I think Frank Clark was an overdraft and that's before you get into the fact that he is an unapologetic domestic abuser.

Views on Tyler Lockett and/or any of the others?

We apparently always 'reach' in our drafts.

"But the Seahawks made him the 63rd overall pick in the draft, saying team officials had conducted an extensive investigation of their own and felt confident that the 6-foot-2, 277-pound Clark had not struck his girlfriend. The team acknowledged on Monday that their investigation did not include interviews with witnesses other than Clark."

This is the police report. http://www.scribd.com/mobile/doc/246836579
And another article. http://seati.ms/1E77ra2

I would rather we picked someone else up with a cleaner history tbh but what's done is done now just have to hope it was a one off incident that and he's going to turn his life around. The pictures are informative in the police report. The pair have certainly had a fight but he hasn't beaten her to death like people have been saying. Either way it's still inexcusable and I don't think most fans are comfortable with it.

I guess it comes down to whether people deserve a second chance or not. Obviously what happened was v wrong but you have to decide whether it's bad enough that he doesn't deserve to play in the NFL. There are plenty of other players who have committed crimes so where do you draw the line?

Tyler Lockett seems to be the exact opposite personality I really like that pick. Our return game has been non existent this past year. I don't watch any college football but I've seen a few videos on him and he's a little Russell Wilsonesque personality wise and he's had a lot of success. Think he may turn out to be our best pick.

The #Deflategate report is saying 'more probable than not' the Pats participated in violations of the rules & Brady was generally aware of what happened.

So they think it's probable, but not certain they broke the rules? I'm guessing a fine or taking away a draft pick will be handed out as punishment.

They say that it is probable however they have no hard evidence to actually prove that people were involved in deliberately deflating the balls. What a load of nonsense the report turns out to be

Robert Kraft on the report:

"Throughout the process of this nearly four-month investigation, we have cooperated and patiently awaited its outcome. To say we are disappointed in its findings, which do not include any incontrovertible or hard evidence of deliberate deflation of footballs at the AFC Championship Game, would be a gross understatement," Kraft wrote.

"While I respect the independent process of the investigation, the time, effort and resources expended to reach this conclusion are incomprehensible to me. Knowing that there is no real recourse available, fighting the league and extending this debate would prove to be futile. We understand and greatly respect the responsibility of being one of 32 in this league and, on that basis, we will accept the findings of the report and take the appropriate actions based on those findings as well as any discipline levied by the league."

So apparently the report is over 200 pages long(over 200 pages on deflating a football?). Not a shred of actual hard evidence anywhere, it's just "probable", "believes that" and "more probable than not that..."

Months of investigating and all they can come up with is guess work?

Robert Kraft is pissed off big time

I know I am supposed to be outraged by this especially since I am a Jets fan but I personally find this whole thing hilarious especially the emails. But, the non stop focus on things like this is one of the reasons I follow the NFL less and less. Most of the news stories have very little to do with what actually happens on the field. Heck they just spent months talking about the NFL Draft.

So these guys hate Tom Brady which in itself conflicts the guess work in the report that they would intentionally underinflate the ball to help him throw it.

One could also argue that what you say in a text message to what you do in real life is a completely separate issue. Either way I think it's safe to say they won't be working for the Pats on game day next year

McNally's fecked at least.

As, from the sounds of it, Brady has already done to his wife.

They hate Tom Brady because he seems to be constantly nagging them about the air pressure in the balls though

Its not solid evidence, and it is more comical than damning

Bullet point summary for those of us who can't be arsed reading 200 pages?

Here are the things that stood out to me so far:

  • The two guys sent text messages alluding to the fact that Brady pressured them to have the balls at a low PSI
  • The Patriots did not fully cooperate with the investigation. If the investigators request an interview with someone and you turn it down (regardless of how many times he had previously been interviewed), that's not fully cooperating
  • The differences between the Patriots and Colts balls were 1) statistically significant and 2) could not have been caused by measuring the psi
  • McNally took the game balls to the bathroom for 1 minute and 40 seconds
  • He did not have permission to do this
  • He changed his story on this several times
  • This is not standard procedure
  • The investigation concluded that this was more than enough time to deflate 13 balls
  • Exponent, a scientific and engineering firm, and a professor of physics from Princeton agreed with this
  • McNally referred to himself as the "deflator" and also said "i'm not going to espn……..yet"
  • The referee could not find the game balls at pre game (for the first time in 19 years) and McNally removed the game balls without authorization
  • Brady knew about all of this
  • There are texts referring to Brady commenting on the deflation of the balls

  • Brady and Jastremski didn't talk for 6 months over the phone
  • January 19th - the issue breaks in the media
  • January 19th - the two speak on the phone for 25 minutes
  • January 20th - the two speak on the phone for 10 minutes
  • January 21st - the two speak on the phone for 21 minutes

That's pretty damning!

"Counsel for the Patriots, however, refused to make Jim McNally available for a follow-up interview requested by our investigative team on what we believed were important topics, despite our offer to meet at any time and location that would be convenient for McNally. Counsel for the Patriots apparently refused even to inform McNally of our request. We believe the failure by the Patriots and its counsel to produce McNally for the requested follow-up interview violated the club‟s obligations to cooperate with the investigation under the Policy on Integrity of the Game & Enforcement of League Rules and was inconsistent with public statements made by the Patriots pledging full cooperation with the investigation"

 I couldn't help it. I love proving people wrong, especially the Pats groupies on here. It's actually not that daunting of a read. For example, 4 pages are just a list of the people they interviewed.

Still not reading it!

I maintained months ago (I think I said as much in this thread in fact) that someone as single-minded and controlling as Brady would be privy to even the smallest elements of game preparation. I knew he was bullshitting when he said he had no idea what what happening.

I'm disappointed because I remember watching Brady back when he was at Michigan. I think this definitely taints his legacy.

What is the punishment likely to be? Banned from the play offs, a fine, loss of draft picks or something like the coaches being banned for a year like NO.

You Americans and your legacies.

Brady's an extension of his coach. They're a match made in heaven.
