Seahawks fan I'd love to say, he's better right now, but IMO he isn't.

Fair enough. BTW, I don't disagree about Rodgers and Wilson. I just find it hard to say that Brady doesn't at a minimum belong in the top 3 current QBs based on what he's done over the past 12 months alone.
It's close between him and Brees/Wentz/Ryan for me. So slots in the 3-5 range. You are right he's playing at a level never seen for someone so wrinkly.

Probably with Wentz, but I think the talent is there that makes it a discussion. Ryan is just a younger and slightly more manoeuvrable Brady-lite, who I think is just as good at this point in Brady's career. Brady would have won three games or less with that Seahawks offensive personnel. Wilson is incredible - I think frustration with him can be forgiven however.

Brees' stats are unbelievable. Only one ring in his career but he has averaged about 5000 yards a year over the past ten year period which is absolutely insane and likely won't be broken for a very long time.

I disagree. Baldwin is one of the best receivers in the league and IMO better than Cooks. Graham, Richardson and Lockett aren't exactly terrible either.

Brady would be crushed behind that line.

Wentz had a great year. If not for his week 13 injury, he would've matched Brady atop all the stat columns.

I don't think Wilson would be better behind New England's line than Brady. He's missed a lot of first reads and had quite a bit of luck in terms of interceptions (meaning he could have thrown a lot more).

Just noticed Brees broke the single season completion percentage record this year. Surprised it isn't getting more attention.

It was too expected, he somehow managed to make greatness, ordinary.

Brees is great - but it's easier to complete short passes to the halfbacks. Could be wrong on this though.

That's not Brees' game though, every year he is among the QBs with the most deep passes, he also regularly have the most yards per completions and attempts.

Possibly, a third of his completions this year was to a running back though - that's quite a high number.

Brees has been exceptional as usual. They have a strong run game but his numbers for deep balls and completion percentages have been amazing. Criminally underrated player in the NFL I think because of who he plays for, I've got him, Rodgers, Brady and Wilson in Tier 1 QBs.

And this year, NO went from a passing offense to a rushing offense, also Kamara runs wide receiver roots.

Brees is my favourite QB after Brady & Rodgers, was really hoping he’d make it to the SB this year. Very consistent and has been for so many years. Unfortunately between their SB win until this season the offense was too one dimensional & their D was quite shit.

They had very good balance this year on offense with the 2 RBs & I like Thomas at WR. With some additions on D they’ll be contenders next season if Brees stays.

Is that true? I didn’t think Spurs season ticket holders had priority?

Thinking of the Saints Panthers wild card game, the pinpoint accuracy of Brees passing in that game in particular was incredible. He’s a wonderful player and, in my view, quite underrated.

Brady isn't a top 2 QB anymore, but the point still stands that he's very good.

Also, Jags defense if being heavily overrated by everyone it seems. They are fine but hardly out of this world. Brady is more than good enough to destroy it. I think it will be an embarrassment.

 I’m sorry but to be blunt I just can’t take what you say seriously. There’s hating the Patriots (acceptable and understandable, fine), then there’s being able to make a post without bias and agenda.

Don’t thunk you’ve ever said anything positive about us except Brady is playing at a level no wrinkly QB has (even that couldn’t be said without a dig lol).

This Jags D is not heavily overrated (statistics and performance show that). And more importantly it’s not just about being a quality defence. It’s about matchup (which is the context of what my post was). For example, the Seahawks defence was much better than the Jags but schematically the Jags are better matched up against us due to their ability to play man and rush with not 4 and get pressure - two things that throw Brady’s game more than anything. That’s why the Ravens and Broncos Ds of the past have had much success against us.

The team with the No.1 passing QB has never beaten the leagues No.1 D passing in a playoff game. Nonetheless, if you’re at the pinnacle of your sport you need to be making history. Thus yes the one bit I do agree with is it’ll be embarrassing to say we lost to the Jags. But I do think that more than anything that’s just a nice sound bite, not actually supported by fact or stats.

I will go all Anderson Cat if I want to!!!!

(Who is Anderson Cat?!)

He used to post on here, was a Pat's fan always ready with jokes and digs about other teams but lost his shit and and went off in a huff when it went the other way.

 Oh dear. Meh it’s sport, you win some and lose some. Last year we had the final laugh when Brady stormed us back to take the SB. Perhaps this year you guys will have the final laugh, when the AFC Superbowl QB is B... B... Bortles!

 fingers crossed!

Is Brady’s hand injury serious?! Apparently didn’t practice yesterday.

Jags D is very quick & Brady struggles against pressure, an injured throwing hand isn’t going to help :nervous:
